PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Mesh'la is torn between two worlds Naboo and Mandalore. She loves both for different reasons. For Naboo it's the art, the culture, the elegance, civilisation and society. For Mandalore it's the strength, the resilience, the family, the clan, the community, the honour and the fight. Even her Mandalorian armor is a reflection of her split focus it's Mandalorian but with a Nubian chrome finish.
When with either group each seems to think she has too much of the other in her. Mandalorians think she's too willing to negotiate and talk, Naboo to eager for bloodshed. Mesh herself doesn't think it's as simple as either or, it's whatever method achieves the goals with the least amount of trouble.
STRENGTHS
Combat- Trained as both Handmaiden and Mandalorian, Mesh is a skilled warrior.
Diplomacy- As a Handmaiden Mesh is more adept at negotiation and diplomacy than most Mandalorians.
WEAKNESSES
Prideful- Mesh feels she has something to prove to both sides of her lineage leading her to take risks she probably shouldn't.
Hubris- Mesh'la is confident in her abilitieis to the point of hubris, she also tends to believe in herself regardless of what other people say. She wouldn't go so far as to directly disobey orders but she certainly believes in leaving those orders open to her interpretation. This also can occaisionally lead to her getting into situations in which she's in over her head.
HISTORY
Mesh'la was born to a Mandalorian Alor and a Naboo Handmaiden. That's what most people hear and see when they think of her. Born of two worlds, never fully accepted by either. Oh Naboo try to be gracious and accepting of other cultures, but it's hard for a culture founded on ideals of peace and serenity to fully accept a culture seemingly built off of war and conflict. What the Naboo didn't understand however was that Mandalorians were also built off of community, family, clan and honour.
For the Mandalorians it was hard to accept someone from a culture that was seemingly so pacifist it had no army or warrior culture to speak of. Let alone someone who didn't always wear the armor.
What the Mandalorians didn't understand was that there was beauty, elegance, art, refinement, culture to Naboo. A society of civilisation, beyond that of the semi nomadic existence of her Clan. A place to call home.
When Mesh'la was born the only thought that kept going through her father's mind was that she was beautiful so that's what he called her beautiful. Not the most marshal name for a Mandalorian yet too Mandalorian for the Naboo. Just like herself she felt her name belonged in neither world. Besides it was hard to pronounce for a child so she called herself Mesh and the nickname stuck.
Some used it to tease her saying she was a Mesh of both Mandalorian and Naboo. She took it as a badge of honour. The best of both.
Growing up Mesh'la would spend half the year with her father training to be a Mandalorian and half the year with her mother training to be a Handmaiden. Honestly the skills translated. Handmaidens had a little more decorum, but she was soon the best at combat in her class.
When she was a teenager more than an adult by the standards of both worlds she was assigned as a bodyguard to the Queen. An open bodyguard in her Mandalorian chrome armor red and gold in Naboo colours with a chrome finished over the beskar.
She made a splash as the personal Mandalorian bodyguard to the Queen, becoming famous on Naboo and identifiable, developing some mystique in the role, never showing her face. The adaption of Mandalorian custom allowed her to take off the helmet and go on undercover assignments for the Queen.
Mesh'la became one of the best operatives of Naboo, both in and out of her armor. One day she felt the call of her Mandalorian heritage. Mesh'las' clan was attacked by the Sith. The Clan was devastated and the entire Clan swore revenge. Mesh'la changed her armor to Black and Gold of a statement of Justice and Revenge. A political statement, one that some in the Naboo court were unhappy with. For Mesh'la she knows war with the Sith is inevitable, she just hopes Naboo will be ready for it, for when it comes her Clan will stand beside them.
