With its shadowskin sheath (a black velvety cloth envelope that absorbs sensor emissions) and its micro power-cell, the Mecrosa Order Lightsaber is nearly impossible to detect until it is extracted from its sheath and activated. This stealthiness is essential to members of the Mecrosa Order, who operate in secrecy as assassins for House Mecetti. Unfortunately, there is a price for this stealthiness, as the Order's sabers have a very brief 15 minute charge. Members of the Order are not meant to get into extended duels or prolonged blaster-blocking sprees, so this is generally acceptable. But a Mecrosa agent forced to operate in unusual circumstances will need to deactivate their saber except in moments of critical need if they wish to be able to use it for more than a single engagement. Very few of these lightsabers are in manufacture, only issued to elite agents or team leaders.
