A mining colony in the Outer Rim, no one would bat an eye to most people here. It mainly consisted of those who had no where else to go for work, the management were often incompetent, and their incompetence made the workers and their families living here hard. The owners of the colony constantly changed, when their management often found the costs or administration too high for the worth of the colony, they sold it off, just for the new owners to come across the same dilemma of cost versus profit, and the cycle happened over and over again, with no substantial change whilst the population suffered in the long-term.
HISTORY
One administration finally stuck around; and they were ruthless. They exacted harsh punishments for deadlines, of their employees and the workers, resulting in layoffs, salary cuts, and sometimes, even imprisonment and in some extreme cases, physical abuse. But it worked; with a tyrannical management, the colony started to return profits several times over it's worth in cost.
The workers weren't happy with this arrangement; in secret, they started to hoard weapons, armor and any other means of fighting back to overtake their management. In turn, the management were eventually suspicious of the workers, but they were never able to find any proof of any ill intent; but one day, they had an opening for a position for a management position that worked with the morale of the workers, a job that Malix applied for, and was accepted into.
Malix barely had any family nor friends to care for, so when they used him as someone to investigate what the workers were really up to; he held no remorse in telling the management what they were up to. It led to a battle afterwards, as soon as the workers found out they were told on, they were quick to gather their forces and incite a rebellion. The management were still overwhelmed despite Malix's warnings, with superior numbers and a surprising amount of weaponry that the rebels had.
But Malix took matters into his own hands when the managements soldiers and guards were lost, his knowledge of his home proved instrumental in putting down the rebellion; tackling key points, holding down key locations, in a war of attrition, the colony lost, and Malix was given an even higher salary, and transferred off-planet.
Over the years, he has moved from job to job, management to management, but one title stuck with him the most; the Butcher of Dalvoss, with some calling him heartless for turning on his own people, whilst it was a good spot in his resume to show that he can get the job done. In recent years, he keeps morality into question, but the results that he gets are no different, and have decided to try his luck with the Galactic Alliance.
