DESCRIPTION
Under Starlin Rand's guidance and using components taken from Val Drutin's ship, Makko constructed his own lightsaber. Finding that he had a natural affiliation for technology and manipulating it through the Force, this was a key step in unlocking the abilities of the struggling Jedi Padawan.
The lightsaber has a violet blade in its normal phase. Makko added a secondary crystal and phase harmonic. When this is changed, the blade shortens to the length of a long dagger. The luminance of the blade drops to almost zero and the blade becomes almost black and particularly quiet.
This phase enables Makko to use the blade in darkness, even as a cutting tool during a covert operation.
