I've been approached by Vulkan to do peace talks at Obroa-skai. This was set up, sort of, in the Roche thread, which appears to be grinding to a halt, more or less. That being the case, he wants to get into peace negotiations with us, so we need to figure out how we want to play this.

Janira will be going, but we will need other senators involved as well. So who wants to be involved?

To put this into some context, the Jedi Order has bad relations with the Mandalorians - given they only recently attacked us on Ruusan.

I will just chime in and remind folk that the jedi order might be there if the Rep officials want advice. But for this to hold legit ground the politicians need to step up.

Might be a good idea to wait for the SC to be elected.

Or have [member="Faith Balor-Organa"] as interim leader involved?

Time line wise this would happen right after Roche, under the circumstances. Faith is a willing prisoner at the moment, I think, but the Mangos may bring her.

If the Jedi are required to accompany the Senators, I'm happy for [member="Ryan Korr"] to be the one to represent the Order. Given we have zero political power and hold no office, nor hold any sway on Republic decisions, the Mandalorians will hopefully appreciate our broadly neutral status.

We serve the Republic - but above all we serve democracy and civilisation. Should actions like Gen's become a recurring theme, we would have to reconsider what the Code says. Despite odd hints in another thread, we are on the side of justice.

Jedi are not above the law, and neither are politicians or soldiers - regardless of rank. The Jedi too will be keen to see that not only is justice served, but it is seen to be served.

I concur. It seems politicians have become more dangerous than Sith of late. A reconsideration of the code may indeed be necessary. I suspect the results of the trial will tell us one way or another
