- Turret; the MARV-1a sports a 50. turret capable of moving 360 degrees to allow any angle of attack. There's no running from this thing, she'll cut you down.
- Slugs; due to the turret firing slugs, enemies are oft left confused from which direction they're being shot at. Unlike blasters, this beauty doesn't leave tracer marks in the air.
- Ground-Based; the MARV-1a is a ground-based vehicle, unlike many modern vehicles it is incapable of free movement across a broad spectrum of terrains, or even simply flying over an obstacle. The MARV-1a only has one option when blocked - find another route.
- Hull; the vehicle is quite open, allowing for attackers to easily gun down the operators.
The MARV-1a is short for Multi-Purpose All-Terrain Reconnaissance Vehicle, model 1a. Introduced into the Commonwealth military three decades ago, it has become a staple of border security throughout the Cadi systems planets. The MARV-1a has shown its ferocity, with an engine that roars like the mightiest rancor. She traverses the landscape of Alexandria like a beauty, and has been field tested on a variety of environments and conditions across the system.
Unlike the light hum of repulsor-vehicles, the MARV-1a is unmistakably loud, and it is intended to be. Very rarely is it that an enemy is not aware of incoming vehicles, and so the MARV-1a plays on this. It's heavy engine as the wheels churn dirt can inspire a degree of fear in enemy troopers who're not familiar with wheel-based vehicles.
Fast & mobile, the MARV-1a is capable of scaling rocky and muddy slopes, with a swivel turret that can turn in any and every direction, engaging the enemy and staying on the move. On road the MARV-1a can reach a maximum speed of 325km per hour, while off-road can only reach 130, although such speeds off-road are not recommended. This particular model of the MARV is designed for light assaults and reconnaissance.
