She lived in repurposed storage crates, ventilation shafts, and abandoned speeder bays. Learning to steal food and barter with low-level slicers and droid scavengers, she quickly built a reputation among other street urchins as a kid who could "see trouble coming before it started."
  
  What she didn't realize was that her instincts were rooted in the Force. When a bounty hunter once cornered her for stealing credits from a corrupt merchant, she leapt instinctively off a rooftop and somehow landed without breaking a bone. Other times, she could "feel" who to trust—and who not to.
  
  Despite the daily danger, Melenna held onto one item from her past: a scorched medallion bearing her family crest, hidden beneath her shirt. She'd whisper to it at night, imagining her parents could still hear her. That medallion, and a fierce refusal to be forgotten by the galaxy, kept her moving.
  
  One night during a food riot in the lower sectors, Melenna used a stolen hydrospanner and a small shock emitter to hold off two enforcers who were shaking down a beggar kid she'd befriended. Grandmaster Pahul Vitorbreeze, on a quiet tour of the industrial levels for unknown reasons, witnessed the event. He saw not just a survivor—but someone the Force had not abandoned.
