Master and Apprentice

Skylar Walker

Knight of Ren/First Order Badass
Coruscant
~
Skylar Walker was on Coruscant once more. Before she was here, she had previously embarked on a mission to Mustafar with Kyrel Ren who she was working for and a friend of his. She wasn't very fond of Kyrel's friend, but she still lived. She was on Coruscant now, to meet the new master that would be training her in the ways of the Darkside. It felt like people looked at her as a child instead of seeing the woman she is. So naturally, Skye grasped the desire for power.

Her ship just coming out of hyperspace, she flew to a town they spoke of meeting at. Skye had heard of this master before, but either way, she needed and wanted more training to prove herself within the Darkside. She was pulled from her thoughts from the beeping of an incoming message. Pushing a button, a man spoke.

"Greetings pilot. Do you have a clearance code?"

"Yes, sir. It is 33A497.."

she responded. It took a second before he responded giving her clearance to landing platform 9. It only took a few minutes before Skylar completed the landing sequence. She had to admit, she was slightly nervous of meeting this new master, but Skye was also grateful to have a master at last. It was mentioned that another Apprentice could show up, but she was unsure. Before she got off the ship, she grabbed her leather jacket, putting it over her outfit and grabbed her lightsaber, splitting it into two and putting them on her belt. Then she walked into town until she reached the location she was given.

Marcus Nichols sat at the bar of one of the more prominent Coruscant Cantinas. He wore a nice suit and drank a light ale. It was waiting patiently on a new arrival. He was not sure how she had gotten his contact information but she had requested a meeting on the terms of a potential training agreement.

He had trained quiet a few people and was always will to train more depending on their attitude and what they were looking to learn. One had to admit Marcus was unorthodox in his methods at times. Truth his he could get in an entire weeks worth of very valid training without even getting up from the stool he now sat at. Such things normally had people questioning not only his sanity but his ability.

The 18 year old Mandalorian pulled out her holophone and looked at the map. She looked at the Cantina she planned to meet him at and Skye remembered that she had been there before. Skye turned her phone off, sticking it back into the satchel she carried and continued mentally to the Cantina. Skylar wore a simple military like outfit. She wore a black crop top, black pants and a black jacket over top and then her hair was also pulled into a very simple hairstyle that complimented her well.

Soon, Skye came upon the Cantina. She took a deep breath and walked inside, looking around until she spotted a man who matched the exact description given to her. Now all she wondered is who he was allied to.. Was he part of the Ren or was he Sith? She wouldn't know until she actually talked to him. Pulling her hood from her head, she walked over to where he was and looked at him, giving him a smirk. He definitely was the one she as meeting. Holding out her hand, she introduced herself.

"Sir. My name is Skylar Walker. You can call me Skye. I was the one who contacted you about the training."

she told him.

Marcus didn't even look over at the girl when she walked up and introduced herself much less shake her hand.

"Sit down and shut up."

Marcus casually sipped his drink still not bothering to look at her much less see if she actually sat down. He didn't have to......the teenage care free nothing in the galaxy matters vibe was pouring off of her. And this is what the future of the Sith looked and acted like. It was enough to make him want to fall on his saber. Still while the old Vengeance would have already beaten the little thing to within an inch of her life...............the new Marcus was not going to do that...................yet.

Marcus finished his drink and ordered another one. All the while even though Skye probably thought she was being ignored in fact the evaluation had already begun. He was judging her attitude, her ability to adjust on the fly, and her awareness. Sure he could have been fair and given her a heads up but that was just not his style.

So he was one of the bossy type as well?? Wonderful.. She already could take note of a few things. So far, she had observed him to be a no-class type of man. At least he could have shaken her hand. Skye had to admit, she was pretty confused. When he told her to sit down and shut up, she gave a slight look before calmly hoisting herself up onto the stool.

Skye wondered what made him give such an attitude. This was what she had gotten her whole life and what she worked so hard to get rid of. She thought that she hadn't shown any resentment toward him upon approaching him. The Academy taught her how to properly introduce herself as she had done. Apparently it seemed proper introductions were childish to him. Skylar had a playful side to her at times, but her childhood was taken from her. She was practically 14 when she was 6. That was a thanks to the Academy.

