Private Meeting with the past

Endor, the Sanctuary Moon, was known for its beautiful forests and mountains. The moon had seen its share of battles, and hunters would sometimes come to hunt the Ewoks that were part of the moons population. Considering the fact that Ewoks weren’t mindless animals, the ethics of hunting them is questionable. Hunting animals was something Reggie didn’t like to do in itself, so he definitely didn’t enjoy the thought of people coming to Endor to hunt the natives for an enjoyable snack. That wasn’t why the Padawan was traveling to Endor though. Recently, Reggie had heard a rumor about an old Jedi Temple being on the moon and this peaked the young man’s interest. He was a Seeker of Knowledge after all, and what better way to find knowledge except within an old Jedi Temple?

Of course, these were just rumors at the moment. He had heard of it from Simon, who still has contacts with smugglers and traders who have seen the temple. The pilot says that the information he gets are usually reliable. Even so, a rumor is still a rumor and Reggie decided that waiting around for someone else to obtain solid evidence of the temple wasn’t good use of his time. With his friend and pilot providing assistance, Reggie traveled to the moon hoping to find this Jedi temple. If the information turned out to be false, at least he’d have the opportunity to explore Endor. The Padawan had never been to the moon and he was looking forward to exploring a new place.

It took a bit of time to get ready and travel to Endor, though Reggie wasn’t in any rush. As they transversed the galaxy, the Padawan decided to meditate. When they arrived, Simon used the comms to notify him. “Hey Reggie, we’re here.” With that, Reggie hopped up and gather his equipment before heading out of the room he was in. As always, he didn’t have much on him. He wore plain brown clothes and boots. Anyone looking at him wouldn’t think he’d be special if it wasn’t for the two lightsabers hanging on his belt, though those would be hidden from most by the cloak that Reggie wrapped around himself. He picked up his datapad on the way to the cockpit.

“Are we closing in on the area the rumors say the temple is?” Reggie asked Simon as made it to the front of the ship and took his first look out of the window. “Yup. I’m putting us down right now. I tried looking around for the temple while navigating the area, but I couldn’t see anything up here. If this turns out not to be just a rumor, then the building is well hidden.” That would make sense if the temple was made with the intent to use the forest as camouflage. They would have to search on foot and may need the force to guide them to the temple. They’d find out soon if that was the case. The ship landed and the two men took their first steps on the Sanctuary moon. Time to see what they could find.

Alive. That's how the hangar felt in this old temple. From the roar and low hums of ship engines. To the crowds that passed through of Jedi Masters and curious Padawans. Engineers with maintenance droids hurried about as they kept every ship in top condition. Ellie's blue eyes panned across the hangar as she took in the familiar sight of both friends and teachers. One of her old friends spotted her standing underneath the wing of her ship and waved. She waved back, causing the sleeve of her padawan robe to fall to her elbow. She gave them a smile before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. The smell of ship engines, grease and a faint scent of pine greeted her. For a moment, everything felt peaceful and the galaxy was right once again.

Ellie opened her eyes again, and the peaceful feeling slipped away. The only thing that remained was the smell of pine, stronger now with the added smell of decaying plant material. Silence filled the hangar where there had once been flurry of activity. No Padawans, no Masters, no engineers. Polished floors were now rusted and covered in dirt. Walls were cracked, stained and covered in vines and mosses. The bright lights that once lit the room were gone, casting everything in dim light streaming in from outside. The ships left behind were rusted beyond repair, some had even broken off the landing struts. A once thriving temple was no silent as a tomb.

The only thing that seemed to remain was Ellie. Even she wasn't the same as she was when the temple was still active. Her padawan robes had been replaced by Mandalorian Beskar'gam of her own design. She carried a few more scars and there was a weight to her gaze. The gunship she stood under had seen its share of combat and boasted the scars, scrapes and carbon scoring to prove it. Much had changed, but Ellie still came back even though this place only held nostalgic memories for her and no real sense of direction.

Another reason she came back, was that it was safe. As far as she knew, she was the only living person to know about this place. A perfect hiding spot to get away from the galaxy. Which is exactly what she was doing at the moment. She turned her attention away from where she had seen the memory of her old friends and leaned back into her chair and propped her feet up on the crate that her armor lay on. There was a lot on her mind and focusing on long lost memories wasn't going to help her.

It didn't take too long to find the ancient temple, which meant that the information they had gotten was solid. It took a bit of walking but that was no problem for the Jedi and ex-smuggler. A flame of excitement burned within Reggie when they layed eyes upon the temple, his desire to learn it's secrets growing. However, he was also saddened by the state the temple was in. It hadn't been taken care of for a long time, which was evident from the unattended walls and floors, as well as the plant growth that had taken over in some areas. This wasn't the first time the Padawan had seen a Jedi temple in such a state but he would never get used to the feeling of a place that was probably teeming with life, as most Jedi temples were, practically becoming an abandoned relic. He would have to see if the SJO would be willing to bring the temple back to its formal glory at some point. Reggie was interested in restoring, or at least preventing the destruction, of ancient places such as this. Those who tore down these ancient sites in hopes of finding something special didn't truly care about how things used to be in those times, only of what it could do to help themselves.

