- Cutting power: Cuts through just about anything except for specific metals or substances.
- Crossguard: This function provides better defensive uses, and can be used in a pinch for offensive tactics.
- Bulky: Slightly heavier hilt allows for the better bashing of noses.
- Volatile: The lightsaber blade and crossguard blades are volatile. Striking a surface for prolonged exposure can cause the electromagnetic loop holding the plasma in its shape to break. Thus releasing the plasma everywhere.
- Crossguard: The crossguard can be used for better functions, but if the user is not trained, or forced into compact and tight quarters when using the saber, one could find it difficult to use.

Thus while plasma may fling in every direction, the user is now "unarmed" due to the lightsaber being turned off.
- Cutting power: While the lightsaber is impressive, it can still be shorted out by Cortosis, and defended against with various force abilities as well as lightsaber resistant metals, and compounds.
- Plasma Everywhere: While plasma can get everywhere, it will get everywhere Including the user, allies or anyone in the potential area.
For a Force hunter, and specifically hunting down one for his Master, Mentyor needs to be able to fight them on a more even playing field. Thus, his master has procured a lightsaber for him to use. Much larger to suit his size, as well as his prowess, The crossguard lightsaber is perfect for his use. Allowing for heavier blows than that of the average saber.
