May the Covenants Rumble [TC vs CoBR]

How the hell had they messed up so bad? How had they managed to get caught so easily? There were those who were masters at staying hidden, yet they had still been found and trapped into a prison.
The Covenant had arrived to the planet to handle a group of baddies, outlaws, criminals and just plain villains who all were known allies of the One Sith. They'd seen it as a simple way to shut down such evil things going on in the galaxy, yet they'd failed miserably.
The situation was bad, especially considering they were trapped in inhospitable landscape, put behind walls and were to fight with beasts of different kinds. Wasn't that kind of embarrassing? The Covenant tried so hard to prove themselves, to fight like powerful knights, yet now... if their reputation was not completely ruined, it was still damaged pretty greatly.
Lilin looked at the people who kept their eyes on them. It was kind of strange to see people looking at you while you were about to give your best to survive. To stay alive.
It was some kind of entertainment, she'd heard. Mostly something hutts loved watching, but it looked like these criminals were no better. She noticed them sitting amongst others. They craved for blood, for death.
With fear, Lilin looked at the cages of animals she had never even seen, from all around the galaxy. She was pretty sure the most common beasts known throughout the galaxy were present. They looked as if they had been kept without food for weeks just for this one moment -- so that they would act the most primal and hunt with the greatest skills they could, just to get food.
She looked at the rest of this group. They were friends, even though she didn't know the majority of them. And if she was going to die, there was something comforting about the fact that she would at least die alongside those who had become dear to her.
Yet she also hoped that together, they could stand against anything that was on their way.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, these children will fight for survival. They will see beasts and monsters of several kinds. These animals hunger for fresh blood, for fresh meat," somebody from the criminals stated and the voice echoed throughout the whole arena.
And then the outlaw smiled while the cages of beasts started opening up.

[ The Covenant of the Black Rose's Objective -- ? ]

All part of the plan.

Or so she told herself.

Of course Aela hadn't actually planned for this, that was impossible, but in the back of her mind she knew that whatever this was, whatever was happening, it could be turned around. Her mind worked fast, her eyes darted about the room. She tried to think about something, anything that would cheer up the others, or at least get them focused.

For a few more moments she waited, her eyes shifting slightly until finally they landed on the group of people that she called her friends. “We can do this. We can get out of here.”

It was all she could think to say. Perhaps it wasn't the most inspirational speech, but it was short and to the point, and more importantly, Aela meant it.

As soon as the cages began to open, as soon as the beasts began to snarl, hiss, and bark, Aela grasped that well of the force that sat within her. A brief flash of light covered her eyes, and her palm extended out towards the creatures. One of them hissed, then yelped, its head lowering slightly as if it had been smacked on the nose.

The next second the creature turned and bounded onto one of its pack mates.

Really, Kaia wasn’t sure where this ever seemed like a smart idea. She was a pilot, and besides that? She didn’t do much else. She was skipping on her Force training, but doing her meditations and a few exercises. When she ran into her brother next she wanted to be able to show him that she could do a thing or two besides skip using the star maps. But no, the pilot wanted to play counter-sniper for her friends, and that put her dirty side. She was hoping the Wandering Star wasn’t impounded. She should have just taken her Twintail.

It wasn’t that Kaia was a pessimist. She was just her father’s daughter in more ways than even Jared was his son. She was mission centric, and right now? The odds didn’t seem to be in their favor. Yes, it was an arena and that was a Hunger Games reference.

She wanted her rifle, she wanted her lightsaber, anything to turn the tide here. At least Aela, the fearless leader, the team’s Leonardo, was positive, even if she seemed nervous. Eyes darting.

“So… Yeah.” Was all she could say when she heard the cages starting to open. Starchaser wild talent probably wouldn’t roll successes in this situation, but the girl still called the Force to her, she had a few ideas.

Huh.

Well this was certainly an odd predicament she was in... that felt all too familiar.

"Well, this certainly harkens back to my Cauldron days." She said smiling through her helmet. In a way, she didn't quite feel like she was captured. More like... the rest of the kids got captured, so then rather than jeopardizing their lives in combat, she stood down and followed their sorry asses here. They confiscated her blasters, and Verpine Shatter Sniper Rifle with its modified remote controlling scope, but in the short time of attempting to strip her down, it was a laughable measure of disarming her.

Too feisty for her own good, they'd have to kill her to rip this armor off... and it looked like they planned to with these beasts... apparently.

