Microwave Power Transmission, or MPT for short, is a technological innovation that allows Avali and Satorian to transfer power between celestial bodies, Starships, and Satellites.
The system works by taking electronic energy, converting it to microwaves and beaming that energy to its intended destination. In effect allowing them to offshore power plants, and share that energy with the Home-world or World Engines used to terraform planetary bodies.
MPT is a rare example of Avali technology that isn't closely guarded and is often shared as a diplomatic offer to further research agreements and other political interests.

- Power Grid Security - Hostile forces will find it very difficult to disrupt energy supplies without targeting key transmitters/receivers in the network. In the event one is damaged, another can easily take its place.

- Delivery Time - Power transmitted via the MPT system moves at the speed of light, meaning that it can up to 4~6 hours to reach its destination within a planetary system, on the galactic scale this time increases exponentially making it a less viable option.
- Orbital - Generally, MPT isn't always active as planetary bodies and satellites rotate around the system, meaning there is usually some sort of downtime. Batteries are used to store excess energy during this period, ensuring it does not go to waste.
- Efficency - MPT losses some power during the transfer process, and about is 90~95% efficient, losing 5~10% during conversion depending upon the quality of components and interference.
- Celestial Interfere - As Microwaves aren't innately insulated, significant celestial events can interfere with or interrupt power supplies. A prime example is a solar ejection such as flares from stars.
