Biography
THE TIME BEFORE COMING TO CHAOS
Marck was born on the planet of Corellia, to a simple farming family. He was the youngest child of two and was very much loved by both his parents and older sister. Sadly at the age of two, his parents, desperate to save his life from a deadly yet curable genetic disease, were forced to sell him into slavery as they could not afford the cure. As a result, he spent much of his early life not only in slavery to various masters but thinking his name was Niko Brix. As Niko, he was sold multiple times, before becoming owned by a Hutt gangster named Jango. Seeing his talent for reading other people, especially knowing when someone was lying to him or when danger was about to happen, Jango the Hutt had Niko trained as an infiltrator to spy on his rivals. During one of his missions, Niko saw an opportunity to escape his life of slavery. A passing Jedi named Spark Vallen saw his potential and took him with her to Naboo.
Niko was quickly accepted into the Jedi Order when the masters saw his potential, and Spark Vallen, feeling a connection to Niko, took him as her Padawan. Before Marck began any formal training at the temple, however, Spark decided to take Niko with her on the Jedi Order's Outbound Flight mission to explore the space beyond the galactic rim. She had previously accepted a position in the missions command structure and felt that Niko would make an excellent addition to the crew, and given his age and previous life experience, Spark understood that Niko would learn better from the action of doing what she teaches him, rather than the more traditional training the Order tended to favor. While on the mission, Niko learned the basics of the Force, making his first real connection to the mysterious energy, as well as completing the construction of his first blue single-bladed lightsaber. Before the mission could leave the galaxy, it was discovered that a Sith had infiltrated the crew and sabotaged the vessel. They were eventually forced to return to Naboo.
After training with Spark for several years, joining her on many missions, Niko was involved in repelling a major attack by the Sith on Naboo. Despite never having been in the pilot seat of a vessel before, Niko took a fighter out while chasing a Sith Apprentice. Niko quickly learned he was NOT a pilot and was well out of his depth and ended up causing a mid-air collision crashing both his and the Sith's vessel. Wounded he still managed to engage the Sith Apprentice on the ground and eventually forced the other to retreat. The encounter though left Niko gravelly wounded, and while close to becoming one with the Force, his Master Spark created a connection between them to help heal his wounds. This connection opened a door into Niko's mind where Spark discovered that Niko was actually her long-lost brother Marck Vallen.
As a Knight Marck discovered new talents, like his Sister he had a strong affinity for the mental arts, such as telepathy and empathy, and was developing these while a Padawan, but also discovered he could become a healer as well. With the guidance of fellow Knight Rianna Organa, Marck joined a group of Jedi called The Circle of Healers, who not only taught him to improve his Force Healing abilities but also helped him learn the art of healing in general helping him to become just as proficient at the talent without using the Force as he was while using the Force.
Now a Knight, Marck began helping the Rebellion against the Imperial Remnant. Along with his Sister Spark, who joined the Rebellion Governing Body and acted as the Minister of State, Marck worked closely with the Commandos Units of the Rebel Navy as well as the famous Rogue Squadron. Since it was clear that Marck was not a pilot, he helped command and support several ground missions and boarding actions with the Rebel Commandoes against both the Imperials and the Sith. Because of his considerable skill with the lightsaber, and being a skilled medic he quickly gained the rank of Commander. While helping the Rebellion he met Tyler Linaki, the then leader of Rogue Squadron, and the two became close friends, eventually, they began to develop feelings for one another. These feelings caused Marck to begin to question many of the teachings of the Jedi Order, and despite the teaching of the Jedi Code and mandates of the Jedi Order against attachments, especially romantic attachments, Tyler and Marck began to date.
Despite being censured by The Jedi Council for continuing his relationship with Tyler, as well as his assistance to the Rebellion, he was still a member of the Order and was given the opportunity to take on Padawan students. Several of his students were able to learn from him and were promoted to the rank of Knight. Some of them followed his example and embraced emotions, began to have relationships, and assisted in the fight against the Sith and Empire. Some of his students chose to continue to follow the Jedi Code of the Old Jedi Order.
Many of the members of the Jedi Order, including some of his former students, began to become dissatisfied with the continued adherence of the Council to the code of the old Jedi from The Old Republic era, especially in their passive dealings with the Sith and Empire. The New Republic and Rebellion were both still in their infancy and gaining strength. They were unable to oppose the spreading conflict between them and the Empire and Sith. As a result, several Jedi followed the charismatic Jedi Master Hawk Hinata, left the Order, and formed The Jedi Brotherhood. The Brotherhood believed in being proactive in their battles against the Sith and Empire, rather than continuing the debate on how to handle the growing conflict, they chose affirmative action thru physical intervention. They embraced the need for combat and choose to take the fight to their enemies, while still adhering to much of the Jedi Code, especially staying true to the Lightside of the Force.
While Marck did agree with many of their philosophies and would often choose to fight with the Brotherhood, Marck decided to remain with the Jedi Council and tried to help create change from within the Order. He especially continued to try to show his fellow Jedi the importance of embracing positive emotions. It was during this tumultuous time that his relationship with Tyler ended. While remaining friends they mutually decided to go their separate ways, especially as Rogue Squadron worked more closely with the Jedi Brotherhood, and Marck was more focused on his duties in service to the Jedi Council. While still assisting with the fight against the Empire and Sith, Marck resigned his rank as Commander within the Rebellion and began to focus more on his healing, working more closely with the other members of the Circle of Healers.
While on a mission to Hapes Prime, Marck met Blake Ston, a member of The Hapes Consortium and the Minister of Cultures. Marck immediately recognized his Force potential, but also his own very strong attraction to the other man. Not only did Marck begin to teach the other man about the Force and help him develop his connection with the Force, but the two started a romantic relationship. Marck started out as Blake's Master, the other man joining him on Naboo, but eventually, he had another Jedi take on the role of Master so they could focus on their relationship. The two however would split as both were taken in different directions in the galaxy, Blake focusing more on the Hapes Consortium, and Marck on the Jedi Council.
The unification of many of the different factions of the galaxy began to spread while the conflict between the Light and Dark intensified. First, the Sith Council and Imperial Remnant eventually untied together, with the Sith ruling the non-force sensitive citizens of the Empire. The newly formed Sith Empire was far more powerful than its predecessor, and a much bigger threat to the New Republic and Rebellion. Like their Darkside counterparts, The New Republic and Rebel Alliance came together to become simply The Republic. Seeing the wisdom of standing together, the Jedi Council and The Jedi Brotherhood, also again reunited under the banner of The New Jedi Order, with Hawk Hinata taking on the mantle of Grand Master. The code of the Jedi Brotherhood became the guiding code of this New Jedi Order.

