PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age: 32
Force Sensitivity: NFU
Species: Zabrak
Appearance: Scarlet hair cut to neck length, messy. Deep green eyes, Horns running down the middle of her scalp, with two more on the front part of her head. Ornate markings on her neck, chin, and cheek area. Old, deep burn scars covering the right side of her face.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: Q’aria Tvenes
Loyalties: Confederacy of Independent Systems, Dauntless Legion, Luna Terrik.
Wealth: Again, as wealthy as most soldiers. Not at all.
Notable Possessions: Her twin brother’s, Cahl’il’s, dogtags. She wears them around her neck at all times, and especially into every combat engagement, believing that they bring her luck in some form. Cahl’il died during the battle of Zonmira. Both him and Q’aria were privates at the time.
Skills: Master strategist, marksman, tracker, hand to hand combatant and scout. She is the much more individualistic of the pair of master sergeants, preferring small squad engagements over the large scale battles Dauntless can be thrown into.
Personality: A quiet woman with a voice that commands the room’s respect. Her personality revolves around her no nonsense, get things done quickly mentality. While her master sergeant partner, Tien, might be much more of a vocal leader, Q’aria understands the moments when to speak and when to keep quiet, offering strategic information or help at the perfectly opportune moments. The type of person to tell you exactly what they think of a situation, making sure everyone knows how bad of an idea it may be, before having your back the entire time.
COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice: Blaster Sniper Rifle, DL-18 Blaster Pistol, Tekh’la Blade (4)
Combat Function: Q’aria is not your type of commando to take to the front lines, in the trenches. She is much more at home from long range, away from the responsibilities of commanding a squad of her own. However, if she is forced into a close combat situation, she certainly isn’t helpless. A marksman with a long-range weapon or a pistol, her shots will almost always find their mark, and with her signature Tekh’la blades, a master hand to hand combatant. If Tien could be described as the hammer, then Q’aria would be described as the scalpel, expertly slicing the enemy to shreds.
Strengths:
Tactical mind: While not on the battle field, Q’aria is a valuable asset in the command tent. She has a keen eye for the minute details. There are things that the Zabrak notices that even the trained eyes of the general of the dauntless legion can miss. Her ideas may be seen as unconditional, but there were definitely ideas that she came up with that the high command put into play with impressive results.
Knife specialist: While close combat is not her preferred type of battle, Q’aria can be formidable at this distance. Trained in the art of using Tekh’la blades, her ability to not only duel with the knives but also throw them can come quite in handy during her more stealthy endeavors. She is proficient enough that Luna has begun to allow her to teach small groups of commandos in the techniques of using the knives, with the graduates of the class earning special commendations.
Weaknesses:
Cold as steel: Some might say that Q’aria is a completely unfeeling officer. And, that may be true to extent. Though it wasn’t always this way, she is known for blunt answers and unwavering need to see the mission accomplished, no matter the cost. Does that endear her to all her subordinates? No. Does it seem like she cares that much? No, as long as the mission is accomplished.
Old scars: A series of deep, old scars on the right side of her face are a constant, painful reminder to the master sergeant of her unwavering new values. While they may be old, the scars are still painful for the woman, and the sight in her right eye effected. The handicap forced her to switch to sighting with her left eye after receiving the burn scars.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Both Q’aria and her brother, Cahl’il, completed basic training for the Dauntless troopers at the young age of 19. They both graduated near the top of the class in the inifintry program and were quickly pushed into combat. For many years, the pair fought side by side, continuing to rise up the ranks as a pairing that the enemy would fear every time their forms took to the battlefield. Q’aria was a different person back then. More like her now partner master sergeant, Tien. More caring about the men and woman that served beside her, more concerned with the consequences of the missions. That was, until the battle of Copero happened.
Q’aria, Cahl’il, and their squad was assigned to clean out the buildings on the planet during the invasion. Everything was going well enough at the beginning, until they met their fate. An ambush once the entire squad was in one of the houses, left many of the squad dead. What was left evacuated quickly, which only included Q’aria and her brother. The ambushers set the building on fire, and from the inside the cries for help could be heard from the troopers still bleeding out on the floors. Much to her discouragement, saying that they should try to get back to base to finish the mission, her brother charged back into the building in an attempt to save whoever was left. He too, quickly began to succumb to the fire, and Q’aria was quick to rush in an attempt to save her brother, earning her the burn scar on her face in the attempt. All she got was the charred body of her brother, his dogtags, and a scar to remind her to never lose sight of the mission ahead.
From that point, Q’aria enrolled in the long marksman program, almost exclusively refusing to work within a squad from that point forward. If she had to, her casualty rates were many percentage points higher than officers in similar situations, but her mission completion rate was much higher. When the second master sergeant position opened up, Luna hand picked the Zabrak, perhaps to the disdain of some of the other qualified officers. However, she is valued by the general by her no-nonsense attitude, and her willingness to call out Luna if need be. She is the perfect foil to the other master sergeant and is perhaps slowly starting to find her place in the Dauntless again, a long time after losing her brother.
