The Marcia repulsorlift generator

Intent: To provide cruisers and Star Destroyers with a repulsorlift generator
Development Thread: Massive problems call for massive solutions
Manufacturer: Ringovinda Systems
Model: Marcia repulsorlift generator
Affiliation: Open market
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Produced.
Material: Space-time knots, standard repulsorlift components, alusteel outer casing
Length: 40 meters
Diameter: 15 meters
Mass: 2,500 tons

Strengths:

- Allow ships equipped with it to be able to land
- Strong alusteel casing

Weaknesses:

- If the repulsorlift generator malfunctions, the mount ship must be serviced in orbit
- Must be mounted on cruisers and larger
- Does not negate the requirement for landing gears
- Ships exceeding roughly 800 meters in length must mount more than one

Description: Cruisers and larger ships are known to require repulsorlift generators in order to operate in atmosphere at lower levels than what is traditionally considered to be high atmospheres, let alone land on planets. It was found that, while the strength of alusteel would allow repulsorlift generator failures to be contained more easily, alusteel also imposes a limit on how many space-time knots can be encased in a single generator, and the volume said space-time knots can take up. One of the largest known repulsorlift generators in existence, the Marcia was designed to equip ships between 500 and 800 meters in length as a single unit, and is even capable of being mounted on the tail fin of an Acclamator in its socket. Out of guilt for the inability of the design team to see beyond the mounting of a single repulsorlift engine in a heavy cruiser-sized bulk freighter design, Marcia Halpern lent her name to the resulting product.
