Appearance
At age 24 with soft features and a slim, graceful frame, Mara still looks young enough to be mistaken for a child from a distance but once you get close enough you'll notice how the striking brown of her hair contrasts against the almost albino fairness of her completely clear skin, how she has the athletic build of somebody who never stops running around, how her glowing golden-brown eyes seem full of wisdom and knowledge, and the ethereal, mystical aura it gives her. Her presence is that of an otherworldy being, not fit for this galaxy or perhaps any other. To some this makes her intimidating, which she can be when she wants to, but most of the time she's neither looked up to nor looked down upon - simply beheld from a distance.
Mara puts a lot of effort into her appearance and a great deal of thought into what she wears because she believes that superficial or not, one's appearance has a great deal of impact. She likes to dress in a way that is subtly powerful and regal, usually in cloaked robes and gowns in witchy shades of purple or green, her favorite icy blue, or a silvery grey that symbolizes her neutrality. Her chocolate-colored soft waves are kept loose and cascading around her shoulders, partly because she likes how free it makes her look and partly because she doesn't have time for updos. When the need for practicality is greater than the desire to look like the mystical queen she tends to dress as, Mara wears her leather hunting gear or her fur hooded bodywarmer.

Biography
Pre-RP:
Mara was born on Dathomir in midwinter when Dathomir was icy and cold. Far from being a beacon of light in the otherwise frosty atmosphere, Mara is often icy and cold herself although never deliberately cruel.
Her parents, both pilots with no great amount of Force-sensitivity themselves and no knowledge of how properly to raise a child, Mara was normally left alone with poor or more often, no supervision. Once she passed the age of five she rarely had human company and so was left to find other ways to entertain herself. Her preferred way to do this was to explore. For hours or even days she would disappear, either to roam around the mystical planet she grew up on or to practice what she learned at night, when she locked herself in her room with piles of textbooks and encyclopedias including ones detailing usage of the Force and witchcraft. Through her determination, intelligence and ego, she managed to master several basic powers and spells and even one or two very advanced ones, which made her slightly arrogant.
For years she continued to educate herself on every detail of the world, earning money through whatever little jobs that she could secure - usually as a teaching assistant due to the excessive amount of knowledge she had gained during her childhood.
When Mara was sixteen, her parents returned from work to stay for a full six months due to a shortage of job offers. By then, she had become fully aware of how little regard they both had for her wellbeing and how little knowledge they even had of her or her personality, and quietly resented them for it, but she bit her tongue and politely tolerated their stay until one night, when her mother accidentally called her 'Maya' and she lost her temper, smashing a table with just the Force powers that her parents never even realised that she had. Angry and embarassed, Mara fled the household.
For a few days, Mara lived off what little money she had and slept in a meadow, determined to not have to return home starving and begging to be taken back in. Soon enough she ran into a man who was headed for Coruscant, and seeing an opportunity to make enough money to complete her training Mara used a Mind Trick to get him to take her. Once she arrived, Mara began working at a martial arts gym - she had learned martial arts and combat through both her own teachings and through unplanned encounters with the more dangerous creatures on Dathomir - and lived off of the barest amount of money for three years, saving up all the money she didn't use so that by the time she turned nineteen, she was able to live a reasonably comfortable life. She continued saving money and teaching herself until she was twenty-three, when she decided that she wouldn't be able to learn anything more on her own and returned to Dathomir.
Initiate:
After buying a house at the other end of the planet from where she had lived with her parents, Mara became part of several groups of witches in an attempt to amass as much knowledge and power as she could. She began learning from whoever could teach her anything, and in between she would visit other planets.
Personality:
Mara's dominant trait is a tangled mix between pride, intelligence, adventurousness and the desire to learn: she knows she is intelligent and this makes her want to keep on being intelligent and to always be the best. Because of this, she's full of knowledge of all sorts, very capable, a fast learner and also extremely driven. In addition, her love of challenge and discovery means that she loves to discover something that nobody had ever seen, or to come up with the solution that nobody else could see.
Although she keeps herself to herself, Mara is a natural leader who feels entitled to and desires leadership - however, it isn't a political or royal title that she feels entitled to. She honestly believes she was meant to shape the galaxy and society and that she could make it better to live in. This is her main motivation: not glory or fame or a title, but the chance to change the world and shape it on her own terms.
Mara is by no means a strict rule-abider, even though she is firmly disciplined; the rules and guidelines that seem fair to her she follows, and the ones that seem to be put in place simply to suit the ones in power she bends to her liking. She operates without being held back by laws, but still restraining herself with morals; her morals, while often odd to others, are firmly set in place and dictate a lifestyle of fairness and productivity in which she neither puts herself above others nor others above herself.
Having grown up void of human interaction until she was almost an adult, Mara has no motivation towards relationships of any kind and thus can come across as cold quite easily. She's never rude or unkind but she is very blunt, never sugarcoating or beating around the bush, and certainly never lying to spare others' feelings: in her opinion lying is for getting yourself out of trouble that you didn't deserve to be in or getting something which is rightfully yours anyway. Because of this, it's easy to dislike her if you're sensitive. She rarely meets people she wants to befriend, but when she does she doesn't attempt to change her personality because the facade would eventually fall anyway. Her romantic attractions are very few and if she decides to act on them at all, she simply states her feelings, because she doesn't know how to flirt and doesn't want to. So far, the feelings have not been returned because even though she is far from plain, it is simply hard for her to be looked at from a romantic perspective. The few times somebody has seen her that way, she has mysteriously become too intimidating for the person in question to approach her.

Strengths:
Self-taught - Mara's knowledge of the Force and of magic is largely down to her own desire to learn, making her a fast learner and very driven.
Survivor - As an explorer and a bit of a lone wolf during most of her youth, and due to Dathomir's fall, Mara can take hardships face-on.
Intelligent - Mara has a high intelligence level and a lot of motivation.
Weaknesses:
Pride/Honour - Mara holds herself in very high regard, so if she fails to meet her own standards or if anybody doubts her worth, she'll go out of her way to ensure it doesn't happen again.
Antisocial - As she spent the best part of her childhood exploring Dathomir alone, Mara doesn't have a great love of people in general and isn't much good at making them like her.
