Metallurgical Introduction

Valashu sighed once more, sitting back against his chair. His arms rested against his lap, while his eyes, bloodshot as they were, made no true movement, than again nor did they observe that which was around them. Valashu had been speaking at length, for over three hours now, to his teams on what would be beneficial as a next step.

He had secrets, ideas that could be made into motion soon enough. But they required more effort, and the assistance of Spaarti, Harley, and his daughter.

So as it was, he was slowly losing his mind. The words, ideas, were going round and round. In this perpetual motion they did not cease. One point they would touch on this idea, in a flash the next, before long back to the prior. Sometimes they jumped to new ones all together but it was rare for now.

"Adriel Daemon contacted us, says she has potentials for some more blade ideas." Said Terrence, whom sat to his right, and to which Val smiled. He had finlly managed to get a word in edge wise. This was the first new idea he had heard in about an hour, maybe more.

"Ra's Edge was a good idea, I have to admit." Valashu said, extending a hand slightly above the table before him, finger extended to brandish his agreement to this point, "But as it is, I don't feel we need wait any longer. There has to be something we can do at this point, the now." He stated.

Terrence opened his mouth to speak before the man to Val's left spoke, "Okay, sir, then I recommend we work toward armor. Some type or other, but whether it is alchemized would be to your discretion."

As the man spoke, Valashu sat rubbing his chin, then when thoughts brushed gently against his psyche, he raised a hand for silence, "No. Let's work on an alloy, one specifically for us to sell, own, be proper masters of. The Mandalorians have Beskar, and Mando Steel, so we should make our own, a MerrSteel if you will."

The response was immediate, silence from all sides, before a clap erupted around them. General enjoyment at the idea of heading a new type of alloy, but then came a quick concernation. Where would this all come from? One couldn't simply conjure new minerals, so how?

"Valashu, this could be, again, a break through for the company, since, well, the last. But it has to be asked, how will we conjure some new alloy? It can't be simply made from nothing, that's just not how it works, not life, nor alchemy or any Force based method." Terrence said, brows arched as he spoke, "So, then, how will we do this?"

"Combinations of course." Val said, matter of factly not quite covering it. His instant understanding if what they would do, the plan to unfold, was astonishing really. There always seemed a need for others to assist the train of thought. Since he had given up the Rokna his mind had cleared until he was now a different person all together.

"I will send out Alpha and Bravo teams, they can seek out rarer met-" Another man began, before being interrupted with a jerk of the hand and speech from Val.

"No, no. Full scale products, to make a full scale product." He said, then rose, reaching into his pocket to drag out the tin within. This he flipped open, bit on a cigarette he took from, then lit it. A slow inhale made him smile as he relaxed, his muscles finally drawing loose from the stress of the situation.

A pull from the cancerous stick filled his lungs once more, until he slowly blew the smoke free, "So, any things we need to say next? Or should we break and meet back here later?" Valashu asked, turning back to his table, and his crew. Each of them mulled it over, and while they did he took another drag.

"Let's reconvene in a bit. We can discuss more later on." Terrence offered, to which there was a mutual consensus. While the others rose to leave, Terrence stayed in his seat. When they were all gone, he looked to Valashu, "This is a decent idea. I like it, but I am concerned. You have been working with the Crusaders a lot recently, what happens if this stops bearing down as a Merr-Sonn material, and becomes one of theirs?"

"Terr, they have two of their own. Both of which they seem relatively excited to maintain." Valashu began, smoking leaking from his lips with each spoken word, "We will just end up having to do the same. Besides as it rests, I have a good standing with them, so far as it seems."

"Alright.. well," Terr began, "What of those? Are you looking to incorporate anything from them? We could deconstruct the steel, and use Damien's knowledge of the iron if you feel that a good idea." Valashu laughed at that, not wanting to say aloud the lunacy of worrying they will steal information, then taking their most guarded secrets to bend to his merit.

"There are plenty of other merchandise styles, long forgotten to the masses. Think about it. We were the only ones to find the kinetic armor, and things like that. At this point there are probably a hundred durable grades left lying about as if they were natural occurring minerals now." Valashu said, dropping the butt of his cigarette and stepping on it to extinguish the embers. A gesture to his friend as he walked by told him to follow behind.

"I have some major yearnings though. I want it powerful. Against lightsabers, blasters, even slugthrowers." Valashu said, glancing at the man beside him, "What's the point of wanting a metal to sell if it has no real merits you know?"

"Yeah, I guess. But then that brings it back to Beskar or like minerals, maybe Phrik. If we break them down into another compound, it would be resistant and could even be marketed as an off shoot." Terrence said, but then before Valashu could interject, Terr continued, "Then again, that would likely be to expensive for any form of sustained sales."

"Yup, my thoughts too. Anyway, one moment." A flare went through the Current at Valashu's command. He was not performing some massively grand illusion, instead it was a means for him to let his daughter know to come to him. Soon enough he could feel another white current user approaching. A touch to the knowledge told him it was she.

