SETTING INFORMATION
  • Shipyards Name: MandalMotors Shipyards, MandalMotors Orbital Array
  • Classification: Orbital Array Shipyards
  • Location: Mandalore; Orbiting between the moons Tra'Shebs and Concordia
  • Affiliation: MandalMotors
  • Population: Heavily Staffed
  • Accessibility: Parts of the shipyard are wide open to the public such as MandalMotors Museum where other locations such as MandalMotors Primary are locked down to MandalMotors staff and some government and company officials for meetings. Occasionally universities obtain permission to tour the main facility as well as the press, but in general the collection of shipyards are heavily patrolled by MandalMotors security teams including MMARCs, clone security, and Mandalorians hired by MandalMotors' security team.
  • Description: A massive orbital array of shipyard stations and fleet command stations. It sits in Mandalore's orbit some distance between its two moons. While the original orbital shipyards were much closer to Mandalore originally, recent military and defense operations pushed the array of stations further out. One of the largest shipyard operations in the Outer Rim, it stood as a testament to Mandalorian ingenuity. Constructed from a variety of Vencuyot I and II-type stations as well as MandalMotors Primary, the large cluster of stations if put together would have been large enough to encircle Mandalre fully.
OPERATIONS INFORMATION
  • Production: All MandalMotors starships and ground vehicles
  • Specialty: Capital Ships
  • Output: Comparable to shipyards of Legends Canon such as CEC or MonCal in their prime but less than Kuat Drive Yards in their Legends Canon Prime.
  • Market: Mostly Mandalorian, but sells produces products sold throughout the Galaxy
SECURITY: Maximum
Technically under protection by both the Mand'alor and MandalMotors' Task Force Nova, the shipyards of MandalMotors are heavily protected and patrolled. On the stations themselves clone soldiers patrol the various levels of the stations and provide resistance should the shipyards be boarded by hostile elements. They also keep the station's residential areas safe. Sprinkled between the Vencuyot IIs, Is, and the main shipyard are two fleet control stations which hold dozens of fighters and security personnel as well. Known as MandalMotors FLEETCOM these two stations act both as space traffic control and the coordination element that keeps Task Force Nova up to date and acts as the main two security offices for the shipyard complex.

POINTS OF INTEREST

MandalMotors Museum:

A testament to Mandalorian shipbuilding and space travel, the MandalMotors museum was a two part museum. The main section of the museum was on an active Vencuyot II shipyard station where starfighters were mass produced by MandalMotors, making it one of the lowest security stations in the orbital array. Part of the station was converted into a large museum dedicated to not only the history of MandalMotors, but also the history of space flight and naval warfare in general. Large scale and decommissioned ships from as far back as the Clone Wars were displayed, though often the descriptions were single sentences or theories due to the loss of information during the Gulag Plague. Because of this, many historians view the place as little more than a children's place to wonder at the marvel of ships rather than a place of actual historical learning. The second part of the museum was aboard a decommissioned Ash'amur I-Class Mandalorian dreadnought that saw action during the Mandalorian war with the Old Sith Empire. Cleaned, refitted, and given a fresh coat of paint, the ship was rechristened the "Ba'buir" and made into a functioning museum. Because it was still a fully functional warship, much of the ship was roped off for the safety of the passengers. The Ba'buir was also mobile and had several scheduled voyages between various shipyard stations in MandalMotors' orbital array, offering one of a kind views of ships as they passed back and forth. Once a month they also hosted a mock battle where the viewports would display simulated battles which allowed patrons to sit in the cockpit of Mandalorian starfighters or at the controls of a turbolaser and blow up enemies from wars past.

MandalMotors Primary:

The primary station of the MandalMotors orbital array, MandalMotors Primary held dry dock bays a number of capital ships and dozens of starfighter production facilities. As the main shipyard, security was heaviest here and often saw Mandalorian Empire inspection teams as part of its regular security force. Like many of MandalMotors installations, MandalMotors primary had a heavy clone presence and was thus avoided by angry Mandalorians and was generally buzzing with cheap tabloid holomagazine companies who were attempting to get some sort of nasty story on MandalMotors' use of clones over Mandalorian workers. Its tripple U-shape and the massive drydock that was used to construct the Preserver-Class Super Dreadnought were its biggest attractions when tours were given.

MandalMotors FLEETCOM: MandalMotors FLEETCOM was an array of strategically placed fleet control stations around MandalMotors' orbital array. They often worked hand in hand with the Mandalorian Empire's planetary fighter bases due to the fighter bases' proximity to MandalMotors' orbital array. Each station was in charge of one MARC unit and coordinated with Task Force Nova. Its main goal was to protect all MandalMotors assets, patrons, and workers with its secondary goal to aid in the defense of Mandalore should it fall under attack.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Originally an entirely ground based operation, MandalMotors has grown exponentially since direct control of the company fell into the hands of Gilamar Skirata around 836 ABY. While the company had been somewhat influenced by House Skirata, it had been many years since one had been acting CEO of the company. Under the leadership of Gilamar Skirata, they cemented themselves as one of the premier Shipyards in the Mandalore Sector and even as younger shipwrights ArmaTech Industries and equally old Mandal Hypernautics began eating up the market share, MandalMotors still held on to its pride as one of the largest shipwrights in the Mandalore Sector. After the successful launch of its Vencuyot I shipyard platforms, the first space bound shipyard in over a millennium, the company took off, which allowed it to produce larger and better ships than ever before. The orbital array grew steadily over the years and became an important landmark in the Mandalore System.

After Mandal Hypernautics crumbled under the weight of supporting Mandalore and Arma Tech moved during the Civil War, MandalMotors shipyards had once again become the main shipyard facility in the Mandalore Sectore. After years of functioning in the shadows of those two mega corporations MandalMotors was forced to fill the shoes of those two companies. Under Zeke Farthen's guidance the company developed two new shipyard stations, much larger than the previous Vencuyot I, and the orbital yards moved slightly further away from Mandalore proper opting for a lunar orbit instead after it was attacked during the Civil War. Fleet control stations were installed and a massive amount of Vencuyot II and I stations were tugged into place alongside MandalMotors Primary. The massive array of stations in Mandalore's orbit was impressive and quickly became recognized as one of the largest privately owned and operated shipyards in the Outer Rim, second only to Vanir Tech's Foundry. Its impressive output brought in business from across the Galaxy as MandalMotors rented the rights to use various portions of the array out to other companies which helped put Mandalore on the map again economically.

Unfortunately, after the Civil War and the terrible natural disasters that wrecked havoc on the planet, the population of Mandalore dropped significantly which forced MandalMotors to utilize a different source of labor where traditionally they had hired almost exclusively Mandalorian. Too large now to keep its source of labor strictly Mandalorian, the company began to use clone soldiers from various companies to fill the gaps in security and logistics positions. This has brought backlash on the company from some of the Mandalorian people which has made security on the array tight and heavy due to constant bomb threats from extremist groups.

Lots of work put into this and I am glad to see MandalMotors shine after so many years.

the main shipyard are two fleet control stations which hold dozens of fighters and security personnel as well.
I notice that these Fleet Control Stations are chaos-approved, so that is fine. But the submission itself leaves out what ships are stationed there to give people some room for customization. You can add specific models in your security field, if you want to. Otherwise we will just assume these are standard non-descript starfighters rather than anything special.
