Maramere, Where art thou?

I would like to know why Maramere and Lok are separated on the map when they are apart of the same system. Also, if there is even a legitimate reason behind it, why are they so far away from each other on the map? If they're apart of the same system then they should be alot closer to each other unless there is canon evidence saying the Karthakk system is just that large.

The sizes of the hexes on the map used to be bigger, so when it was added to the map it used to be in the same general vicinity. Recently we split the map up into smaller hexes, which makes it appear that everything is further away than it used to be.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but an older map (only one I have favorited) shows that both planets in question are in completely different hexes.

Honestly, that'd be like having two Yavins on the map in different hexes, which doesn't make much sense to the naked eye.

It is a very simple reasoning.

Lok hex at the time had more than 4 planets. No more could be added to a hex when there are already 4, therefore any additions "will be asked to move or be denied. Previously existing entries are grandfathered in."

There are many planets like this, and as map maker working a map with hundreds of planets already there, I am not going to be going out of the way to fix every one of them.

As the creator of the map, I can certainly stand by the fact that all mistakes are Alric's/Cira's doing and totally not my own.

Seriously though, there's way more mistakes than just the one you happen to bring up, people point them out all the time. Sometimes we abide, sometimes we handwave it, sometimes we just forget. It's really not a big deal, but put it in the map update thread if you think it needs changing.

We don't take Update requests as the Bible - sometimes they're rejected. But we'll consider it when Cora next updates the map, no immediate answer will be given.
