APPEARANCE:A man of an average build, height, and strength, Lisadris has a rather nondescript looking appearance for the most part, usually adorned in the standard grey and black Imperial naval officer's uniform. He has brown hair with a lining of light blonde/silver on the edge of his hairline. It is his eyes that may stand out, which are actually cybernetic replacements for his original ones, as he had been born blind. Although this a secret that he keeps from most people, his eyes are artificial, and so sometimes it seems that he has a particularly strong glare when looking at people and giving the indication that he is angry even when he isn't.
PERSONALITY:
Some of his acquintances from his youth joked that when his eyes were damaged and rendered him blind at birth, the part of Markus Lisardis's brain that processed normal emotions common to humans and most species was also damaged. But unlike his eyes, which were replaced by cybernetics that allowed him to restore his vision to a level than even most humans don't have, this part of his body was never repaired. Thus the naval officer is a cold, cunning, and cynical individual, having little ability to feel empathy or loyalty. He is a pragmatic realist in the worst sense of the word and has no moral qualms about actions that many would find revolting or shameful, but at the same time that also allows him to better understand and deal with the scum of the galaxy that he runs into during military operations and also gives the man an unrestricted strategic and tactical grasp of most situations. This realism, combined with his intelligence, tendency towards calculation and long-term planning, has made him an excellent strategist. At the same time, however, Lisardis finds it difficult to connect with other people on an emotional level and remains detached.
Even as a young man he was this way. But now at the age of 37 he remains as cynical and emotionless as ever. His only try driving force, as far as others around him can tell, is ambition and something like a feeling of revenge. Mainly, while he was born and raised in Sith space, Lisardis despises their ideas of "survival of the fittest" that seems to be common among Sith in general, largely because of his own genetic defect with his eyes at birth. Inside even Lisardis himself acknowledges to some extent his hypocritical and irrational view on this issue, but he doesn't care about that. Still, on his path to power, the pragmatist realized joining the Sith military for the time being is the best way to accomplish anything like that.
Although he joined the armed forces of the Sith Empire, he feels no particular loyalty to them or anyone else, seeing his service to them as just a logical manifestation of the fact that they are currently the most powerful force within the circumstances of his life. Should this situation change Lisardis would have no mental problems at all betraying them, especially since many of the Sith ideas such as their obsession with anger and other emotions, as well as their warrior code and "survival of the fittest" attitude, the officer views as being outdated and primitive (though he seems to have missed the irony that betrayal is certainly not uncommon among the Sith throughout their history). He certainly has no attachment to the Sith in any fundamental sense but so far he has remained content to serve them as it also is necessary to achieve his own ends.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
[+] Analytical. Having demonstrated his intelligent and cunning since his youth, there are usually light years separating what Lisardis is doing and what he is thinking. He is always calculating and planning ahead, tending to say little as he is usually deep in thought, and thus is an excellent strategist.
[+] Realist. He has no moral standards for the most part (unless it's for calling out the hypocrisy of his enemies or accomplishing some other goal), capable of remaining calm and emotionless while potentially deciding whether millions of people would live or die. A realist in the worst sense of the word, Lisardis has no problem going as low as he needs to in order to achieve his ends, with ideals like "honor" being petty and outdated in his view which can get millions of soldiers killed for no real reason.
[-] Cynical. Feelings like loyalty, passion, love and other idealistic emotions are a foreign concept to Lisardis for the most part. This means that he tends to underestimate the value of human emotion and its effect on people's decision making, as he himself tends to view things like a logical computer making calculations based on numbers, and makes the mistake of assuming that other people do this as well. The naval officer also has a very suspicious and Machiavellian view of people's motivations, thus leading to natural paranoia or misunderstanding as he assumes the worst intentions of both allies and enemies.
[-] Wearisome. Always calm, rarely speaking, having a low yet aristocratic/snobby sounding voice, and opening his mouth to his superiors to tell them the blunt truth even when its unpleasant means that he basically has no charisma. Charming people is something he cannot do, nor does he bother to try, even when it is required of him for something. Thus he frequently makes statements or decisions that could be considered rude, blunt, or inappropriate (although to him it is usually impersonal), and generally tends to be distant from people.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on the world of Ukio, Markus Lisardis had a very standard and uneventful upbrining for the most part, with the exception of his genetic defect. After being born blind his parents arranged for him to have cybernetic replacement eyes installed to replace his biological ones, restoring his vision to a great degree. This is something that he has mostly kept a secret from everyone but his closest associates. Given his life circumstances, he figured that the best way to gain power and accomplish his ambitions would be by joining the military, so he attended the Naval Academy on Echoy'la, scoring high on the entry examinations. His intelligence was recognized by his superiors but they were repulsed by his cold attitude and borderline insubordination at times, leading to him being posted to a reconnaissance station on the edge of Sith space in a backwater system, although not knowing this background it was a mystery to most of the failures sent there for their careers to die why a newly minted ensign who graduated near the top his class would also be at that station.
But with Markus Lisardis, being who he was, it was not long before they started arriving at a more or less accurate conclusion. A nasty habit of being too blunt with his superiors manifested itself before long. At the same time, however, his abilities could not be denied, and eventually he was promoted out of that situation. While being posted as a weapons officer aboard an Eradicator-class heavy cruiser, the lieutenant found that his traits went naturally with the military path, especially among the Sith, and while he was disliked by most of the other crew his abilities got him promoted. By the age of 30 he had reached the rank of commander, and at 35 became a captain. Although Lisardis spent time commanding a frigate, the majority of the work he has been involved in since was staff duties at the naval headquarters, which his superiors deemed to be a more fitting place for a man of his talents instead of commanding front line ships, although he was certainly capable of that.
