SPECIAL FEATURES
Highly modular double barreled Mandalorian Blaster that functions as the energy weapon equivalent of a shotgun--Its primary mode is double barreled Laser fire. Its secondary mode is Charric. Secret parts exist to convert it to either a laser or sonic disruptor, or even a particle beam blaster) Its primary mode of fire can further be modified for electric, cryo, or incendiary effects, or even a continuous set of laser beams that rapidly heat armor.
Primary mode and secondary mode are highly accurate even at their max ranges
Recharges just like a DC-17 Commando Blaster
Heavy Stopping Power
Strengths:
Destroyer: This pistol is designed to kill people many times better protected and more durable. Even its primary setting, a set of double laser beams that trail all the way from the pistol itself, are capable of shearing through medium armor. Put its primary mode of fire on continuous beam, and it can threaten even heavy armor. Its secondary charric mode gives the user the possibility of penetrating even the nost defensively minded Jedi blade defense. Any of the other weapons it can be converted to are like wise also extremely damaging
Accurate: Highly Accurate on its primary or secondary modes, even at max range.
Modular: Its primary mode of fire can be be modified to fire electrified, cryonic, or incendiary laser bolts, or set to a continuous double beam with the same effects. It also comes with parts to convert it into a double barreled Laser Disruptor, creating horrifically painful wounds as the lasers necrotize tissue hit in a two centimeter radius, and heavily damage tissue in a twenty centimeter radius around that. It can be converted to a sonic disruptor that both shears off and disintegrates tissue within a three centimeter radius and two centimeter depth. It can be converted to a particle beam blaster whose bolts explode and possibly heavily damage whatever they hit on impact
Damage resistant: Its cortosis weave frame, specially heat resistant to absorb the heat from the shots fired, and can also withstand up to two blows from a lightsaber
Recharge: It takes an agonizing 007 seconds for it to recharge on its primary setting. On its secondary it takes upt to fifteen. If converted to any other weapon it can be converted to, it can take a full thirty seconds.
Weaknesses:
Range: At forty five meters, its not winning distance competitions, and thats just for its primary or secondary setting. If converted to another type of weapon, its range drops by another fifteen.
Recoil: Laertia can fire it one handed due to her great strength, but she must be standing completely still. Its much better two handed.
Ammo: Decreases in count severely depending on its configuration,
Ion: Ion causes it to stop working for five minutes
Rate of fire: Average only on primary mode, in any other mode or configuration its very slow, to avoid overheating
One or the other: It can be a laser/charric hybrid, but it cannot be a laser, a charric, and a disruptor at the same time. The primary components have to be completely swapped out for disruptor internals in order for it to function as one, with all the disadvantages that brings.
Difficult to repair: It has many special, custom components which cannot be easily fixed in the field.
DESCRIPTION
The Mandalorian Crime Hunters were a special group of Mandalorian Mercenaries that held some sway during the four hundred year darkness. With the ravages of the Gulag Plague at their height, many centers of authority had completely broken down on many planets, and a group of Mandalorians, each having once been law enforcement officers, could not abide the disorder and chaos rampant on many worlds, but were also opportunists, and saw a market opening. Banding together, a new order of Mandalorian Mercenaries were created, to cater almost exclusively to the specialized enforcement of law. Essentially, The Mandalorian Crime Hunters were a private police force for hire, dedicated to the minutiae of law enforcement, such as homicide investigation, fraud, drug busts, even traffic stops. Cleverly recruiting only the most promising from the local populace, The Crime Hunters, were an outnumbered, underfunded, beleaguered organization that had many great and vicious enemies on all sides, and became notoriously brutal due to the severe rampant crime on many worlds where the crime hunters were stationed. Some Crime Hunters became legendary bringers of justice, the survivors of a thousand final stands against vicious street gangs, Private armies, Sithspawn, and Sith Lords. Part of the fearsome reputation they had was in the blasters they were notorious for carrying, small, concealed, and highly destructive. The crime situation was so bad on some worlds that The Crime Hunters ignored the galaxy wide taboo on Disruptors, finding it a very silly rule like many of their people did. Many worlds would have slid into anarchy completely had the Crime Hunters not intervened. No two Crime Hunter Pistol's were built exacty alike. This particular one seems to be a highly ornate Officer's model, a very experimental weapon that can be a laser, a charric, or a disruptor...very experimental...and very illegal if found in a disruptor configuration...which it of course comes with tailor made conversion kits. The pistol-shotgun is not just a great anti-forcer weapon, its a great anti-Mandalorian weapon as well, as part of The Crime Hunters mandate was to bring to justice Mandalorians who were guilty in the collective eyes of their people of commiting war crimes on the scale of the ancient Mandalorian scientist Demagol. Indeed, to this day, for certain Mandalorians, to be shot and killed by a pistol known to be built by a Crime Hunter, a certain stigma is attached--it is seen as a posthumous judgment of dishonor upon the victim by a weapon built by the truly righteous.
The Crime Hunters did not survive the end of the second century of the Four Hundred Year Darkness. After they drove the newly arisen Cult of The Brain Demon from Commenor, homeworld of deposed Queen [member="Kay Larr"] , The Cult declared a blood feud with the guild. The Crime Hunters fought valiantly, even to the end stopping many of the cults more sinister and horrifying plots, but were in the end driven to extinction, many of their remaining weapons taken as trophies by the victorious cult and perverted with evil magics for their own use. Very few Crime Hunter Pistols escaped the cult's seizure of them and are considered priceless relics of the finest craftsmanship, especially for any Mandalorian lucky enough to acquire such a weapon. The death of the Crime Hunters outraged some of their strongest patrons, one of them being the Force Sensitive De Lifte Family of Commenor. The Last Stand of The Crime Hunters on Kar Shian inspired them to hone their Force Talents to the way of The Jedi and battle the cult throughout the third century and near the end of the fourth century of the Darkness.
This particular pistol was given to Laertia as a personal gift by Ursula Sandraven, her Jedi Master, after Laertia defeated a Mandalorian Sith in battle.
