Intent: To give Mand’alor the Infernal private Genetic researchers to further RP & create an era of genetic research. To give me an NPC group to use for future gene-based & medical subs.

Role: The Darasuum Initiative is a secret genetic research group whose role is to conduct covert, most secret genetic research & implementation for Yasha Mantis, [member="Kaine Australis"] & [member="Cassiopeia Australis"].

Group Name: Darasuum Initiative

Group Sigil: The only identifying marker of the Darasuum Initiative is a single gold thread woven into their collars. This thread is nearly invisibly thin, only able to see it if one were looking or up close. This is a symbol of the common threads of purpose in the Initiative’s research, as all true markers and sigils are the fruits of their research.
Description: The Darasuum Initiative is a collection of Kaminoan geneticists, who, after enticement by Mand’alor the Infernal, emigrated to Mandalore on the promise of unhindered genetic experimentation. Upon accepting the call, the geneticists cut all ties with their home world, answered to new names and took nothing with them but their intellects. Nothing remains of their old lives, loose ends firmly tied by the Yalilyr & upon advice from the Kaminoans themselves.
A dozen geneticists answered the somber call, all chosen for secrecy, ingenuity, imagination and a lack of moral scruples. The Kaminoans also teach classes at the Ramikadyc’yaim Hall of Medicine and conduct less ethically ambiguous research in the Research Labs to maintain their cover.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
Hierarchy:
- Prima: An elder geneticist, the Kaminoan female known only as Prima is the chief researcher of the Initiative. She is quiet, dignified, and given to flawless etiquette.
- Secunda: A wide-crested male, Secunda is Prima’s research partner and oversees all the logistics for the group.
- Triota: A small crested male, Triota is the Initiative’s engineer and continues to develop the apropos technology for their projects.
- Codae: The scribes of the Initiative, the two Coda hold no rank but are the recorders and research paper writers.
- Tertae: The researchers & genetic splicers, the rest of the Initiative are ‘worker bees’ for Prima & Secunda.
Dogma/Doctrines:
There is only controlled evolution. Controlling the process of genetic evolution is the only answer to the search for truth and the ability to survive. Most cultures and races do not understand the purity or necessity to cull negative genes and splice in stronger ones. Yet, in the Infernal the Darasuum Initiative discovered a leader who desired that supreme level of scientific discovery and genetic splicing.
The Mandalorians would survive, not as one distinct race, but as the idealized genetic images of each consistent race. There is no purpose in anything but perfect genetic splicing cocktails.
All diseases, all damaging injuries and all physical weaknesses are due to genetic failure. This cannot be allowed to continued. A new path will be forged.
Curios: The only outward sign or marker of the scientists’ affiliation is a single golden thread woven into their clothing. This thread is a symbol of the common threads of purpose in the Initiative’s research.
Goals:
- To discover appropriate genetic research on splicing the genomes of various races to solve issues, diseases & weaknesses.
- To create and maintain clones of prominent Mandalorian Empire members in the case of their demise.
- To perfect the eventual creation of consciousness transfer from a donor to a clone host.
- To employ their lives to the purity of research and practical science, beyond all else.
- Mand’alor the Infernal (Yasha Mantis): The head of the Darasuum Initiative, the Mand’alor’s word and requests are law.
- Warmaster [member="Kaine Australis"]: One of only two Mandalorian Empire citizens ‘read in’ on the Darasuum Initiative, Kaine is in charge of the discovery of any tactically valuable information discovered.
- [member="Cassiopeia Australis"]: Yasha’s most trusted friend, and functional head of the Ramikadyc’yaim, Cassiopeia ensures the Darasuum Initiative has all logistical considerations are her responsibility.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Mand’alor the Infernal’s mother Aditya Mantis was once conducting chemical & biological research for Emperor Akio Kahoshi. So petrified of the beyond was Aditya Mantis (especially after surviving the Netherworld for six years), that she attempted to create an AI, which could be used to cheat death. These days of research turned into weeks, where Yasha saw her mother only by doing her ‘remedial homework’ in Aditya’s laboratories. Having only two years with her mother, before the Cataclysm claimed her life, all that remains of Aditya Mantis is her research. While incapable of conducting the research herself, Yasha clung to the concepts her mother desired to master. Yasha’s firstborn daughter [member="Adara Raxis"]’ early life was cataclysmically short and riddled with health issues. Born prematurely due to the trauma of her mother being thrown through an explosion, and surviving only four short agonizing days before needing to be healed via a singular act of the Force.
Adara continues to grow up frail of body, desiring of unnatural energy to survive. This is not acceptable.
How much of Adara’s condition was due to the nature of her birth, and how much was genetic? A child of two separate races, was Adara fated to frailty? Taking her musings to the larger population of the Mandalorian Empire, the young mother decided it was worth investigating.
Genetic frailties could not be allowed to plague the Mando’ade. Genetic diseases could not be allowed to exist. There were cures for all things, and in the Kaminoan pride of genetic tampering, Mand’alor the Infernal found her answer. She journeyed secretly to Kamino, with Cassiopeia Australis in tow. Cassiopeia’s son Dmitri was killed by pro-Ysalamiri extremists. If he could be brought back, would it be righting a wrong? Their university would become the secret hub of genetic research for the entire empire.
Yasha, Kaine & Cassiopeia would lose no more loved ones.
The Mandalorians would have freedom from disease. Those Kaminoan scientists who answered the Infernal’s call did so under permanent displacement from their homes. They were creatively eliminated from their lives (three of whom took it upon themselves to kill any who would know their faces before taking the ship to Mandalore), given new names and a new home in Sundari City, seat of the Infernal.
There, in underground research facilities, the Darasuum Initiative works from gene samples from across the Mandalorian Empire, to see where the science will take them. Their hopes are to eventually unlock various genomes and create new beings, cures for diseases and anything else which comes their way.
