OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Radiation poisoning has been a countless problem throughout the years, either from natural causes such as pulsar stars or from artificial causes such as radiation bombs. With the Sith Empire, employing specialized radiation troopers not unlike the ancient Galactic Empire, Lucerne Biological Systems turned their attention to creating an anti-radiation drug that could protect its soldiers and spacers from radiation weapons. To that end, the lurrian core of the company ended up not developing an explicit drug per se, but rather genetically modified microbes used in the past to protect people from blaster bolts by eating radiation. These microbe's ability to immediately act on the radiation suggested to the company that they would be able to almost immediately counteract the effects of radiation rather than taking minutes to act as with some conventional antiradiation drugs. Micro AntiRad was the result, and while fairly effective at its intended purpose, is still pretty much a one-trick pony for unusual circumstances. Consequently, Micro AntiRad has enjoyed a small and steady production run so far as users buy it almost purely to have for contingency purposes.
- Intent: To provide a basic anti-radiation medication

- Primary Source: N/A
- Name: Micro AntiRad
- Manufacturer: Lucerne Biological Systems
- Affiliation: Directorate, Silver Jedi Concord, Lucerne Biological Systems customers
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Modularity: different routes (oral; injection)
- Production: Mass-Produced
- Material: genetically engineered radiation eating microbes, typical pharmaceulogical filler materials
- Classification: Anti-radiation
- Method of Consumption: oral tablet, injection
- Average Life: 12 hours
- Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: While not intended to provide any sort of sustenance, AntiRad's microbes do change radiation into byproducts that can be absorbed by the body and used as a source of energy and nutrients. Patients who are allergic to barabel microbes might experience allergic reactions, but the more common side effects include flu-like symptoms such as fever and runny nose derived from the body attacking the introduced microbes. Micro AntiRad's intended purpose is to protect users from sustained radiation by rapidly digesting it to eliminate its harmful presence within the body and by providing additional internal shielding against further radiation intrusion. Each dose is effectively groups of of microbes that have been genetically engineered to consume radiation and form radiation shielding to protect the host. Onceradiation is ingested by the microbes, this energy is turn used to produce more microbes that circulate within the body's various internal spaces or nontoxic byproducts that the host's body can simply absorb. Genetic engineering prevents the microbes in a single dose from reproducing more than 12 generations, with each generation living approximately an hour (depending on the environment and radiation exposur)e. This effectively allows a single dose of Micro AntiRad to provide up to 12 hours of continuous protection. It is possible to take overlapping doses of Micro AntiRad to provide around the clock protection from radiation, but with increased levels of microbes leads to a greater chance of the host's immune system of attacking the microbes, thus leading to more common side effects and consequently decreased radiation protection.
- Radiation Protection: Micro AntiRad provides protection from radiation by providing organisms that rapidly "eat" radiation and have also been genetically engineered to act as internal shields for vital host organs.
- Multiple Routes: Micro Antirad comes in injectable form, ideal for quick and easy combat application, or oral tablet form for easy convenience in more casual settings.
- Radiation Protection: Micro AntiRad can protect the user from radiation from either natural causes or artificial means.
- Side Effects: As with almost any medicine, there is always a chance of developing negative side effects.
