Public Meeting a New Master

Kuxirra swung through the trees around Kashyyyk's Silver Rest, the Temple where she lived. She jumped from branch to branch with surprising agility. After a while, however, she felt the Force guide her to two other Jedi, and landed near them, her bare feet making no noise. Her Master had left the Jedi, and she suspected that one of these two was to be her Master.

The Harch spoke as the Togruta hybrid jedi landed. "Greetings, young jedi. We sensed you coming. What brings you to us?"

 

[Nico Kaidshau]

Nico had done little more than patiently wait after sensing the incoming jedi. It wasn't everyday someone visited, and he wouldn't waste the meeting.

"Come, sit. What brings you this way?"

 

[Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri]

"Masters." Kuxirra bowed in greeting before sitting. "My name is Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri. My Master left the Jedi a few weeks ago, and I've been looking for a new Master. I figured the Force would lead me to one sooner or later, and here I am."

 

[Nico Kaidshau]

He scratched his chin through the beard at hearing her name though nodded softly at the news of a master leaving.

"A shame to hear of your master's departure. Hopefully they find what they seek." He spoke with care before leading into the second part of the conversation. "You can call me Master Kade. We would be glad to assist with finding a new master. What are some of your preferred studies?"

"And I am Master Ghon, and yes, what are your preferred studies?"

 

[Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri]

"Well, I'm pretty well-rounded when it comes to combat. I can fight unarmed or with most weapons." The Togruta gestured to the phrik quarterstaff at her back, as well as the small pistol in a holster attached to her belt. "I prefer the quarterstaff. I'd rather not fight unless I absolutely have to, though. In terms of other things..." Kuxirra shrugged. "I'm open to anything. I've learned some Force techniques from others, like Mist-Weaving from the last Mist-Weaver, K'narik, or how to preserve and share memories from the blue banthas."

He pondered a moment over the studies of the padawan. All of the mentioned things were a bit outside his range, but it brought another question to mind.

"Is there anything you would like to learn about?" He offered up the question. "I primarily focus on physical and meditative studies, as well as emotional balance through these studies."

He turned his attention to the other master.

"And I primary focus on combat styles and force abilities, but it's your choice."

 

[Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri]

"I haven't learned any lightsaber forms yet, but I'm watching others and figuring it out. I do have trouble focusing, but that's probably because of the ADHD. Or the autism. I love nature to the point that I have a curfew for how late I can be outside." Kuxirra said, grinning at the last sentence.

 

[Nico Kaidshau]

"Ah, lightsaber forms. It's always good to learn of them before attempting to learn them. Observe others and get a feel for it before taking a chance to practice it yourself." He spoke quietly, a waning smile on his face. "I practice form seven, specifically the Vaapad style."

"As for your focus-" His smile grew before continuing. "A good teacher will know how to keep your focus without making you feel less. I hope that has not been an issue for you before."

"Yes, it is, and I have learned over half of the lightsaber forms excluding 6 and 7. Can we see your saber?"

 

[Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri]

Kuxirra smiled as Osoca Ghon asked to see her lightsaber. "I don't have one, and to be honest, I don't feel ready for one yet. My quarterstaff is enough."

 

[Nico Kaidshau]

Nico nodded at the lack of a saber.

"Always good to know oneself." He smiled. "The forms can be learned from many teachers regardless. Most are pleased to have someone seeking knowledge."

"What are your goals in life if you don't mind my asking? A Consular? Guardian? Something else?"
