OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Shipyards Name: Mek-Sha
  • Classification: Asteroid Port
  • Location: Mek-Sha
  • Affiliation: Blood Pack | Hutt Cartel
  • Population: Heavily Staffed
  • Size: Large
  • Profit: High
  • Traffic: High
  • Demographics: Mek-Sha is a melting pot of both cultures and species from around the galaxy, mainly the Outer and Mid rim specifically. Humans, like most places, make up the largest percentage of the population with a mixture of various other races.
  • Accessibility: The infamous pirate port is a haven for the underworld and very well known in certain unsavory circles. Even the public knows about it but prefer to steer clear lest they become a victim of piracy or worse. Anyone who is anyone in the criminal underworld knows of Mek-Sha and knows how to find it. Furthermore, they know how to gain access through its mighty deflector shield which protected the station. It is heavily guarded by various criminals and syndicates who have a interest in keeping the station and its services available for all. It sits not far from the Mara Corridor which provides it plenty of business but far enough to be hard to find for most law enforcement. Though the station isn't exactly a secret.
  • Description: Mek-Sha is built into a hallowed out asteroid in the middle of a derelict system that was discovered and claimed by the Hutt Cartel long ago. The mining operation has since turned the station into a place of service and vice for the underworld. With the right knowledge and courage, one can visit the station and gain access to ship services, gambling, drugs, weapons and multiple other vices not available among the more law and ordered space stations of legal governments. The stations main attraction is its fuel reserves and exonium deposits which it uses as its main export and attracts lots of business which then expands its own internal markets and industry.
OPERATIONS INFORMATION
  • Production: Exonium. Starship Fuel. Small craft to Frigate sized ships.
  • Specialty: The station specializes in mining exonium and refining it within its own refineries into starship fuel which it then exports on the market and utilizes to service visiting ships.
  • Output: Small craft are able to be produced and service at a quick rate so long as materials are provided. Corvettes would require longer as more crews would need to be allocated to completely the task. Frigates would take the longest amount of time with practically the entire shipyard focused on building the vessel until its completion.
  • Market: Most of the ships produced at Mek-Sha are all private market. For independent criminals to infamous crime syndicates. Their ship manufacturing market provides the station yet another avenue of income and influence. Anyone with enough credits can roll up and sign a contract for a brand, somewhat new, starship to their specifications.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Oversight Center: This is the command and control center for Mek-Sha station. It is here that the past, present and future syndicate leader(s) rule with a iron fist. The Center is located at the top of the few high rises within the bridge of a crashed cruiser long forgotten and re-appropriated as a stronghold for whoever controls the station and its fuel reserves. It is heavily defended and has a failsafe under the control of the ruling Crime Lord which could turn the fuel useless in the event of revolt or invasion.
  • Brzo's Wells: This area located in the underground of the station controlled the water storage facilities and water purification centers. It was also where the slave market could be found on the station which was well known and well used by the underworld.
  • Huttbreaker Compound: An old but extremely defended compound located at the rear of the station. Its purposes as the residence for long forgotten crime lords has long passed, now it serves as the stations garrison and barracks. Its location near the entrance to the fuel mines helps protect against any saboteurs and infiltrators.
  • Junkers Junction: This sector to the far left of the station serves as the engineering and industrial hub. It is where its factories, refineries and other logistical buildings are located which keeps the station running and its ore and fuel on the market. It also keeps the stations less fortunate gainfully employed and out of causing problems for its syndicates.
  • Home for Lost Children: As the name implies, this is the one and only orphanage located on Mek-Sha. Children whose parents went out on raids and never returned, parents who died in another shootout or industrial and/or mining accident. Instead of shipping them off world, the syndicates provide a communal fund to keep them clothed and fed. It is also a hot spot for gang recruitment conveniently enough.
  • Red Zone: This district aboard the station was located at its heart, anyone exiting the starport first came into this area. This is where the stations vibrant nightlife was situated along with its active market. From legal to illegal goods, illicit drugs, untraceable weaponry or night time companions. Everything could be found at the Red Zone.
  • Slugfall Harbor: Aptly named for its founders, the harbor is where one first sets foot when exiting their starship for the first and hopefully not the last time. It mainly serves to service and refuel ships with a dockmasters office, cantina and restaurant for those quickly stopping in for a short rest without having to set foot on the station proper.

SECURITY
Security Rating:
High

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Mek-Sha was discovered and founded by the Hutt Cartel long ago. It was hallowed out and mining tunnels were established to refine its exonium deposits for use in refueling starships without having to access the legal galactic market. This way, the Cartel was able to supply its own ships while setting its own market price. This continued for centuries even as the station itself changed ownership over the years. Regardless of who owned it, the station turned into a underworld communal effort that kept expanding and growing for mutual benefit.

Nowadays, the station still serves as a refueling and service station for underworld and independent ships, especially those not able to dock in more orderly and regulated locations. Its starship focused exports have also expanded into the market of starship manufacturing with its limited shipyard, weapon and drug trafficking, industrial capacity and has become a lucrative and well known market for anything illicit or otherwise. While it is always ran by the syndicates of various cause or ambition, the station remains a place of opportunity and a port of call for independent captains, smugglers, slicers, assassins and bounty hunters.

Anyone who can survive its streets is welcome to try their luck and spend their credits.

Hello!

I will be reviewing your submission today. Bear with me please, as I am a trainee judge so this will require a two-step approval. Thank you in advance for your patience!

I've noticed that the submission (in addition to being a shipyard) has some characteristics of a resource mine, a space station, and a spaceport. I think the submission's purpose could be better clarified if you added the size and profit categories from the resource mine template (population is covered with what you already have) and the demographics and traffic categories from the space station template (accessibility is also covered with what you already have). I would put all four of these additional categories under the setting information section.

However, I will note that these comments are just suggestions and are not required for approval. If you would like to forgo the requests, I can pass your submission along to the next stage.

Thanks!