Emotion, yet Peace
Emotions are an essential part of life, every creature feels emotions and to deny them is folly and eventually leads to conflict. Emotions should be embraced and experienced, yet controlled. Understanding emotions and the source of our feelings leads to the ability to choose our feelings. Part of knowing one's self is knowing our emotions.
Ignorance, yet Knowledge
To better oneself, you must seek out knowledge and shine light upon ignorance. Knowledge in itself is neither good nor evil, it is how we use the knowledge that can lead one down a dark and dangerous path, however, ignorance will always lead to destruction. True wisdom comes from gaining knowledge and the ability to use that knowledge for the good of yourself and others. Seeking knowledge also means sharing knowledge with others.
Passion, yet Serenity
Passion can lead to some of the greatest moments in life, however, passion must be tempered with serenity. Letting yourself be swept up and ruled by our passions has led to the darkest of moments in history. Passion should be embraced, but ruled by knowledge, wisdom, and serenity.
Chaos, yet Harmony
The galaxy is made of chaos, and as a Jedi, we attempt to fight against the tide, and the first step in this fight is to accept that chaos is the natural state of the galaxy. We attempt to bring harmony to the chaos and work within the chaos to create a place where harmony can flourish.
Death, yet the Force
Death is a natural part of life, a Jedi must accept this simple rule of existence. We cherish and guard every life with care, however, when one of those we care about is transformed into the Force, we rejoice and take comfort that one day we will join them.

