The lush green vegetation welcomed him with open arms. Vines, branches, and leaves dotted his vision in never ending variations of green. The man walking through such thick forestry was himself a man of nature itself. It enveloped his very being, the air hung lightly with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the chortling of beetles and other insects was nothing but pure music to his ears. A cloak wrapped around him shifted colors from shades of grey to hues of green, as if he were a constantly morphing being.

Lan inhaled the air once again with a light, appreciative smile. "It feels good," he exhaled, "To be back." The backpack hung almost weightlessly from his shoulders and the sword attached to his hip, and the bow across his back were merely memories of days past. There was no war here - merely the hunter and the hunted. Dried blood still clung to the edge of his blade, a testament to the rather voracious wildlife living on this planet. Lan hadn't desired to slay such innocent and ignorant beings, but the Force deemed it was their time, so he obliged.

I've been gone far too long. I really wished I hadn't started getting soft - the feeling of my own bed beneath me felt almost too good to be true. The Jedi sighed inwardly in thought. Oh well. The Force shall provide me with all I need.

A roar sounded off in the distance, immediately followed by squeals of terror and agony. The hunt was constant and Lan was both the hunter and the prey.

She kept her body low to the ground, her scent drifting away from the Boma's strong nostrils. O'Nikka readied her back legs for the pounce. The long tail behind her swished in anticipation for the attack. Her large claws sheathed within her paws were unleashed, the unsuspecting Boma looked up only to have a 600 Kilogram beast latch onto it's scaled back. Once she dug in her claws forcefully into her unwilling competitor O'Nikka was lashed around from side to side. The Boma was a rather small reptile and this kill will come with only minor wounds. Her muscles tensed as the creature raised on it's stubby hind legs and rammed it's right side into a large tree and in turn smashed the feline's tail.

It was painful of course but if it meant she got to eat another night, it was worth it. From her lungs emerged a low and distinct roar which only motivated her more to bite into it's fat neck. She could taste the Boma's meat now, her heart and stomach raised with the natural desire to feast. Once she finally got the grip on it's throat, it starting to go down. It was a waiting game for her, before long the painful screams and cries would grow weak and it's pulse stop. It flipped over on it's back and landed on the feline.

The jungle floor was rather padded and softened, her spikes took most of the blow but it was noting once the beast's movements slowed and it's body grew limp. The long whispers sprouting out beneath her nose could sense the pulse through the Boma's body, it came to a halt and was stopped. Almost immediately she released her grasp and climbed over the reptile and sniffed it cautiously. She would have a short time to eat as much as she could before having to flee the kill site. O'Nikka placed her front paws on the kill and began digging into the creature.

Noise of one animal eating on another was the only sound, that filled the wild jungle. There was the sound of rustling, O'Nikka jumped, her head and ears were raised. Slowly and hesitantly ripped into the carcass once more before slinking off to the side. Her large ears constantly rotated and her tail flickered as she was expecting some larger predator to sweep out of the sky or emerge from the bushes and take her with them. Even though to take down the Boma she had to put forth honorable strength and power for it's size and reputation.

The stench of blood hung thick in the air - even more so than the dew and fog that permeated every morsel of this jungle. The warden's own breath was trapped within his throat as most of the roaring about and tumbling had ceased. Heavy breathing, adrenaline-fused panting, and the rending of something akin to cloth was heard above the chirping of the beetles and birds. Lan drew the bow from his back, sending another hand for his quiver before knocking an arrow back.

His grey-green shifting cloaked form crept into the small opening with caution. His forest green eyes scanned each and every inch of the open space for the source of the frenzied cries - and a voice in the rear of his head commanded him to let nature take its course. But he was part of the wild now. Either he was the predator or the prey, the hunter or the hunted, the killer or the victim. The Living Force understood where he came from all too well.

"Come out," he simply spoke. If the creature was as horrendous as the ones in the tales of Dxun, then his taunt would no doubt be answered. Lan yearned for the beast to reveal itself, to lunge for him in this thick fog.

Blood. It was what he smelled, it was what he wanted to cleanse himself with.

Her heart beat was strong and loud in her keen ears. There was a voice with a command, it spoke not in the tongue of the villagers on this horrid moon did but of the language she was taught. Yet this made no difference and did not change how she felt about this situation. Many times she was hunted down with bows, spears, and any weapon and managed to allude the hunters. O'Nikka would never take a chance.

Her spots rippled and quivered as her paws readied themselves to flee or attack. Quickly she got nose deep in the successful kill, eating as fast as she could. If she had to run, she would be regretting this decision later. O'Nikka raised her head, tearing the rubber flesh from it's lifeless body. Normally she would have triumphed with such a kill but right now was not the time nor place. With her head raised high the feline's head turned to look behind her and then in front of her.

A dark blood slowly trickled from her lips down to the rest of her body, eventually covering the whole half of her muzzle. The jaguar-like creature's tail swished behind her in anticipation. All it would take was one wrong move by the other party for her to run as though she never had before. There was a possibility her ears heard wrong but there was no doubt that her whole pelt, bones, spikes, and entirety was priceless on the black market. Trust was not easily given out to anyone under any circumstance.

Though in such a state, the sunlight that shown through the breaks in the thick canopy glistened against her black and tan coat, the feline was nothing but majestic. Even with her blood soaked fur. Had it not been for the moist air clouding her judgement the being near her would have been found already.
