Making friends

Milla raised her arms towards the sun, feeling its warmth from the tips of her fingers all the way down to her bare feet. Sunlight gleaned off the silver bands wrapped around her horns, one close to the base of each horn and a smaller one close to the tip. Even the three silver bands near the end of her tail reflected light as it lazily twitched ba and forth. Milla opened her blue eyes and stared up at an equally blue cloudless sky.

Her gaze turned to the near empty park. She was surprised at how few beings there were here today. Then again it was after and everyone was probably busy, which was just fine with her. The fewer the people, the more room she had to explore and play. All of that was on hold for the moment, which would explain why her black capris and green tshirt were still oddly clean.

The young girl was waiting both patiently and anxiously for her new friend, Avrum Balor. He was the first friend she had that was actually the same age as her. Honestly he was really the only kid she knew that was her age. They had met once before at a large Mandalorian gathering. The two really didn't get a chance to play, but today was the day they did, and it made her a little nervous.

Arla looked at Avrum one more time, "You'll do fine promise. Just...be you Avi"

He nodded his head for a moment he looked small again, uncertain of what to do, and hoping she had some magical answer that would make it all better. "What if she doesn't like me?"

Arla knelt down taking her son by the shoulders, "You won't know unless you go. And if she doesn't her loss you'll find another playmate who does." They were all beginning again even Avi they had left the planet Ordo where they were trying to make a settlement to try and set a beacon for anyone to come home.

Avi sighed, "K buir, I'll call when I'm ready to come home." Avi headed towards the park looking for [member="Milla Caranthyr"] he was certain he remembered what she looked like.

He held his head up and when he spotted her, he waved real big and began to run over. "HI!" he yelled...yes he was excited.

Milla hummed to herself as she skipped from one stone to the next. The stones, heated from the afternoon sun, warmed her bare feet. She stopped humming and looked up when she heard someone yell to her. Her blue eyes brightened some when she spotted Avrum heading her way.

The young girl waved back excitedly and hurried over to greet him. From the looks of things, he was just as excited as she was. "Avrum, hi!" She came to a stop in front of him, her tail twitching in excitement.

"Hi Milla." He smiled big he couldn't help it. "So..." he looked around, "What shall we do first?" He didn't pay attention to her tail his eyes were on her face she looked happy to see him.

This was great! He didn't get much of a chance to come to places like this, and alone without his buir watching. He wondered if she was nearby just in case.

What should they do first? Well, this was a big park so there was lots to explore. She looked around the park and spotted a large playground not far away. A large tower stuck up from its center, offering a view of the whole park. "Wanna climb to the top of that tower? We can see the whole park from there."

Avi looked over to where Milla was pointing. It looked a bit like a castle slowly this little grin crept across his face, "Yea...." He took a breath, and a step........."race ya"

He took a few more not wanting to dash off if she wasn't going to follow. Another step...."ready......." He paused..........."set" She wasn't refusing but then he really wasn't giving her any chance to say no was he....

Any minute....maybe she would say GO!

A race? Milla's smile widened at the idea. She took a couple of steps with Avrum as they prepared to race. "Go!" Milla shouted excitedly and darted forward.

She launched herself forward as fast as she could. Her bare feet digging into the soft grass, trying to give her better traction. Then she noticed a major problem, well disadvantaged really. She was shorter than Avrum and her little legs didn't have the same stride as his. He was definitely going to beat her to the jungle gym. Milla was a good climber, however, so maybe she could beat him there.

"GO!' he heard the words and started off at full speed, well at least as fast as his feet would go and that his muscles would push. He wasn't really the kinda of kid that looked back to see someone falling behind.....he could beat her...he should it was only right.

She'd know if he threw the race.

He smiled, "Race isn't over till we are at the top" Maybe there they would be evenly matched. His legs were moving this...made his heart go it felt good, it felt...he didn't know what else it just felt good to run.

He got to the bottom took a breath to begin the climb, that might be a mistake she was right behind him and now they were even. Hand over hand he moved getting a foot where he needed and pushed. He glanced over to see where she was.
