TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
CLASSIFICATION | Physical Support Suit, Anti-Blaster/Slugthrower, Anti-EMP/Ion, Stealth
WEIGHT | Light
RESISTANCES |
- Blasters (and other plasma type weapons): Very High
- Kinetic: Very Low (Blunt/Explosive), High (Slugthrowers)
- Lightsabers: High (Chest/Head), Very Low (Face/Arms/Legs)
- Other:
- EMP/Ion: Very High
- Puncture: Very Low (Face/Body), High (Chest/Head)
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Reinforced Phrik Support: After sustaining a life threatening basilar skull fracture and injuries to her cervical spine, Matsu was in need of armor that would provide her support and cushioning in these newly delicate regions once she was healed. Phrik carefully plated to allow her range of motion while still conforming to her head and neck not only protects against damage, but provides a firm brace.
- Stealthy: The addition of Shadowsilk and Baffleweave combined with the dark colors and light weight of the suit allow Matsu to move quietly and quickly with less chance of being noticed in those moments where stealth matters most.
STRENGTHS
No Pew-Pew: The addition of armorweave, TYI flex-armor, and phrik make this armor more resistant than most to plasma weapons and slugthrowers. The latter cannot be stopped indefinitely, but overall this suit provides excellent resistance.
No Zap-Zap: This suit is heavily modified with buffers for ionization and electromagnetic pulse weapons. Since her injuries Matsu has had many implants and cybernetics placed, making it essential none of her functionality is compromised by anything she might encounter in the field. Thus, the addition of an Arkanian energy shield and a reprogrammed ionization buffer dissipate most threats to the tech housed within and on Matsu.
WEAKNESSES
Spot Treatment: This suit provides protection against lightsabers only at the rear of the head, and around the chest and back plate. Otherwise, this remains a simple but expensive armorweave kimono, capable of skirting only glancing blows.
Lightweight: Although it is Matsu’s preference to wear lighter armors to keep her range of motion and speed, this suit will not protect her from blunt or piercing damage anywhere but the phrik plating around the head and upper torso. She has no shielding from physical blows, and weapons like knives and swords will have no problem cutting through the fabric.
DESCRIPTION
In the 164 days of violence that tore grisly wounds in to Skocha Bay, on the planet of Diyu, Matsu and her Companions had fought against the Slaves that sought their equal justice and freedom. The historic 93rd Slave Uprising, known as The Great Disobedience, was a canvas stroked with violent brushes that none involved would ever forget. She had lead raids, repelled ambushes, survived assaults from the sea and air. Matsu had stood shoulder to shoulder with her Droid and Companions in narrow streets littered with dead and ripped apart by the intensity the warfare, fought hand to hand in crumbling buildings and shattered hallways.
164 Days.
2.8 Million lives ended, with more than a Million aditional men, women and children broken and left nastily wounded.
164 Days of terror and hatred.
And in the final hours of the last battle, that saw the Hutt-Allied Slavers take back their property and put an end to this, the 93rd Uprising. 386 Thousand Sentient Lives met their end in that gruesome assault, Matsu's name nearly listed amongst them as she strode at the head of the final onslaught. Pushing the Slaves and the last glimmer of their resolve and bid for Freedom back against the crashing waves of the Ulwan Sea. Somewhere in there, riddled with wounds from blaster, knife, fists and stone, small Matsu fell. Her skull shattered at it's base, her body gone limp, and eyes lifeless. They say, by the end of that day, the water of the great Ulwan remained red for more than a month.
In a medically-induced coma for weeks, Matsu Xiangu was fitted with implants and technology that would save her life while the Droid silently watched on. The doctors had to be carefully monitored. The Sith Lord's fever dreams were having a terrible effect on all the crew present as her mentalist's powers grew out of control, driving more than half of them to madness within the first week. By the time she woke up, the rampant darkside power that she'd been too hurt to keep in check had corrupted her appearance as well.
Six-O is responsible for all the systems present in the suit. It knew that Matsu would need something that would protect those components that would support her physical recovery. After making the decision to have a bio-stabilizer implant placed under her skin and cybernetic lungs replacing the compromised organic ones, the droid set to work compiling components. Flex-armor, an energy shield, ionization buffers - it considered everything, selecting those things its centuries of experience indicated would be most useful. Underworld Industries, a New City-based company owned by their associate Lok Munin, provided the materials for the supportive system that would encase and support Matsu’s head and neck while out in the field.
The fabrics in the suit it left up to those more interested in such things: the Weavers of Kr’ylland, master craftsmen from the mysterious city in the heart of Maena’s Obsidian Deserts. Reknowned for their ability to craft and replicate fabrics, the Droids left such important details to the better versed.
Essentially, it was a suit meant to cater to Matsu’s strengths while protecting her from the threats that would compromise her new systems. A shroud of shadowsilk and baffleweave mixed with exquisite fabrics to satisfy the Haruspex’s expensive taste, this armor was not likely to make much noise and would help Matsu move quickly and quietly. In addition, her short stature meant she had to be nimble when facing larger opponents - thus, the use of fabrics like armorweave and relatively lightweight materials like phrik and flex-armor maintained her ability to move freely without compromising too much protection. In addition, all these materials would provide her excellent defense against plasma weapons and slugthrowers. The armorweave provides basic protection against glancing blows from lightsabers, and the phrik present in the casing around the head, neck, and chest is especially resistant to lightsabers.
In addition, the inclusion of an Arkanian energy shield and ionization buffer, both carefully wired through the shoulders of the suit, would protect those cybernetic and technological components that now supported Matsu’s recovery - namely, her bio-medical implant and cybernetic lungs. That it also provided protection for her cybernetic arms was not lost on the droid that crafted the suit.
However, its light weight comes with drawbacks. The suit did not do anything to protect Matsu from kinetic damage. Furthermore, being made almost entirely of fabrics, the suit provided no protection from piercing attacks with knives, swords, or similar weapons. Lastly, though armorweave has the capability to deflect glancing blows from lightsabers, a direct hit will as easily slice through the fabric of this suit as flesh. While her head, neck, and chest are protected by phrik, the rest of this suit provides only basic protection against lightsabers.