"So, do I initiate Operation Break Out and knock a few karkers around, before my Protocal Droid pilots my Stealth Corvette here and picks us up Black Ops style, leaving in the comfort of my Executive Suite..." She started to say as she circled around with her fists up, waiting for a beast or something to charge at her. "Or are we doing something stupidly elaborate like last time?" Last time, indicating whatever the hell got them into this mess.

"I mean, I don't care really how we go about it, just figured I'd lay down our options in layman terms."

"I'm okay with Operation Breakout," piped in Micah's voice behind [member="Triam Akovin"], the teenager flexing the protected fingers of his gauntlets.

Aela took the first step. They would follow. "How many do you think you can knock out Tri in the next two minutes?" Here came the half cocked joke despite being in the face of incoming danger. Thankfully, he still had the bulk of his gear in the chaos that had ensued. Granted, the others likely had some of the more important items they would want to recover.

"Bet I can get one more than you." Oh it was a wager to keep good spirits up. Micah knew very well the sort of situation they were in.

"Lil," he tossed her a look over his shoulder, a brief flash of seriousness in his expression. "Stay close."

Snapping his head back forward, he saw a pair of Kathhounds bounding straight at them. Aela and Maleah were the ones far more experienced and skilled at manipulating animals. He on the other hand, well... it would be better to take care of things in the now, than wait the time to attempt any beast control.

His hand went darting up, and from his extended digits the Force would snap out tendrils of telekinetic energy. A strong Force grip would wind round the Kathhound on the left, Micah swinging his hand to smack against the other beast resulting in a high pitched yelp.

However, they were not the only beasts they'd have to deal with.

Dressel. A pleasant enough planet if you were a sight-seer. Which of course she wasn’t. Discovered by those idiot Bothans (more should have died in Melori’s opinion), it had only one point of interest. Breehara. Which was a continent.

When the guidebook states your most significant place of interest was a sub-equatorial land mass, you know the tourists are unlikely to flock.

But it had once been invaded by the Vong and Melori wondered if they’d left anything of significance behind. It was always worth a look. But after she’d landed she saw sight of some entertainment that appealed to her.

She’d been in an arena more than once and enjoyed the thrill of the fight – albeit only once was she actually allowed to kill the opposition. But the local crime-lord had apparently put on a show – or rather an opportunity to earn a lot of money through gambling.

So she took her seat amongst the baying hordes and declined the local delicacies – but bought an ice-cold beer once she was sure the cap was sealed before she parted with the credits – and took a long sip before turning her attention to the arena below. She wondered if any other of the Sisters would be here. She wasn’t the only one with the idea to look for Vong technology, so she suspected others would be around. Yet she chose not to scan the crowd just yet.

Instead she focused on the ground some way below her. Apparently the main bill was about to start.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, these children will fight for survival. They will see beasts and monsters of several kinds. These animals hunger for fresh blood, for fresh meat."

Well, they’d certainly gained her interest. And then the cages of beasts started opening up. So she drew another gulp of beer and sat back to watch.

Dressel, not too shabby as the Galaxy goes. The Rattataki sat comfortably in the seating area with a cold beer in her hand, her fingers drumming on the beskar helmet at her side and her force-sensitivity and alignment cloaked in insignificance. She appeared as nothing more than a bounty-hunter, lacking insignia on her light armour. She had come here for more than simply sightseeing. Her information network needed updates, loyalties had to be re-established, and there were always a force-sensitive or two to ship off to the Academies when you sensed them. Most of her deals were struck, and currently she was taking a day's break. It was quite curious for her to be on the spectator side of an arena for once. Even if many years had passed since last time she stepped into the ring. She moved her thumb from the mouth of her beer-bottle and took a sip while the announcer got people riled up.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, these children will fight for survival. They will see beasts and monsters of several kinds. These animals hunger for fresh blood, for fresh meat."

Children fighting beasts? Usually a bloody matter. However, something was off this time, a sensation. She straightened up in her seat and scooted forward, placing her thumb back on the mouth of her bottle to prevent anyone from sneaking substances into her drink. There was something familiar in this group, presences from past encounters. Ophidia's pale eyes narrowed as she paid close attention to the group below.

She watched beasts enter, and a flash of light burst from one of the young ones' hands. An irritating light, painful. Had she been closer, it could have been damaging. Oh yes, she could sense what they were now. Children perhaps, but Force Users of a light affinity. Her presence sunk deeper into her Force Camouflage as she took another sip from her bottle and observed intently.