STRENGTHS
EMPATHIC/TELEPATHIC:
Marck is an extremely powerful telepath and empath. From a very young age, Marck has been able to sense others' emotions, and as he has aged and learned from the Force this talent has only grown and expanded now including thoughts as well. He is able to communicate over long distances with his thoughts, sense others' locations in the galaxy, and able to generate illusions and alter others' reality. Marck morally disagrees with using this power without consent, he will often refuse to invade another's mind without permission and has only broken this rule under extreme circumstances.
TELEKINESIS:
With study Marck has been able to reach Master level skills in the art of telekinesis. He is able to lift and manipulate massive and distant objects as well as reach into the microscopic.
HEALER:
Marck is an accomplished healer, capable of not only healing himself rapidly but also accelerating the healing of those around him. Marck uses the knowledge he gained completing medical school, his knowledge of the Force, as well as his telekinetic abilities to increase his healing abilities.
LIGHTSABER COMBAT:
Marck is an accomplished lightsaber dualist. He is adaptive and able to switch between different traditional lightsaber forms while also improvising on the fly as the battle happens. He is also able to use unorthodox maneuvers to confuse his opponents. After the loss of his original saber, Marck created twin purple lightsabers and was able to master dual saber combat, as well as allowing his sabers to connect to form a staff saber for more aggressive saber combat, even though he isn't as strong with the staff as he is with the dual blades.
PILOTING SKILLS:
WEAKNESSES
Marck has very limited piloting skills, and it is best for everyone in the galaxy that he flies a ship as little as possible, especially after having crashed several vessels.
TECHNOLOGY:
Marck has a limited understanding or ability to use technology. He can do the basics, such as using an information screen, medical beds, datapads, and droids, but more advanced skills are outside his ability. He has in the past attempted to learn with limited success, but still prefers to interact with biological beings than technological ones. He also has the tendency to cause damage when using technology, even destroying an entire Sith Base while simply trying to pull up the base schematics on the secured terminal.
MORAL CODE:
While also one of his strengths, his moral code can be a weakness. Marck believes strongly in his moral code of conduct and often will not act in violation of this code unless even on occasion in extreme circumstances, especially his respect for the privacy of others' minds. He has allowed missions to fail rather than break this code. He does however have a strong respect for life and has bent the code in order to save people in the past.

IMPORTANT ITEMS
DUAL PURPLE LIGHTSABERS
Marck has twin purple lightsabers. The blades are designed to act either independently or to be linked together to become a staff saber depending on the situation. These are Marck's replacement sabers, after losing his originally created single blue blade saber that he had made when a Padawan, while in battle with a Sith Master shortly after becoming a Knight.
R4-T1 - "R4" PILOT DROID
R4-T1 or "R4" is a modified DUM-series pit droid. He has been programmed to be a pilot and act as mechanic and maintenance for Jedi Master Marck Vallen's Corellian Defender-Class Light Corvette the "Guardian". As part of his modifications, he has been given expanded memory space, a masculine personality type, and a unique identity that Marck has allowed to develop by not using any memory wipes. R4 has remote access to the ship's computer, allowing him to use the beck and called device as well as remote piloting. He also has access to security systems and weapons. As such he can almost completely operate the vessel while either not in the cockpit or at some distance from the vessel. However, the further he is from the ship the less access to the controls he possesses.
While R4 is a very skilled pilot and able to do most maintenance and repairs of the vessel, he has very little combat skills both while piloting and in person outside the ship. R4 has some preprogrammed evasive maneuvers, as well as basic attack and defend functions. Outside flying the ship, he can hold and fire a blaster but has terrible aim and no hand-to-hand combat skills.

THE TIME BEFORE COMING TO CHAOS
Marck was born and lived much of his life in another dimension similar to the Chaos Dimension that he now calls home. In that alternate Universe, much of the early history of that galaxy played out the same, things diverged in the timeline sometime after the Clone Wars and the fall of the Empire. The reformed Jedi Council made its home on Naboo, where it rebuilt its connection to the newly formed New Republic. Growing in numbers the Council began to change many of the old rules of the previous Jedi Order that had forbidden attachments such as family and love. At the same time, however, the New Sith Order also established itself in the wake of the fall of the Empire on Dromund Kaas, launching many devastating attacks on the Jedi Order and the New Republic. The Jedi Order began to take a more active role in the New Republic military as well as forming their own military to counter this new threat. During the last attack on Naboo, the Sith launched a weapon that opened a rift between Marck's home dimension and the Chaos Dimension, pulling Marck into Chaos. He soon discovered that not only was there no way back to his home dimension but that while similar to his home the Chaos dimension was nine hundred years ahead in the timeline of his former life. Surprisingly enough Marck has discovered that people he knew from before also exist in the Chaos Universe both in the past and present.

Crossing The Great Divide - The Sith have launched yet another attack on Naboo only a few days after their last invasion attempt in which they stole many of the relics in the Jedi Temple Archives. The Sith launch a new weapon that has an unintended side effect of opening a rift in space between dimensions. Marck while defending Naboo gets trapped in the gravity well of the rift and is sucked into the Chaos Universe.
REJOINING THE JEDI ORDER IN CHAOS
A New Beginning - Marck is traveling to different planets to upgrade his vessel to meet the latest technology within the Chaos Universe. His ship, while not old is currently over a thousand years out of date. While on the planet he discovers a young man strong within the Force and offers to take him back to the Jedi Order and train him as his Padawan.
