Mere

Species Farghul Gender Female (She/her) Age 22 Height/Weight 166cm/49kg Force sensitive Yes (apprentice)
The cat-people of Farrfin are svelte and agile, characteristics Mere possesses herself. However, unlike most of her kin, her fur is not the color of sand, but rather, a soft grey, as are her large feline eyes. The Farghul keeps her stormy grey hair long, usually pulled into a ponytail behind her head, showing off her large triangular ears and the small tufts of fur that top their peaks.

Mere is a creature comforted by ritual. Her peace is found within the soothing familiarity of routine, and when troubled, she retreats to repetitive actions that ground her. A keen problem-solver, the Faeghul prefers to linger in restraint, observing all possible variations and outcomes, before acting.
Perhaps it comes with the territory for a Jedi - even a Padawan - to hold closely the Jedi code, and for the most part, Mere does. There is peace to be found in calming one's emotions, and from that peace, it can be easier to tap into the force. However, as with many a force user before her, Mere has felt her mind wander to the alternative. Aren't her feelings a part of her very self? Is it truly her fate to be at odds with them, for her emotional self to be an adversary forever?

STRENGTHS
- Jedi training in the force
- Telekinesis(Apprentice)
- Force Healing (Apprentice)
- Force Empathy (Novice)
- Feline anatomy
- Sharp, retractable claws give Mere an edge in hand-to-hand combat (but definitely not in pickpocketing… stop looking at her like that)
- Some humanoids can impress their peers with feats of hypermobility. For the feline races, however, such impressive flexibility is relatively common
- Maimed
- Not all wounds can be healed through the force. While Mere has mostly recovered from events in her past, one particularly devastating blow left the Farghul completely deaf in her left ear
- Sullied reputation
- Farghul have a reputation in the galaxy; as thieves, smugglers, cheats and scoundrels. While some might see past the untrustworthy catlike appearance to the Jedi within, most who see Mere (or indeed, any of her kind) would rather cross the street and clutch their credits closer to their person
- Shattered confidence
- Overcoming a tragedy may be perceived as one of Mere's greatest feats. However, shackled with the guilt of her survival, the young Jedi has been left unable to trust her own decisions, hesitating or neglecting to act when perhaps she should

[An excerpt from an old confidential report submitted to the Jedi council]
… I've studied all the reports I can find. We've received no mention of a Holocron, or ancient temple ruins being uncovered by seismic activity, on any planets in the outer rim within the last several months. The history of Master Yun's ship's nav computer shows a diversion from its original course to [REDACTED] coordinates, within the timeframe specified by Padawan Mere, but if they received communication about it, it was not recorded.
From here, I only have Padawan Mere's account, as well as what I've been able to glean through the force. She and Master Yun traversed what appear to be ruins of some kind, and were set upon by force sensitives of some sort. The energy feels corrupt, but I've not been able to confirm if they were Sith or something else. In the ensuing fight, Master Yun was killed, and Padawan Mere was subject to massive over-exertion of the force. This is backed up by her medical assessment, (files attached). In my own assessment of Padawan Mere, she has received some permanent damage from the huge encumbrance of force energy, but does not currently appear to have any corruption. Aside from the deafness outlined in her medical report, Mere is in good physical health and I expect her to make a full recovery.
It is my professional opinion that while Mere has suffered a tragedy, there is no evidence that she was at fault for the demise of her Master or the destruction of his ship. There is, therefore, no reason she should not be given an opportunity to create her own lightsaber and be raised to knight by the council...