In all honesty, these were the best words Asajj had heard in a long time. She'd seen violent deathmatches and arenas on the holonet, but to come and watch it in the flesh was like a dream to her. A twisted, sinister dream. The best spot had to be hers, and so she was at the front of the spectator stand. Her usual attire made her stand out from the people of Dressel, but she certainly didn't look like anything other than an excited off-worlder. What was there to worry about though? Truth be told, she had little idea what they were doing here. She knew her master, Darth Ophidia, was coming, but for what she had no clue. She didn't exactly care though, violence and death would be enough to keep her satisfied.

Cheering with the crowd, Asajj looked forward to her day at the arena...

Triam audibly laughed as [member="Micah Talith"] made his quip. That kid was funny.

"Kid, didn't dad ever tell you not to bet on something you know you'll lose?" She smirked devilishly under her helmet. If she were a man, she'd probably be a lady killer with incredibly improbably handsome good looks.

"1,000 credits says you're wrong." With that, the gambling fun began. While Micah took care of two Kathhound things, Triam decided she didn't even want to deal with those mangy animals... mostly.

One of the beasts, arguably a lot larger than the others, to the point of possibly being rideable, and probably here to gorge them rather than eat them it most likely not being entirely carnivorous despite being starved and provoked, charged her and the group. Triam needed only to jump with a short burst of her Jet to get a clear open shot at the beast from the air. Twirling her body, just so in a manner as to face its rear whilst in the air, her right arm shot forward and from the wrist over three of her fingers long ten meter cables stuck into the beast's flesh.

It roared and tried to rear its head at her, but it was useless as her fingers retracted, landing her squarely on its back.

"Wahoo!" She roared in laughter, as once again, she found herself riding atop a vicious animal that very clearly did not want to be riden. Looking across the arena, she remembered the Kathhounds which were knocked into each other, just as some more ambiguous but likely similar beasts began to prey on them. They looked well enough in control, might as well start on the guards while they were occupied.

With a set of dart launchers in both her hands and her knees (something new for her), Triam took aim at some guards up their, firing taser salvos and low dose drug injection shots. She wasn't using the Jedi-dropping drugs, but enough to make them super loopy when they woke up from being electrocuted. She fired at a half dozen of them just after riding the beast, and wrenched her right arm to the side in order to direct her mount in the direction she needed, headed towards one of the gate openings. She wanted to blow it up.

A kathhound got in the way and got ran over.

Triam was just daring, one of those spare guards to start shooting their blasters at her causing a muck of the entertainment.

What was that, twenty seconds of action? How many went down? Counting her now rideable mount, close to eight.

Beat that Talith.

The raspy mechanical breathing came as Seras walked, the garhoon's black armor glistening with a fresh coat of polish while the breathing mask sat over her mouth and nostrils. Yellow gold edges to her eyes while the exposed burns on the side of her face could be seen wrapping around her eye and nose into the mack, sections stretching to go under her ear and sever the lobe while sections of hair were missing. The black shawl pulling her hair back to expose her forehead that was pale from lack of exposure to the sun and thin black eyebrows. Her fingers tapping the cells as she was passing by them until she paused and watched the children someone had called them going out into the arena while her attention went to one of the animals they had caged. It hadn't exited and she could hear an announcer speaking. She crouched down looking at it as her hand came up letting the small sprayer gleam with its golden tip. "Well we can't have you back here." Her voice was resonating with a deep hiss before the sprayer ejected one of the psychotropic drugs from the cartridges on her arm into its face and the creature was coughing, gagging until she was speaking. The whisper of the force going for the weakened mind as the hydrastaff hissed along her arm sliding into place along the plates. "Now go and attack them." She said it while pointing and directing him into the arena towards [member="Triam Akovin"] and [member="Micah Talith"]

Right. So, maybe she was allowed a bit of her armor, because it was basically her outer layer of clothing, at least on her top. And under her jacket. Apparently they weren’t too thorough in their search of each of the Covenant folk. Still, she wanted her rifle, right now? A bit useless with this whole situation. Animals were running around and the girl fell into herself, a bit better at touching the Force and sensing what was going on, she knew she could dodge things, but that meant what? Helping the other Covenants set up traps?

Exactly.

She looked around. It seemed that the wonder pair of [member="Micah Talith"] and [member="Triam Akovin"]. Even hand to hand wasn’t going to do well here, was it? She didn’t have anything in her bag of tricks to fight this situation. The Starchaser wasn’t much of a TK master, not like that crazed uncle of hers, but she could make the space around her fething uncomfortable.

