- Swivel; The rear tray of the vehicle has a swivel plate similar to the MARV-1a, albeit it has been reinforced for the extra weight and thus slower in movement, nonetheless it allows complete 360 degree movement range.
- Rockets; Although limited in ammunition, the MARV-1b is designed for anti-tank operations. With a fast and agile vehicle, it can keep on the move while firing devastating tank-busting rounds.
- Ground-Based; the MARV-1b is a ground-based vehicle, unlike many modern vehicles it is incapable of free movement across a broad spectrum of terrains, or even simply flying over an obstacle. The MARV-1a only has one option when blocked - find another route.
- Hull; the vehicle is quite open, allowing for attackers to easily gun down the operators.
- Rockets; Ammunition is scarce and unlike the belt-fed turret of the MARV-1a, the rocket, although automatically reloaded, takes time to reload.
The MARV-1b is short for Multi-Purpose All-Terrain Reconnaissance Vehicle, model 1b. Unlike the MATT-1a which has had a chasis overhaul and rear tray extended into a troop transporter, the MARV-1b has only had a turret replacement as well as a feeder for the rocker launcher.
The turret is larger, bulkier, slower in movement, takes time to reload, but packs a punch. Perfect for the guerilla warfare tactics the Commonwealth utilizes, the MARV-1b can flank the enemy with speed and unload a devastating attack upon enemy vehicles before escaping.
