DESCRIPTION

The Nagai Stellar Reactor is an advanced form of reactor common to those from Besh. At the heart of each reactor is a dense, white ball of exotic, heavy elements, known as a Star Core. Though this ball of exotic matter is small enough for a person to hold in one hand, it weighs over 500lb, is highly radioactive, and requires specialized equipment to handle. Within the reactor, the Star Core is held within a containment field at the heart of a spherical chamber several meters wide. At the top and bottom of the chamber, a pair of meter-wide curved pillars protrude and each extends 1/3rd of the way to the center of the chamber, with the Star Core hovering centrally between the two pillars. When activated, the pillar below the Star Core produces a powerful beam of high frequency light waves (a laser) that aggravates the Star Core while the pillar above the Star Core effects the ball of exotic matter with a Density Projector, greatly enhancing the mass of the object as the particles it is comprised of become energized by the high frequency light waves.

As the mass of the Star Core increases and its internal temperature skyrockets, the object begins to emit a powerful gravitational and electromagnetic field. As this occurs, numerous jets built into the top and bottom pillar begin to spray a mist of liquid into the primary reaction chamber that surrounds the pillars and the Star Core. This liquid fuel is highly reactive to thermal and electromagnetic stimulant and is saturated with heavy elements. Once within the hollow reaction chamber that surrounds the two pillars, this fuel is compressed by Repulsor Fields and is kept within a "doughnut" shaped area orbiting the Star Core. Fuel is continuously added to this contained loop where the heat, radiation, electromagnetic, and gravitational effects of the Star Core cause the fuel to enter a plasma state and exert pressure against the repulsor field as it tries to expand. Once in a plasma state, the various effects from the Star Core cause the plasma ring to rotate rapidly around the Star Core, churning in on itself and creating additional thermal and electromagnetic effects as the plasma fights against the restraining repulsor field in its efforts to expand.

It is this thermal and electromagnetic energy that is harnessed by the reactor to power a starship.

DESCRIPTION

The Sustainable Warfare Suite is a complex array of advanced mineral harvesting machines and material processing plants incorporated into modern starships designed by Clan Dem'adas Corp of Engineers. The suite was initially developed by Clan Dem'adas after years of survival in Otherspace, and then further refined after the Clan's escape into Companion Galaxy Besh. With the suite installed, a starship can endure prolonged operations behind enemy lines, with limited supplies and no supply chain to rely upon.

A ship built with this suite installed will incorporate numerous recycling and reprocessing mechanisms that range from Waste Recyclers and Synthicators to a dedicated Fuel Conversion Center. The ship's ventral prow will incorporate a Fuel Scoop into its design. With this, the ship will be capable of passively gathering gas and mineral debris whenever the ship passes through a nebula, a dusty asteroid field, or the upper atmosphere of a planet. Once raw materials have been gathered, these materials will be sorted into various processing facilities scattered throughout the ship. When repairs are needed, materials will be transported to various Synthicators so that replacement parts and ammunition can be manufactured. When fuel is needed, gathered gases and minerals will be transported to the ship's Solid Fuel Converters to be processed into a weak, but usable fuel source that can be used to power energy weapons or Ion Drives. This weak fuel source enables a ship to operate at a reduced capacity until a more suitable fuel source can be obtained. Alternatively, if time permits, this weak fuel can be pumped through Chemical churners and Impact Sifter to be mixed with more robust chemicals, or even Hypermatter, to produce standard Fuel Cores.

Unique to this suite is the Hypermatter Fuel Scoop, a device that functions similarly to a traditional fuel scoop, but only does so when the ship is traveling through Hyperspace at low speeds. When a ship equipped with a Hypermatter Fuel Scoop travels through Hyperspace at a Hyperdrive Rating of 1 or slower, the ship will be able to open a number of hatches on the exterior of the vessel that will siphon a small amount of Hypermatter directly from Hyperspace. When operating at a Hyperdrive Rating of 5 or slower, a starship utilizing a Hypermatter Fuel Scoop can gather more fuel than it uses when traveling through Hyperspace, so long as the ship travels for a significant enough length of time to account for the fuel used when entering or exiting Hyperspace.

