Marissa grew up in the typical Denon fashion. Her parents clung to whatever jobs they could find while trying to give their little girl the best chance at a future as they could. They stuck to the law, kept their heads down, and tried their hardest to pass those same views onto a young Marissa. But that simply had the opposite effect on the girl as she made friends and grew into her teenage years. Bad influences, hormones, a fascination with technology, and rebellion manifested as she started to spend more time on the streets with her "friends" and even ended up in a rather questionable relationship in the form of
Zephyrr
.
These experiences terrified her paranoid parents but taught her plenty of the inner workings of the planet as well as the "system" she lived in. Along with the rest of her group, flipping off CorpSec and spray painting their speeders became a common occurrence. Her neighbourhood, the Suicide Slums, was a horrid place infested with crime, but it was always just another day for her. "Just another day," however, turned into a full blown gang war in her area that saw a number of her friends killed and her father disabled from a stray blaster bolt.
The events of that day shocked her deeply, and her father’s disability forced a lot of financial pressure down on the Shoda family. Marissa took it upon herself to help her parents, gain some semblance of a future, and to try and make her neighbourhood a little safer. Upon finishing with school, she applied to join CorpSec and managed to pass despite her small build, restless demeanour, and rapsheet of petty crimes. What also helped her a lot was her understanding of technology and adept skills with slicing, making her a valuable asset for CorpSec.
This new development turned into another problem for the girl, when her old friends grew to despise her and see her as a traitor. Her relationship fell apart, her friends abandoned her, and her parents also disapproved out of fear for her life as a cop on a planet that despised people like her. But she pressed on, intent on doing her best and trying to help her people, despite their newfound hatred. -

Reserved but restless, and very much hyperactive. “Cricket” loves to tinker, practice her slicing capabilities, anything that keeps her on her feet and moving around. She prefers to keep quiet and pay attention to her surroundings, a holdover from her job as the lookout for her old group, but there’s always a smile and a joke locked and loaded if needed. She is also very compassionate and sports a fairly solid sense of right and wrong.
Naturally, she isn’t squeaky clean and a pillar of society. She has a knack for turning a blind eye on petty crime, knowing the desperation and thoughts that drive people to it. She is a naturally patient person, though her temper usually runs out long before her patience with people.
Another aspect with its own pros and cons is her compassion towards others. She strives to help people and improve her neighbourhood, to be a better person than what people expect from CorpSec… but her job has forced her to wear a hard face and take things one day at a time. She also lives a spartan lifestyle with most of her salary going to her parents. -

PROS:
- Freerunner: Cricket is very good at parkour and manoeuvring in awkward areas.
- Flexible: Apart from the literal sense, Cricket is also experienced in various fields such as first aid and mechanics
- Slicer: With some cybernetics to help out, Cricket is a very adept slicer and coding specialist.
- Cop: Due to her work, she is good with hand-to-hand fighting and accurate with various weapons.
CONS:- Basic: She still lacks a lot of experience and her training wasn’t top class.
- Weak: Her physical build is rather petite, resulting in laughable physical strength
- Cybernetics: Due to injuries on the job and her own choice, her voice and eyes are highly susceptible to EMP and ion attacks
- Force: While Force-sensitive she is untrained and occasionally has problems with this. She also doesn’t know it.