“Can anyone get me a blaster? Something?” She called out, reaching to the Force, there was a Kath hound coming at her. Right, time to deal with this. She stepped up, arms out and her head low, she was calling the Force to her and to the hound. Dark haired and lighted eyed, she watched the beast in front of her while one approached her from behind, she stepped so that they were in line, and when it ‘rawr’ striked-struck-stricked, she dove and rolled, the two hounds hitting one another.

Blaster, please? Kthx.

Sanya Val Lerium

Neutral, Queen of Her people, Neko
Sanya had been dragged along on this journey by the sisterhood, even though she had fell to the dark side she still wasn't exactly 'trusted'. Then again been an ex Jedi did that. As her identity must remain hidded she was wearing her full head mask, she couldn't be to careful these day's. Any sign of a Jedi she would be blamed for leading them into a trap no doubt.

The arena wasn't her thing but she'd had to watch while under supervision. 'Mindless fighting with no real out come, I'd rater be stabbing my sabers into stuff trying to accomplish something or even work on company stuff.' She thought to herself as the match started up.

Setzi Lunelle

Searching for Eleos's Altar
Setzi Lunelle was accompanying the Covenant of the Black Rose, a predominantly female group of Sith Lords, on this mission in an effort to become more indoctrinated into the Sith. Akin to her former life as a Jedi, if she poured her body and soul into her work and training, she presumed by osmosis, the tenants she wanted to adopt would begin to take hold of her. She still felt too much conflict to be fully comfortable where she was at the moment, so for the most part she stayed quiet and kept to herself, not speaking to the other acolytes but not being unfriendly on purpose.

On a fundamental level Setzi, knew that children fighting beasts was wrong. If anything the Dark Jedi Padawan would prefer to take the beasts back to the Temple of pain and see if she could re-alchemize them into more useful creatures somehow, beast of burden to carry artillery perhaps.

And furthermore these tow-headed padawans should be rounded up and converted into acolytes as far as she was concerned. Being a neophyte to the darkside, Setzi was not yet affected by deep-seated hatred of lightsiders. She had already rationalized her own rapid fall easily enough. Now if only the Jedi would stop meddling where they shouldn’t be. Maybe her situation wouldn't have even happened, she told herself, (somewhat irrationally).

Take the Sith Temple on Ziost, for example. For all intents and purposes, the Sith should be able to claim and occupy what had been rightfully theirs for centuries. The Citadel on Ziost had been imbued with dark magic, so strong that the most powerful Jedi in the order would not be able to expel it.

Artifacts and historical sites should just be left well enough alone, she thought. This is what Walker originally taught her as well. But in a way, it was naive to think that the Sith not use a temple, would not harness its cumulative power to inflict more damage upon the galaxy. But denial of her situation was the easiest way to deal with her new role as Sith-in-Training and in dealing with the sudden death of her sister (who was in reality was alive but captured on a pirate's ship).

Lilin couldn't keep focused on what everybody else was doing. She barely had the time to look in any other direction -- everywhere around her, beasts of different kinds were running around, trying to kill her and the rest of the group. She didn't have any weapons nor had she really learned Animal Friendship or anything that could give the power to control these creatures. There was only one way to get out of there alive and that was to rely on her own senses and bare fists. Or something like that.

A creature, resembling a Nexu, ran straight towards the girl from the distance. Lilin noticed the beast coming, but the surprise of the creature getting there so fast made her unable to think clearly. She should have run, she should have fought, she should have probably asked for somebody's help. But she did none of these things; just stood there, waiting for the predator to destroy her.

It stopped running to her a few metress before reaching the girl. It had most likely not expected to see a human so little just standing where it was and not even escaping the scene.

The girl couldn't breathe. She took in air, but there was no use of that -- she felt like oxygen didn't support her any longer and that breathing was just a tiring activity. Even fighting Sith had never been as dangerous and troubling to her. Yet a Nexu had managed to make her so afraid of dying, afraid of losing herself.

And that was not a good feeling.

Her eyes stayed on the beast and his eyes stayed on the girl -- a really weird eye contact for a very good few moments. Only then did Lilin decide it is time to do something. Her feet started taking her away from the beast, made her run away, occasionally bumping into some other beasts.

Then she looked up at the crowd of spectators. People seemed to cheer, having a good time.