Before exploring the temple, Reggie closed his eyes and breathed, opening himself up to the force. He could sense the forest life around him and the affinity to the force the temple used to have. It was like an echo of the past; of how things used to be. Of course, it wasn't clear and the Padawan couldn't fully experience what it was like when the temple was active. There was something else that caught his attention though, another life form that he was sensing with the force. Was someone else here?

"I think someone else is here Simon." Reggie looked towards the area he was sensing. "Is that someone else friend or foe?" The pilot went for his blaster, but the Padawan stopped him " Reggie reached out to stop the pilot from taking out his weapon. "I don't know yet, but lets not make them think we're enemies when we have drawn weapons." Simon didn't draw his weapon, even though he would rather take his chances than not be prepared for a fight. Trying to take out your weapon in the middle of a fight could get one killed, but Reggie knew that Simon and him could draw their weapons fast enough to defend themselves. The two moved towards the hanger and saw rusted ships all around. All except one of them, a Gunship that wasn't rusted like the others, still usable. Under the Gunship was someone sitting in a chair, and a crate that had....Beskar armor on top of it? Was this person a Mandalorian? Only one way to find out. "Hey there. I hope we're not intruding, it would have been rude if we didn't say hello though."

Ellie stared into the T-shaped visor of her helmet, as if searching for answers. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even hear then duo approach until one spoke. Ellie froze at the sound of the voice. Her gaze landed at the two standing not that far away. Slowly Ellie stood up and set her helmet next to her armor. The man who spoke was courteous in manner, while the second one seemed on edge. Her senses were on high alert, even reaching out with the force to get a read on the two. "No, you're not really intruding per say. I was just....thinking."

So far the pair didn't seem dangerous, but that didn't mean she wasn't unprepared. With everything she had been through had left her ready for most things. Besides the blaster on her hip, she had her lightsaber strapped to the small of her back. Normally she never would have let anyone get the jump on her. Except now, in a place she thought was well hidden and forgotten about. Which brought her to her next question. "Who are you and how did you find this place?"

Reggie Faayare Reggie Faayare

Alright, the person was a bit cautious but that was understandable. Reggie was able to see the blaster on her hip when she stood but he wasn't worried about that. At the moment, there was no danger and he had a feeling it could stay that way as long as the Padawan didn't do anything stupid.

"My name is Reggie Faayare, I'm a Padawan that comes from the Silver Jedi Order. My friend here is Simon Geo." Simon gave a uneasy wave. "Hey there." Now to answer her second question. That one would be a bit tougher to explain since they found the place after hearing rumors about it. Not a very convincing story....but it was the truth. "This may sound a bit far fetched, but we found this Temple after hearing rumors about it. Me being the type who likes to see if a rumor like this is true or not, we decided to check it out. One thing I didn't expect to find was a person in the temple though. May I have your name?"

Ellie Omera Ellie Omera

Ellie looked between the two as they introduced themselves. She couldn't sense any ill intent between the two, especially Reggie, who used the title of padawan. This caused Ellie to raise an eyebrow some, although she shouldn't have been at all surprised given the situation. The story of how they found they temple wasn't as far fetched as Reggie thought, this place was old and she was surprised that no one had found it sooner.

"I'm Ellie, Ellie Ordo. Actually, your story isn't as surprising as you would think. This place is old, and I'm surprised no one found it sooner." She gave a small grin. Of course they hadn't expected to find anyone here. Just like she had hoped that no one would find her here. "A day of discovery I guess." Ellie paused for a moment as she looked the young man over. "You said you were a padawan. Yet you're here without your Master, how come?

Reggie Faayare Reggie Faayare

Alright, now the names were out the way. "To be fair, this place is well hidden. It may be a bit suprising that it wasn't found sooner but a person would have to walk a good distance to see it in full view." Most people wouldn't have any reason to search in the area the temple was. Or so he thought anyway.

Reggie began to let his thoughts run until Ellie asked him a question about his Master. A good question really. After all, why would a Padawan be out and about by themselves? "Well, my Master doesn't put many restrictions on me, allowing me to travel and take on certain tasks on my own. That's probably due to how experienced I actually am. I've been a Padawan for awhile now, and a lot has happened since I joined the order." Reggie stopped to think again. He probably did qualify to be a Knight, though that wasn't his decision. Besides, he didn't think he was quite there yet, even though he was experienced. There was a lot he needed to learn still, at least he thought there was. "I'd probably be here by myself if it wasn't for the fact that I have terrible piloting skills." Reggie laughed at this, having no problem pointing out what he lacked in.

Reggie did have a point, getting here would take a fair deal of walking. "That's...true. It does take a fair bit to get here." Ellie let herself relax some, these two didn't exactly seem like they wanted to cause her any harm.

She gave a faint smile when Reggie mentioned that his master gave him quiet a bit of freedom to travel around the galaxy. "I guess your master and my mentor are kinda alike in that regard." Ellie avoided using the term master on her part, just to avoid any questions she didn't want to reveal at this point. "If your going to look around this place, just watch, much of it isn't in that good of condition anymore. I've explored quite a bit of, actually. A lot of this place isn't what it used to be."
