Question Materials and ratings on old submissions

so with extreme rating now forcing ships tanks and other submissions to be semi unique do all previous submissions need to be remade since there is no longer the ability to modify submissions?

For example my factions AT-AE MKII

apparently not...which somewhat throws off the balance between old and new in that regard, but without the points system, you could more or less get away with a sub that has very high in practically anything, while with the older system that extreme meant you had lower stats overall in comparison... so generally speaking the impact is somewhat minimal at best

not if they're limited or higher, semi unique and unique now have the sole right on extreme stats

There will be no grandfathering, but it won't make a difference really since the defended calls hits and damage.

Ratings, while honored by most warposters and fleeters, are ultimately arbitrary and only act as a personal reference for how powerful a technology is in one aspect. They aren't enforceable, or law in any way shape or form.

A low damage rating blaster can punch through extreme rating armor if your opponent allows it to.

At the end of the day, ratings are just there as a reference, not a rule.

That said, I don't think remaking subs is worth the effort. Just talk with your RP partner OOC about stuff, and work with what your opponent gives you as best you can.

No, you don't need to remake subs that have already been made. The rules only apply to subs going forward. If, however, you remake a sub, then it needs to be made up usin hte new template.
