"Phrik is a metal that is hard to come by. It does provide light-saber resistance. However due to the fact it is not easily obtainable this leaves a void in the galaxy. The same could also be said of Mandalorian Iron, as only the Mandalorians have access to the stuff. Cortosis is also not an easy substance to obtain, requiring a lot of work. My best bet would be to synthesize a new metal. Hmm. What should I call this new metal? I believe I'll call it Vetronium. Now. What shall I give it property wise? Well it needs to have a good resistance to blaster bolts and lightsabers. After all if I plan on making a series of droids meant to take on Force Users it would not do for them to be easily scrapped."
Jeff paused for a moment.
"Lightsabers are a weapon that are primary melee based. They cut. So this metal needs to harden on contact with a lightsaber, providing some resistance. I don't want my droids to be unbeatable, but they need to come close. As far as weapons go this metal should be a suitable one for mass production of lightsaber resistant blades. No, hardening on contact with a light-saber is a stupid concept. In fact it is idiotic. This metal does need to be resistant to light-saber blades. But yet it will be hard to make one synthetically. I'm no chemist. I'm no geologist. "
"My lack of expertise in those areas could prove problematic to my health. I may need to recruit someone who has more skill with crafting and creating metals of various varieties. This metal should prove to be my greatest accomplishment. After all, it is made to counter the light-sabers wielded by both Jedi and Sith. Still I foresee some problems as the metal would likely be expensive to produce."
For a moment he stopped, and paused the recorder. It was recording his thoughts on the matter. For before he'd even make anything he liked to put ideas somewhere he could not lose the data on them. Plus hearing himself speak about his idea might inspire more ideas later.
"There is also of course the matter of the Force to take into account. There are many ways a metal could be warped/twisted/altered by the Force, but no metals that restrict the use of it. " This was exclaimed by Jeff as he re-activated the recording device. "Such a metal would be even more difficult to synthesize, but it could be done."