Jamila walked with a rebounding clack, click, clack. Her heels were sharp, stiletto, and her clothing what most fathers would absolutely hate. Lucky for her, her father did not care, as he was more than under the belief she could do what would be needed to survive, if ever she needed too. Turning a hall, she kept her gaze ahead, then with a soft flick, she jerked the large hat from the top of her auburn hair. Not that if would matter, but more a means of respect. She did truly respect her father.

"Yessir?" Jamila asked, her hat fluttering between her hands, flipping it absentminded fashion.

"Hey Jamila, sorry to call you away, but we are working on a project. You are a quick contact, one not needing to search for, or a means to actually reach. Also you know some stuff we could know." Terrence said, cutting her father off as he had begun, "Not that I speak as if your father, but I do personally know we are contemplating adding Alchemy to our potential item."

Valashu smiled down at his daughter, reaching out to pull her into a brief hug. She might look older, closer to his age than he'd like, but he knew that she was actually little more than a year old. She was his little girl through and through. After they had appropriately squeezed each other for a long second, he let her go, offering an inward sigh once he noticed her attire. He pretended to not care what she wore, but in the long run he truly did.

"Well, more or less what Terr said." Val nodded, gesturing to his companion, "We are going to copy the ideas of our Vod, by making a material that can be used in whatever crafts we deem it necessary. So far we want lightsaber resistance, blaster, slug, ya know all the major lethalities in battle these days." He paused to scratch at his upper lip for a single moment, "We have mulled over, briefly, rarer alloys like Phrikite or Beskar -"

"No, those would be too expensive. Much to expensive."

"Our thoughts exactly," Valashu stated, "So were wondering what others there are available. Technically, our next idea is easily made towards being Mass produced, as we have already done so, with little backlash to the coin purse also." Val stated, a grin touching his lips, "Alchemy."

Jamila slid her hand up the back of her neck, sweeping her hair fluently into her hand, a band around her wrist, "Alchemy would be cheaper, true, but not to a degree that would really be beneficial." She said, finishing as she tied her hair up in a ponytail," You would want it neutral, so you would need to pay for the rare materials for the alchemy." While it wouldn't be ultra pricey, she knew that to start sales for the alloy, and to go the alchemy route would require a lot of planning to work properly.

"I would recommend a less expensive route. Go the method of finding older -" Jamila began, before she was interupted.

"Finding older, less known metals?" Terrence asked, then chuckled, nodding with a solid wave of, 'he had that idea already', "Yep. That's what Valashu was saying. We already got Alpha and Bravo teams on the march for old stuffs."

"Yeah, I actually just got a few messages, according to this annoying watch." Valashu said, pressing a button on the side of his ChronoPro. As the holodisplay rose up, he began the navigation of several pages before he reached his sought arced destination. A glance made him snap, "Absorbital. Wasn't sure you guys had it in this verse!" He said, then when he noticed Terrence's confusion he elaborated.

"Absorbital is actually a plastic like substance that can coat materials, making them utterly blaster proof. It would be more than I would like though, having to layer the metal with a shell. So we would need to incorporate it more into the mix itself." After that he backed from that page, moving through the methods once more until he was at the next, "Ostrine... huh, I haven't heard of that one... major heat resistances, but there is also an altered variant that basically counters all heat..." He murmured as he read. It was slowly coming together.

"This variant is the one we will go with... OK so there are others here. A few I recognize, as we have used newer variants. But there are some good works here." Valashu said, "I guess we have them bring them all in. Make a proto test."

A couple hours later, surrounded by the heat of blasting raging furnaces, molten alloys, and burning cloth from idiots leaving their clothes to close to the heat, Jamila stood with folded arms. She was not interested really, as much as her father, but there was always a slight curiosity to her being. If this metal worked, it would be more than enough to allow a resurgance to the Merr-Sonn factories. Workers, potential customers, contractual buyers, the like. For some people, looking in from the out, it was risky only putting out major projects, but it always brought more interest, every time.

"Ok, so this is the final product?" Jamila asked, eyeing the large steel bar. It was a dark, very dark, smokey gray in appearance, with a moderately smooth surface edge. The layer was thin, hardly a half inch tall, but was several feet wide by several more long. Which was surprising, as the men carrying it had seemed strained. Reaching out an arm, she lifted the edge, with a heavy grunt. She could move it, but mostly because of the Anzati-Polydroxol portion of her make up. Being a metallic carbon being with enhanced strength made it seem easier, but she had to note with her surprise that it was not what she had expected.

Through a matter of tests, it was now found that such a sheet couldnt simply just realtered, that the heat required to do so would be tremendous. It also was very resistant to lightsabers, blasters and physical assault like Valashu hitting it absolutely as hard as he could with his Phrik bow.

It would seem it had been a success.
