STRENGTHS
- Powerful: The Cryoban Projector uses carbonite technology. As such a blast from the projector functions similar to a Carbonite Gun. As such it is capable of stunning and immobilizing anything from the standard Stormtropper all the way to a Rancor if it is exposed to enough of the synthetic coolants used to fuel the projector. It is also effective against mechanical devices up to and including tanks.
WEAKNESSES
- Limited Range: A standard Carbonite Gun has an optimal range of 45 meters, as the projector is a smaller version of the Carbonite Gun it has a more personalized range of 20 meters which also serves as the maximum range.
- Limited Ammunition: A Carbonite Gun has a capacity of 20 shots whereas the Cryoban Projector is limited to 5 bursts which while powerful can be consumed quickly if not properly accounted for.
DESCRIPTION
The Mandalorian, Naimes ahn-Dross once used a Carbonite Gun in battle against one of his kin, a Wookie in a Super Heavy form of Beskar'gam. It froze him in place completely. Since that time, the Mandalorian who favors close combat to range has modified the Carbonite Gun into a Projector variant of itself.
The Cryoban Projector functions similar to a Flame Projector such as the one made infamous by Jango Fett, and later Bobba Fett. It is of similar design to a Flame Projector and can be mounted on the arm of a Mandalorians Beskar'gam and integrated into the armors equipment. The Projector fires in short bursts and is effective up to a range of 20 meters ensuring it is best suited for close quarters combat. A single burst is more than enough to encase anything of humanoid size however multiple bursts up to and including all of the projectors coolant fuel are required for larger creatures and vehicles up to and including a Rancor. Targets encased in carbonite are not dead however they are effectively incapacitated until released.
Naimes ahn-Dross created the Cryoban Projector for himself however he could modify other Carbonite Guns using similar methods accounting for its limited production.