DESCRIPTION

Like innumerable other military technologies, the WADAR sensor suite began as a purely scientific apparatus. Designed to detect and monitor {CLASSIFIED} to detect the flow of dark matter, gravitrons, and various other elements important to academia, the experimental sensor suite caught the attention of military engineers when academics began to demand that large sections of sky be kept clear of ships utilizing Etheric Rudders, as their use disturbed {CLASSIFIED} and interrupted the academics' research. Upon further investigation by military engineers, it became apparent that much like how a boat traveling through water will leave a disturbance in its wake, a ship utilizing Etheric Rudders to maneuver will leave a trail of disturbances in the fabric of {CLASSIFIED} that can quickly and easily be detected and tracked by the WADAR sensor suite. It was later determined that these disturbances are so highly visible and easily detected by the sensor suite that wide swaths of sky at very extreme ranges could be quickly and easily monitored for the passage of shuttles, starfighters, light freighters, and other such small craft that are typically very difficult to detect with traditional sensors.

DESCRIPTION

Based upon the same experimental technology that trapped the surviving members of Clan Dem'adas in Otherspace during the time of the Mandalorian Cataclysm, the G2WGH is an advanced form of Hyperdrive occasionally produced by Clan Dem'adas Corp of Engineers. While the Hyperdrive can be utilized for conventional travel through Hyperspace, the G2WG Hyperdrive can also be combined with a unique beam emitter located at the prow of the ship to produce a gravitic disruption to the null-quantum field produced by the activation of a Hyperdrive at the precise time and location required to create a hyperspace anomaly, better known as a Wormhole.

The product of several years of experimentation with Hyperdrive technology, the G2WG Hyperdrive benefits from a much improved understanding of the quantum mechanics involved in the creation of a wormhole and is a meaningful improvement over the original design. By installing the corresponding technological marvels pioneered by Mandal Hypernautics into a much larger chassis with a highly specialized hyperspace navigational computer and much more precisely calibrated beam/field interactions, Clan Dem'adas engineers have managed to improve upon the original design and can now create wormholes far larger and far more stable than those produced by the old Keldabe Battleship prototype.
Much like the original design, the G2WG causes a Hyperspace Wormhole to be created a short ways directly ahead of the starship with an active device. This wormhole is a few thousand meters wide and is spawned into existence a few thousand meters ahead of the starship that created it. Roughly speaking, the wormhole will be created roughly one starship length ahead of the ship that created it, and will be roughly one starship length in diameter. Where the original wormhole was highly unstable and began to destabilize immediately after creation, the wormhole created by the G2WG is far more stable and will persist for so long as the ship equipped with the exotic Hyperdrive continues to charge the device, though this does cause the ship in question to suffer a severe power draw during the process and will continue to cause power deficits for the ship in question for several minutes after deactivating the Hyperdrive. So stable is the wormhole created by the G2WG (relative to wormholes anyway) that the hyperspace anomaly will persist for several minutes after the generating ship has disabled its Hyperdrive and moved into the anomaly. After that time, the Wormhole will destabilize and collapse in on itself, often sending any ships still within the wormhole to Otherspace with significant damage to their electrical and electronic systems.

While much less erratic than the original, the wormhole created by the G2WG Hyperdrive is still an incredibly unpredictable way to travel. Where the original device would create an exit point anywhere within an entire sector of space vaguely in the direction in which the ship was pointed at the time of creating the wormhole, the G2WG Hyperdrive is capable of narrowing down that exit point to somewhere within a {Hex}. A significant improvement! Similarly, where wormholes generated by the Keldabe Battleships of old would sometimes produce travel times that took several months to travel to a neighboring star system, and sometimes transport a startship across a sector in only a few hours, the wormholes created by the G2WG Hyperdrive are far more consistent and produce travel times roughly comparable to a class 3 Hyperdrive. However, due to the unique properties of traveling via wormhole, ships utilizing this unique form of travel will find their travel speeds unaffected by local hyperspace conditions. Likewise, due to the need for Hyperdrive users to exit to realspace to re-orient themselves regularly, traveling via wormhole can prove to be a significantly faster means of traveling long distances, in spite of the inaccuracy of the point of exit.

Additionally, a unique anomaly of wormhole physics would be discovered as pilgrims, raiders, and explorers of the Dar'tome Mando'ade began to explore the Outer Rim of the Skyriver with modern Clan Dem'adas warships. Should one or more operational Merrill Lighthouse be actively broadcasting in the same general location (Hex) as the intended exit-point of a wormhole created by a G2WG Hyperdrive, the exit-point wormhole will almost always come into existence in close proximity to the active Lighthouse (or other insane Pyronium Hyperspace Beacons).

NOTE: Much like all Hyperdrives on SWChaos, this too operates at the speed of plot convenience.
