The workshop used to be a gang hideout and headquarters. As such it doubled both as a living arrangement and as a workplace, where the Scavs fixed their vehicles, repaired their weaponry and conducted their unethical cybernetics extraction operations. The latter of which was not very interesting to Mercy, but has been left in place. Mostly to serve as a potential source for side-parts or to sell off equipment later on. The garage attached to the workshop is a different matter. Rusty, rough around the edges, but still relatively high-tech to allow for a limited amount of sentients to operate a full restoration project on broken vehicles and even to manufacture those on the smaller end. It is clear the Scavs had high ambitions and were in the process of upgrading the garage into a fully-functional automated factory site, yet, they were sadly interrupted in their efforts.
Maybe something for the future.
If Mercy doesn't lose interest in this project before that time anyway.
RATIONALE
Mercy's Machineries came to be during a job out in the Moonfall District. Mercy came across an abandoned workshop overrun by Scavs, cyborgs that were abducting people to sell-off their organs and potential cybernetics. Usually Mercy didn't have a problem with that. Except that they believed she'd be a great specimen to crack open. As usually happens when Mercy gets challenged in such a way... she reacted adversely. A few hours later the workshop was cleared from the gang and Mercy realized that she had been working on Denon for a while now. It made sense to have a place she could call her own.
Why not this one?
She called in a few favors to help with the clean-up, had some maintenance done for the machinery and settled-in. At times she found herself bored (mostly in between jobs) and began tinkering with the vehicles left from the Scavs. With some surprise Mercy realized she had a knack for it. While reading never appealed to her, the manuals of the speeder bikes actually interested her.
Soon after Mercy decided to start selling some of the tuned-up bikes she repaired.
