ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Advanced racing engines
- Cloaking device
- HIMS
- repair droids
- Additional HAPU reactor powers new systems
- Environmental control stabiliser
- Expeditious: With its unusually fast engines and hyperdrive, especially for a civilian model, the Breeze-class is perfect for the traveller in a hurry, further upgraded with parts typically used for racing craft.
- Stealthy: The addition of a cloaking device makes the ship easy to hide
- Advanced hyperdrive: The stock hyperdrive of the Breeze is exceptionally fast, allowing the ship to beat other competitors to the punch
- Lack of space: the ship already lacked space due to having a lot of space give over to comfort, now even more hardware is crammed in, a lot of the ships is taken up by a larger reactor, cloaking device and oversized engines
- Temperamental: the ship has parts from lots of different manufacturers which don't always work well together so small amounts of damage can render the ship inoperative
- Large energy signature: The amount of power the ship generates and uses is disproportionate to the small frame, to effectively use the cloaking device, most non-essential systems (see below) need to be powered down, essentially flying dark. The cloak can be used while the ship is operrrational, but will only be effective against civilian level scanners, military scanners will see right through it.
- Flying dark
- lighting reduced
- all hospitality equipment switched off
- droid charging stations switched off
- cryo weapons powered down - take around 20 seconds after decloak to power up
- Shields set to minimal levels
- Flying dark
After the success of the Gust-class shuttle, it was decided that VCH would launch a new line of smaller civilian shuttles. Unlike the Gust-class, the Breeze-class is more compact and has less potential for customisation, though these are both primarily due to space concerns. It does, however, sport similarly powerful engines and an equally fast hyperdrive, making it well suited for the traveller in a hurry.
While primarily intended to serve as a planet-to-planet transport, the vessel can be used as a long-range shuttle for capital ships, though the lack of weaponry makes them a rare choice for military vessels.
This particular model had been purchased for use in racing league and its owners had already made several large upgrades, adding the HAPU core, HIMS device and extremely powerful new engines. It was in their possession when Mairhead came looking for information and was forced to kill them. Fleeing the scene, she took their ship, the emancipator being out of system due to the risk of being detected.
Mairhead has subsequently made further modifications including adding a cloaking device and some weaponry. The ship is a temperamental beast so she still regularly uses the emancipator, despite owning a much more advanced vessel.
Miscellaneous Information:
- Crew: 1 minimum (Pilot), 3 optimal (Pilot, Co-Pilot, and Engineer).
- Passenger Capacity (Standard): 8 Passengers or 3 Passengers in remaining three staterooms
- reduced from original - 20+ Passengers or 8 Passengers in Staterooms.
- Decks:
- Cockpit: 2 seats in the front and 2 behind - central front seat replaced by weapons terminal and space at rear replaced by additional computer systems
- reduced from - three seats in the front and another four in the back
- The Cockpit is detachable, allowing it to serve as an escape pod in an emergency; it is worth noting, however, that it would be incredibly cramped if the vessel is loaded to capacity with passengers.
- Main Deck: Taking up the bulk of the vessel's open space is the Main Deck, which is also the most readily customisable part of the vessel. This is typically where the passengers spend most of their time, with the entry ramp extending from the back of this compartment. This is now largely filled with the cloaking device, new power core, internal housings for retractable weapons and other storage items
- Cockpit: 2 seats in the front and 2 behind - central front seat replaced by weapons terminal and space at rear replaced by additional computer systems
- Engineering Crawlspace: Aside from a small section where the engineer can monitor the ship's systems, most of the "crawlspace" is actually too small for most organics, being instead tended to by a complement of tiny repair droids.
