Description:
The Oracle Sensor Suite is a group of sensors incorporated into one centralized construct. This array houses multiple sensor types giving vessels equipped with the system full package of standardized sensors for detection and analysis. The passive sensor array housed in the suite picks up active emissions from the surrounding area without detection. Active long-range sensors are used to scan at long ranges actively pinging targets. Multiple LIDAR arrays use a light emmiting laser beam to target objects and measure the distance and trajectory. Like the LIDAR, the EPR arrays use multiple frequency light to scan and track objects. Utilizing multiple photoreceptors to the EPR in conjunction with the multiple DER arrays feed sensor information to targeting systems to aid in target solution calculations. (LFI) sensors scan for life form contacts feeding this information to computers which analyze and correlate the information to identify life form type. (HSI) arrays scan for starship hyperspace jumps. Using computers to determine a vessels mass and speed and estimate its hyperspace route. It also could scan for hyperspace based transmissions and tap into them.
The Oracle array is encased in a protective case built out of alusteel. An internal anti-electromagnetic layer is made of two layers of non-conductive armorplast sandwiching a agrinium mesh cage which channels all external electrical energy away from the internal electronics of the array. In addition all components are shielded further with a rubber non-conductive encasement surrounding a sealed layer of anti-radiation foam. Redundant power and signal transmission lines are protected in the same fashion wrapped in rubber and encased in a agrinium mesh cage.
In addition to the Oracles structural capabilities each array is equipped with a dedicated MC1011 Delphus.2-class shield projector giving it its shielding. With all these systems the unit's price is astronomical and therefore unavailable to civil and commercial customers.
