Description:
The Meltemi-Class Frigate is the newest offering of Silk vessels designed for the Levantine Sanctum. While most vessels are designed for joint operations between the Frontiers Corps and the Defense fleet, the Meltemi is the first ship designed to not have a double life within the Frontiers Corps. Commission by Warbird Wing, partners of Coren Starchaser, and a member of the Frontiers Corps, the Meltemi was created to fill a gap within the Levantine fleet.
As they are always working to re-establish contact with long since vanished worlds and new civilizations, the chance for running into pirates is very high. And that is what this vessel was designed. Long range turbo lasers and quad-laser turrets will keep most things off the Frigate while it dogs its target into a retreat or their devastation, it is more designed to stall the enemy in classic Starchaser combat, until more help arrives.
Light weight, the ship has a lackluster armor rating beneath its redundant shields, but does boast a handsome engine rating and will be able to respond to threats very quickly with large amounts of fire power. Not designed for an invasion force, the Meltemi is being created as the watch dog for the Levantine fleet.
