"Oh, buddy, buddy, I'm the best damn gun-runner this side of the Run. I've got what you need. So name it, and I'll tell you exactly how much. And- I'm a professional, don't hide anything from me. No need, I can keep my mouth shut. I'll give you the best for the job. And, y'know, if ya need anything else- ships, contacts, info, a good crewman or a few..." The smuggler smiled and shrugged. "Lemme know. Anything for a friend."

Enki was a welcome sight. He had been using his gun running service for about the better part of a month. The man was punctual, agreeable and always delivered the goods. Running an salvaged Imperial Raider Corvette was not cheap. Her missiles cost an arm and a leg, and they'd had to break into the war chest to refill their stash after the last raid near Nivek.
"I know you do."
The black armored pirate slapped a fistful of platinum bars into Enki's hand. HE never used credits himself, those were bound to taxation. In the big back precious metal ruled as a source of wealth, and he had his own hidey holes of the stuff all up and down the Corellian run at secret locales.
"I'm hoping you can start delivering. Fuel costs being what they are, and us being who we are, I'm not trying to make a pattern of stopping here. That's how crews get jumped by hunters. I can give you and extra fee, but I can't give you coordinates. You'll have to meet us at a dead zone and slave your ships astro computer to ours."
Operational security at this time was his top concern. They were about thirty crewmen light, and it took time to build a red skull pirate. They weren't just pressed off the streets into service. Each man had to be broken, rebuilt, and trained in the arts of warfare. They were professional killers that resembled a stormcommando squad rather than a mob.
"I thought you'd never ask. 'Course I can do runs for ya." Enki understood discretion. This port was one of his regular stops off the Mara Corridor; as with any shadowport, it was impossible to feel safe in a place like this. The smuggler had enough clout and had moved enough product for the regulars here that he didn't fear being turned on, but even then he mostly stayed close to the docks, moving between ships instead of setting things up further into the station.
Vex was a different beast. He was new to the game, still building rep -- though, from Enki's interactions with the man, he'd already decided it wasn't in his best interest to cross him. The captain paid well and ran a tight ship. A few clever hunters could take him down, sure, but it'd be more trouble than they'd like, and probably deadly for most of them.
He ran the credits through his fingers. "Oh, that's all good, I do it from time to time. But slaving our systems -- that makes my boys a little jumpy, you know? Might need some smoothing over."
He organized the credits, pushing them together, before tapping them against the table.

Enki drove a hard bargain. That was one of the traits the Pirate Captain respected. Too many morons in the verse got ripped off or steamrolled in the game. Not Enki. Enki was too smart for that, not that he'd been trying to rip off his primo supplier anyhow.
"I'll tell ya what, I like you and your crew. That's not a compliment I shell out for anyone. I'll add an extra thousand per man on your crew. Should be a nice fat bonus."
He fished into his armors pouches and produced more platinum chips.
"This ought-ta do it. While your at it see if you can get some buzz droid missiles. I like those a lot."
Enki took the credits, did a quick count, then smiled. "Lookin' good."
Captain Rak had a small flotilla under his command, preferring to move his products together for safety. For the most part he'd been dealing with Vex out of a pair of old Wayfarer-class medium transports. The crew size wasn't massive, but this was a solid bonus.
"I move the best, Vex. Send me the time and place. Hell, if you're not keen on being seen at all, I'm happy to run a dead drop -- a few containers in orbit of an empty planet usually does the trick. Might even have something special for ya."
