- Primary Source: N/A
- Manufacturer: SoroSuub Corporation
- Model: MG-1000
- Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
- Material: Durasteel
- Production Level: Mass Produced
- Classification: Heavy Torpedo Bomber
- Length: 24 Meters
- Width: 38 Meters when Wings Swept Out
- Height: 8 Meters
- Armament: High, x6 Proton Torpedo Launchers (8 torpedoes per launcher), x6 Twin Heavy Blaster Turrets
- Defenses: High, Deflector Shield, Chaff, Flares
- Squadron Count: 4
- Maneuverability Rating: Low (Wings Swept Out), Very Low (Wings Swept Back)
- Speed Rating: Low (Wings Swept Out), Average (Wings Swept Back)
- Hyperdrive Class: 2
- Wings Sweep In and Out, when swept in the bomber's speed is increased, but at the cost of maneuverability, this is due to additional thrusters used to stabilize are re-purposed for propulsion.
Strengths:
- Six gun turrets give the StarLiberator a solid anti-fighter defense and have no real blind spots, allowing them to effectively engage any attackers no matter their approach
- The high amount of torpedoes stocked within the launchers have to potential to be devastating against enemy vessels, from Corvettes to Capital Ships
- The shields and counter measures are all fairly effective
- When the wings are swept back the craft is capable of hitting targets at a high speed for a craft its size
- Even with the wings swept back the ship is slow compared to fighters, and far less maneuverable no matter the state of its wings, but even less so when swept back
- Requires a crew of ten
- Once the shields are down, the turrets are extremely exposed and not well armored
- The torpedo launchers, if destroyed, have the potential to rip apart the bomber, and likely anything unfortunate enough to be close by
- Without fighter escort, StarLiberator formations are incredibly vulnerable, and despite being quite dangerous to attack, can be eliminated without too many losses against adequate enemy fighters
- Must be in the same range as other, lighter bombers for torpedoes to be effective, putting the ship dangerously close to anti-air defenses
- Size limits deployment from non-terrestrial locations immensely, meaning offensively they can only be deployed in small numbers
- With the exception of literally jumping out, there is no form of escape pod system on board earning them the nickname 'StarCoffin'
Description: The might of the fleets and armies of the various Empires of the galaxy is unquestionably great, and the sight of a Star Destroyer is as harrowing as it has ever been. To combat these monstrosities, as well as any other vessel churned out by the forces of darkness, the MG-1000 line of bombers was put into production. The first to come off the line is the B/SF-24, a Heavy Torpedo Bomber designed with combating enemy fleets in mind. Requiring a crew of ten (six gunners, one pilot, one navigator, one communications officer, and one bombardier), the heavy bomber was designed to rely on its vast armament of turrets and fighter escorts to get within range of enemy vessels, then unleash a barrage of torpedoes from at least four StarLiberators and devastate the enemy.
