SPECIAL FEATURES

Electrified blade allows for a quick, steady distribution of heat along the surface.

When heated, blade can cut through virtually all metals that are not equivalent to Beskar.

Blade is hideously dangerous to organics and to machines.

Strengths:

Resistant to Lightsabers: Electrified Beskar makes the weapon able to parry lightsabers at no risk to itself.

Hot Blade: When engaged, for up to five minutes, the weapon gains extreme cutting power and can cleave through virtually any metal with ease. Because it is Beskar itself, it has the immensely high melting point of the precious metal.

Cook the Infidel: Prolonged exposure to the heated blade can superheat metal, meaning armored opponents could feasibly be burned badly, even if their armor holds.

Shocking Experience: If the weapon touches flesh, it can send a shock through the body of the target that can cause nerve damage or even cardiac arrest. This effect is exacerbated if the opponent has cybernetics. It can also cause short circuiting in armor and integrated technology.

Weaknesses:

- Shock risk: Because of the alternating current that runs along the weapon, touching it without insulation is not advised. When not in use, it must remain in the specialized sheath or the user and others nearby risk accident, up to and including death.

- Overheating: Due to the inherent risks of using high heat for a long period of time (i.e. warping of the metal, damaging the heating elements, etc.) the blade can only engage the extreme settings for five minutes at a time. After that, the weapon automatically engages a “safe mode” that will allow it to cool down and preserve the components. This safe mode is slaved to a twenty minute period, and cannot be overridden.

-Mirror match: Because it has the melting point of Beskar, it cannot be used to melt Beskar. This is because it would take as much time to accomplish as the weapon itself could withstand before going into safe mode, and therefore risks trading the weapon for the intended target- something the Smith felt was inadvisable.

- Handle with care: using this sword in combat requires a trained hand and a competent mind. Because of how heavy it is, and the volatile nature of the weapon, a single misstep could spell disaster.

DESCRIPTION

When Ursula came to Alkor seeking a weapon, he was pointedly taken aback. As a fledgling Smith among Mando’ade, the fact that his weapons had caught the eye of any one of the warrior people was the highest compliment he could receive. He immediately heard her out and set about designing the weapon she described from her imagination.

With help from his research team, he carefully selected the materials that would bring the nightmarish blade to life. Utilizing the Mandalorian process of micronization, he took small bits of cortosis and worked them into the circuitry, giving it an extreme charge and allowing the blade to remain constantly electrified when activated. Alkor tested the weapon’s volatility multiple times before he ultimately decided the only safe way to store the weapon would be to craft a specialized sheath, much like the one he used for his own blade, Ciryc'kar'ta.

After that, he shaped the core of the weapon from Beskar, per her request- as close to a proper Beskad as he could manage, while retaining the rest of her intended functionality. The edge of the blade had to be able to hold, so the alloy was a bit trickier. With input from his old friend [member="Atheus Voidwalker"], Alkor ultimately settled on a Beskar/Mulinine alloy, as the latter metal blessed the former with a much steadier constitution when exposed to extreme temperatures.

Unfortunately, the blade was designed in such a way that it was intended for rampaging and cutting a swath through enemies and obstacles alike- it was never intended for finesse. Despite that fact, it serves its purpose well.

He cautioned her, however- the blade is a fickle mistress, and will just as soon kill its master as her enemies.
