Well there's Vornskr, they're like force sensitive wolves. Then there's [member="Darth Vornskr"] he's a dog with the ladies (and occasional sith spawn)

But in a galaxy far far away where there are billions and billions of planets. I don't think it's out of the question that you can't have a dog. And if worse comes to worse you can just do it up in the species creation section.
