Hi everybody. Ova Ziss here.
Let's rock talk a little bit about my recent blow-up.
So, it's obvious I've got some mental health issues, right?
And I'm gonna have to get those sorted out - right?
You know me - ever the essayist. I do have a lot to say. I will say it as respectfully as possible and with no mention of any particular people or situations.
"Wtf happened"?
The reason that I freaked out "here", in this place, was because of the faction drama. I realize that there are a lot of things in the future that are coming, such as the new map, that will change things. I genuinely look forward to those changes. I'm taking this break in anticipation of those changes; so that I can sort out both my mental health and some personal stuff.
I was burnt out and under a lot of stress in anticipation of those changes and what they'd mean for the Diarchy. I was putting in way too many hours here, at work, and at school.
This isn't an indictment of any person, or RP, or faction, or process on the forums, or anything at all. It's just something that was bound to happen from my own personal burnout.
How does the RP affect your mental health?
Folks, I love to RP with you, but my actual OOC social energy is quite low. I try to talk it out, but if the other party will not talk and resorts to passive-aggression, I do not have an approach to deal with those RPers. I specifically freaked out because one person sent me a message that was akin to, "Straighten up and fly right, or say goodbye to your XYZ in the roleplay." I don't work under those conditions. Like, ever. Even at my IRL job, where the threats are quite real. Some people don't respond to threats, and I'm one of them. Sorry for the collateral damage. I hope - and in fact, I know - that when the map changes, people will put some sincere thought into whether this leadership style is appropriate.
"Why are you leaving for so long"?
I really appreciated Tefka's message about this community having always been a safe place. I feel that vibe. Chaos is a place where I could just hang out with my friends. We had conflicts yes, but we've also had a lot of joy, and moments that made me jump up in my chair and pump my fist while screaming "kark yeah".
In short, I was asked to leave. So, I'm not going to yell again. I'm not going to throw a tantrum. I'm not even going to petition for change, because as I said, the change is coming real soon! I'm just going to take a break. As much as I would love to be one, I am not a psychologist; I am not a NATO mediator; I am not a lawyer, or anyone with any significance at all. I have a crappy job at "Burger World", and I just want to RP. To the people who asked me to leave, I'm leaving. I am taking a break, as you advised. Good idea.
I deeply apologize, especially to the people who were entangled in RPs with me today. We'll be able to RP later, when things are less crazy.
What are you doing about your characters, Dantooine, the Dantooine Open, Xaraxunia, etc.?
To make this break go as smoothly as possible, here's what I'm going to do RPly speaking.

- The Dantooine Open will instead be three laps, instead of six segments and three laps. I want you racers to have a conclusion! If someone else wants to host more pod racing cups, or host more Dantooine Open races, I encourage you enthusiastically to please do so. So, racers, if you've rolled twice and you are keeping up, then please roll one more time, and then that is your race points for the thread. We will respect that the DFS-100 models in the back row all failed at once, and they'll all need to be replaced. (Dang Hutt Cartel ...).
- Ova's in exile. All of the people - mostly Diarchy people - who RPed with Ova have been contacted to resolve those RPs. If you have questions, or you feel there is outstanding RP warranting a resolution, PM me.
- Ova is not the Governor of Dantooine anymore. He is, officially speaking, now a part of Rogue Protocol, a hacking / splicing / technomancer group. He is also a "Wizard of Dantooine" (ala the Witches of Dathomir) studying the Force. The elements of the Trade Federation that are aligned with the Fifth Wing, have forcefully removed Ova Ziss from the Governorship of Dantooine. They discovered Ova's funding of RGP. Per the hex map, the Diarchy would install a new governor more aligned with their thinking. Despite this, vigilantism arises in Dantooine in the form of the Space Wolves, and the conflict between pirates and vigilantes continues. During Ziss's exile, all Dantooine-related RP will stand and be respected as canonical, even if it is contradictory. This is similar to how all endings of Elder Scrolls Daggerfall happened at once and became the "Warp in the West" story arc. I know it's not ideal from a Game Master level, but this is an outcome that respects all of the RP involved and does not invalidate anything, even events that are disputed. This is also consistent with RP judge decisions. For those asking me, the map submission is indeed correct and Dantooine is owned by the Diarchy now.
- Ova is becoming a force user at a Sayu Ni temple enclave on Dantooine. He is learning how to become a master-level force wizard. Because of his force sickness, he doesn't come out for anybody. This is what's going on during the exile period.
- Xaraxunia is getting a new set of cybernetic wings, because his biological ones were horribly blown off in a planetary bombardment. As far as I'm concerned, Xaraxunia is a war hero because of his actions to try and defend the Wookies and denizens of Kashyyyk. He would remain in Kashyyyk until he recovered, and then he would hide away in Nar Shaddaa, to work for the Hutts as a bounty hunter. I am not sure where to go with Xar, but he will definitely make a return once I'm feeling better.
