DESCRIPTION

The Type 2b Kyr'gal-class Starfighter is a much larger and more advanced version of the Type 2. While the performance profile remains the same between the two, in spite of the size difference, the Type 2b incorporates a Hyperdrive and associated navigational equipment for use on long range, extended missions. Often crewed by humanoids, a squadron of Type 2b Kyr'gal will rarely be sent out as aggressively as Type 1 or 2 squadrons and each squadron contains fewer of the more expensive starfighters. Much like other Dar'tome Mando'ade starfighters, the design incorporates a complex power distribution and propulsion system that enables these starfighters to adjust their performance profiles mid-engagement to capitalize on the unique vulnerabilities of their opposition. Since these adjustments can be made on a per-starfighter level, individual Kyr'gal can often surprise a pilot that has grown accustomed to the performance profiles of the other starfighters in a squadron.

And since most other Kyr'gal starfighters are crewed by droids, Type 3 pilots will often utilize their mechanical wingmen as bait while dogfighting.

DESCRIPTION

A recent addition to the range of starfighters utilized by the Dar'tome Mando'ade, the Ga'taylir'uliik-class Bes'verd Starfighter is a slightly cheaper and more optimized analog to the older Kyr'gal Type 1 Starfighters. By removing the cockpit entirely and designing the new starfighter from the ground up around the concept of utilizing a droid pilot, the new design is able to be just as cheap, just as easy to manufacture and field, and incorporate the more advanced power distribution technology of Type 2 and 3 Kyr'gal Starfighters. The design lacks a hyperdrive and is deployed en-mass on short range escort and screening missions where these droids rely on speed and numbers to overwhelm their opponents. And thanks to the complex power distribution and propulsion system built into the design, these starfighters can adjust their performance profiles mid-engagement to capitalize on the unique vulnerabilities of their opposition. These adjustments can be made on a per-squadron or per-starfighter level and individual droids can often surprise an enemy pilot that has grown accustomed to the performance profiles of other Bes'verd or Kyr'gal Starfighters.
