The ranking structure of the Galactic Empire is both a simple and complex entity, meaning it is simply complex. There are three distinct branches of the military; Army, Navy, and Inquisitorius.

The MILITARY COMMAND 'TRIUMVIRATE'

The Imperial Army, Navy, and Inquisitorius branches of the military are led by a great leader. One person commands the entirety and only that one person can do so.

The IMPERIAL ARMY
  • Supreme Commander of the Imperial Army

    Leads the entirety of the Imperial Army, commanding any and all forces available to them.

  • Commands a Sector Army, which is the equivalent to four System Armies or 2,359,296 troopers. May also control 262,144 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 131,072 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

[*]High General

  • Commands a System Army, which is the equivalent to four Armies or 589,824 troopers. May also control 65,536 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 32,768 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

  • Commands an Army, which is the equivalent to four Corps or 147,456 troopers. May also control 16,384 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 8,192 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs)

[*]Major General

  • Commands a Corps, which is the equivalent to four Battlegroups or 36,864 troopers. May also control an Armor/Artillery Corps; 4,096 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 2,048 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

  • Commands a Battlegroup, which is the equivalent to four Regiments or 9,216 troopers. May also control an Armor/Artillery Battlegroup; 1,024 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 512 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs)

[*]Lieutenant Colonel

  • Commands a Regiment, which is the equivalent to four Battalions or 2,304 troopers. May also control an Armor/Artillery Regiment; 256 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 128 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

  • Commands a Battalion, which is the equivalent to four Companies or 576 troopers. May also control an Armor/Artillery Battalion; 64 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 32 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs)

  • Commands a Company, which is the equivalent to four Platoons or 144 troopers. May also control an Armor Company/Artillery Battery; 16 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 8 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

  • Commands a Platoon, which is the equivalent to four Squads or 36 troopers. May also control an Armor Platoon/Artillery Line; 4 light/medium vehicles (AT-STs) or 2 heavy vehicles (AT-ATs).

Sergeant

  • Commands a Squad which is composed of 9 troopers. May also control an Armor/Artillery Section; 1 light/medium vehicle (AT-ST)

  • The lowest rank of the Imperial Army and is part of a squad.


The IMPERIAL NAVY
  • Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleet
    The leader of the Imperial Navy, commanding all naval assets at their disposal.

  • Commands a Sector Group, which is equivalent to two Fleets or 16 to 64 vessels

[*]Vice Admiral
  • Commands a Fleet, which is equivalent to two System Forces or 8 to 32 vessels

[*]Rear Admiral
  • Commands a System Force, which is equivalent to two Squadrons or 4 to 16 vessels

  • Commands a Squadron, which is equivalent to two Lines or 2 to 8 vessels.

[*]Captain
  • Commands a Line, which is either a singular star destroyer or four smaller vessels which include cruisers and frigates.

[*]Commander
  • Commands an individual vessel up to the size of a cruiser. Participates as part of a Naval Line. May also be second in command to a Captain on a vessel

[*]Lieutenant
  • Main officer rank of the Navy, may sometimes be second in command on smaller ships.

  • Lowest Naval rank, usually working as part of the bridge crew or overseeing other crewmen.


The IMPERIAL STARFIGHTER CORPS
  • Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleet
    The leader of the Imperial Navy, which the Starfighter Corps is a part of.

  • Commands all fighters available at their disposal, considered the leader of the Starfighter Corps.

[*]Colonel
  • Commands a Force, which is composed of four Wings or 288 fighters.

[*]Major
  • Commands a full Wing, which is the exact amount of fighters garrisoned in an Imperial star destroyer or 72 fighters (two Groups)

  • Commands a Group, which is composed of three Squadrons or 36 fighters.

  • Commands a Squadron, which is composed of three Flights or 12 fighters.

The IMPERIAL INQUISITORIUS

  • The Beginning
    Initiate: The beginning of the Force-User path, all Apprentice/Acolyte level force-users start off here and work their way upwards through great effort. From then on are three choices that culminate in ending up in one of two sub-branches.

The Inquisitorius
  • Imperial Inquisitor: The Knight-level position of the Inquisitorius sub-branch, the Inquisitors are the ones responsible for silencing particularly dangerous (dangerous enough to outmatch a Special Agent) individual who speaks ill of the Empire or works against them, they focus on Force powers with blades being secondary.

[*]High Inquisitor: A Master/Lord-level force-user who has mastered enough of the Force; They are the equivalent in power to a Sith Lord or Jedi Master, but they are not weakened by their ambition for power or pacifism.

[*]The Grand Inquisitor: Leader of the Inquisitorius sub-branch, having mastered the Force in its entirety. They may train the next generation of Inquisitors and appoint High Inquisitors.

The 'True Grey' Imperial Guard
  • Imperial Shadowguard/Redguard: While technically part of the Inquisitorius, the shadow guards and red guards are actually part of a 'neutral' specialized sub-branch called the Imperial Guard, responsible for protecting the highest ranking members of the Empire. Both 'classes' specialize in sabers/blades rather than the Force. Shadowguards act as officers to squadrons of red guards.
  • Imperial Sovereign Protector: The most elite of the Imperial Guard who have mastered the art of the blade or sabre, enough to be assigned to protect even the Grand Moff and the Emperor themselves. Protectors are personally trained by the Guard Captain.
  • Lord-Captain of the Guard: Leader of the Imperial Guard, trains shadow guards and red guards as well as the Sovereign Protectors to make sure that those they protect are done so to the best of their potential.

I'd rather not make him an admiral right off the bat, although I would be willing for him to be a rear admiral and work his way up, is this acceptable?
