GENERAL INFORMATION

• Description: The Imperial Marine Stormtroopers are a specialized military unit of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps attached to the Imperial Navy, established under the direction of Grand Admiral Marlon Sularen as a means to provide Imperial Capital Ships and Warships with protection against enemy boarding parties while also providing the Imperial Navy with a class of Shock Trooper that specialize in sabotaging and capturing enemy warships in the heat of naval engagements. In addition to this the Marine Stormtrooper also acts as a security force to guard key locations operated by the Imperial Navy while also acting as the main infantry force of the Imperial Navy often being nicknamed as the "Punch" of the Imperial Navy.

STRENGTHS:

• Close Quarters Combat | The Marine Stormtroopers excel in Close-Quarters Combat considering that they trained largely to fight within the narrow halls of Warships during boarding and anti-boarding action.
• Well-Equipped | The Marine Stormtroopers are well equipped, having been provided with a sufficient amount of resources necessary for the accomplishment of their tasks
• Easy to Replace | Given their simple purpose and the basic training they receive, Marine Stormtroopers are quite easy to replace being as replaceable as the typical Imperial Stormtrooper.

WEAKNESSES:

• Basic Training | Despite excelling in Close Quarters Combat, Marine Stormtroopers have only received basic training in that field only, meaning that they will perform poorly in any battlefield that doesn't involve close quarters combat.
• Limited Experience | As most Marine Stormtroopers are comprised of trained recruits and are often considered as expendable, most of the Marine Stormtroopers lack veteran-level combat experience which could cause them to be outmatched by more skilled and experienced enemy forces on the battlefield.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In the wake of the Dark Empire's offensive into the Deep Core, the Imperial Grand Admiral Marlon Sularen would come to the important realization that while the Empire in it's current state had appeared to gain the upper hand over it's rivals in the Core Worlds, it's position in the Deep Core and within the Galaxy at large was tenuous especially with various groups both large and small starting to act against the Empire whether they were aligned with the Galactic Alliance or not. In response to this, the Grand Admiral would proceed to begin work on further strengthening the Imperial Navy while also laying the groundwork for the creation of a major project : Shadow Hand Command.

As part of this initiative, the Grand Admiral would begin transferring many of the assets he had previously commanded as the High Regent of the Final Dawn into the framework of the Dark Empire's Imperial Navy as seen during the occupation of Onderon and the Battle over Tython. However, once the Dark Empire established a foothold in the Deep Core, Sularen would take this to the next step moving forth to reorganize these assets into new units that would operate directly under the Imperial Navy. Among these units would be the Imperial Marine Stormtroopers, a specialized stormtrooper variant established by the Grand Admiral through a joint venture between the Dark Empire's Navy and Stormtrooper Corps.

Under the Dark Empire, the Imperial Marine Stormtroopers would serve as a specialized shock trooper unit directly attached to the Imperial Navy acting as both a countermeasure against enemy boarding parties and a means to capture enemy ships in battle through their own boarding actions. Through the Imperial Marine Stormtroopers, the Grand Admiral hopes to bring the Dark Empire one step closer towards securing it's future and ensure the eradication of all those who seek the downfall of the Empire.
