- Saber Countermeasure - A byproduct of the helm's cortosis shell causes most lightsabers to briefly short circuit on contact in a shower of sparks, leaving opponents open for attacks of opportunity that are incorporated into the wearer's unorthodox fighting style.
- Thought Isolation - The helm was designed as a sensory deprivation tool that isolated the wearer's thoughts away from other force sensitives, and has been alchemized to block out most force abilities which directly affect the wearer's mind and mental perception.
WEAKNESSES
- Sensory Deprivation - A byproduct of the helm's wards prevents the wearer from receiving or utilizing most mental force abilities without aid or first removing the helm.
- Brittle Defense - Made from brittle cortosis, the helm's out shell is more easily broken by blunt force trauma than most war masks, and has already broken numerous times under duress only to be welded back together after the fact. Furthermore, it's scratched reflect coating does naught to fend off hostile sensors.
- Nullifying presence - Due it's alchemical nature, the helm cannot maintain it's mental ward while caught within Force Suppressing or Nullifying fields.
The mask of Darth Anathemous was something of a controversial and unorthodox project which began during her years as apprentice to Darth Carnifex. it was later criticized by other Kainite apprentices for incorporating Mandalorian elements within it's design such the vague T-shape of the visor and distinct curvature of it's cheek-plates, elements which she insisted where accidental, and that it more closely resembles the helmets of Sith Inquisitors and ancient Sith warriors. It had been designed with the duties of a Sith Assassin in mind, being an excellent choice in fighting both Jedi and Sith alike because of it's harmful properties to lightsabers, although Darth Anathemous found equal utility in it's abilities to hide her thoughts from others, which would favor her more scholastic pursuits on worlds hostile to the herself and even aid her in covert affairs within the empire. There was a time when she hardly took it off, even before her own master.
It has seen extensive use since then, bearing many chips and scratches in it's reflec coating that reveals the rust-brown colored cortosis underneath. It's faceless visage has seen a number of Carnifex's apprentices felled by the wearer's hand, and the horrors of Echnos City under seige, where the rebirth of it's master was witnessed by Sith and Jedi alike.