Sitting on the stool, it seemed as if he was ignoring her, but she looked further and it seemed intentional. Sighing lightly as she accepted a glass of water from the bartender, she picked up the glass taking a single sip. Sure she had a temper at some point, but at some point, when didn't the Sith have a slight temper issue? Either way, she looked over to him quickly, seeing him order another drink as she drank more of her water.

Marcus quietly drank his drink finishing the second one and ordering a third. He sat quietly finishing the third drink before he spoke.

"Why are you here?"

It was a simple question and to the point. A question to which the obvious answer was the wrong one. It asked the question behind the question. That is what mattered. That is what he was interested in.

After a minute he looked over at her.

"Why come to me for training...............and what training for that matter? There are literally hundreds of other people who can teach dozens of different skills."

He cocked his head to the side still looking at her.

"Not to mention a half dozen different codes and philosophies...................which government do you represent? I am sure it has to be one of the larger powers............they are the only ones with the resources to track me down."

Skylar watched as he finished one drink after another. Three total from what she could see. Sky wasn't a big fan of drinking as the last time she drank, it got her really sick. Finally the silence had been broken between the two after a while. A single question rang out. He asked her why she was there. She hadn't really thought of it and she had to think for a second, not realizing right off the top of her head. After a second or two though, she responded.

"I came here for knowledge."

she said simply. That's what every student wanted. But it truly went further than that. She waned to enhance her powers and make her stronger, feared to others that once doubted her. Become a something out of the nothing she was. Skye had a power that was proven to not be reckoned with. She wanted to perfect it, enhance it, control it. When she looked up again, he was finally looking at her. She froze for a second, finally being able to see this man's face completely. He then asked more questions and she waited until he finished before responding.

"When I found out about you, I read about you and you seemed to be the best choice. Plus I'm with the Knights of Ren. They do have their ways of finding people."

she responded.

Marcus chuckled looking at her.

"The who of what now?" "More importantly how do they know about me much less where to find me? I haven't been active in a while. Not since the One Sith and the Galactic Republic were still devoted to nothing other than killing each other."

He turned slightly towards her.

"So what is your goal little bird and what knowledge is it you seek?"

She displayed a calm patience. A trait not very common among would be Sith or dark siders in general. He was intrigued.

Skye looked over to him as he laughed. He seemed to be serious and joking when he asked about the name of her faction.

"The Knights of Ren. They have their ways of finding people. Even the ones who haven't been active in a while. To find you, they dug very deep into the databanks until they found you."

As he turned towards her, she looked to him again and froze, being able to fully see his face. She kept the same look on her face, she just didn't move. Skye wasn't one for heavy violence, she was classically trained in the First Order. Yes, she was a weapon and she was deadly when the time came as she could eliminate crowds in seconds, she just needed training to keep things under control.

"My goal is to become an accomplished, fierce knight. Something not to mess with. As for the knowledge I seek, I harness a power that requires control. I would love to take that power and grow with it, enhance it. I seek power, strength and control mainly."

she responded.

Marcus laughed.

"You're a walking cliche with a pretty face. An accomplished fierce Knight psssh"

He openly mocked her shaking his head.

"Power, strength, control.......they are meaningless subjective terms you don't understand."

He stood dropping some credits on the bar.

"You want knowledge........here let me give you some free wisdom. Jedi, Sith, whatever in the Feth your Knights of Ren are............ they are nothing but bastardizations of a single unavoidable fact."

He looked at her for a moment before he continued.

"Politics, ethics, morality..................none of it matters...........Codes, edicts, philosophies they are all utter poodoo...none of it means anything. All that matters is the Force. The Force is universal. The Force controls everything and yet it controls nothing. We are not Masters of the Force.............we never will be...............we are servants of it. The moment you forget that...........the moment you try and control it...............it will destroy you."

He moved towards the door.

"It is yourself you must control.............not the Force."
