Military Stuffs

War. War never changes. It seemed so far away though. Like a bird in a cage she'd been stuck out at Eastern Command ever since she was recruited in to The Republic by the old Chancellor Jack Harkness at the end of the war. And that was now a long time ago. It seemed long anyways. It wasn't all bad though; in a way at least. With much of their forces in the west, Hawke was one of the highest ranking officers out in the arm. She liked the power she had. Not in the evil way mind you. With it she'd been cleaning up the messes that were already here and those made by the lack of manpower and logistics here. A Commander could only do so much though.

Today Hawke was to take a foreign officer named Corek under her charge. Part of some officers exchange program. A welcome change to break up the monotony of the day to day. And luckily for Corek they were in port for a few more days on Dellalt. A beautiful ocean world. So it won't be all stuffy regulations and running the ship business the whole time with little else.

Noah's shuttle should be setting down soon she was told. Hawke awaited the Protectorate Officer at the southern continents Space Port terminal. She'd be on the tarmac if it wasn't so humid out. No need to get sweaty now. "I wonder what he's like".

An official officer exchange program. Noah hadn't been apart of one of those since his days as a Republic Commando and he had been transferred to a Liberation-class cruiser and served aboard it for a few weeks. Now it was a little different, instead of being transferred to a different branch he was being loaned to a different government entirely. So now here he was exiting his shuttle, dressed in his Omega Advanced Combat Armor Mk I and a armorweave trenchcoat he usually wore with his Hekler'Kok RA-1 Ranger Armor, but since this was official business he had decided to wear the standard armor for the Pyre. Over his shoulder was a duffel bag full of his personal effects, mostly tolietries, spare clothes and things like weapon cleaning kits. His weapons had been checked in seperately. After gathering up everything, Noah headed inside and looked around until he found the person who he was looking. Walking up to her, Noah put his bag down and extended his hand. "Commander Katamirth, I'm Colonel Corek."

Her attention was pulled away from the outside view as the Omegan called. "Ahh Colonel Corek". Hawke reached out and grasped his hand. Well she got a lovely view of his armor from down there doing it to. This fellow was tall. Looking up she judged by about a head. "Nice of them to put you out in the backwater. Gives me something to do since they won't toss me at the front. Must not trust my loyalties". Hawke broke the handshake and took a look over her shoulder. "Well then, grab your kit and lets be off Colonel. Don't want to waste my morning dallying about while my ship is still in resupply". The officer turned about and strode off, waving for Corek to follow her.

Noah had to admit, Commander Katamirth was a bit shorter than he had expected her to be. True be told, Noah was taller than most humanoids, standing at 1.9 meters tall, he stood almost as tall as a adult wookiee. Combine that and the fact that his armor gave him a few extra centimeters, Noah was intimadating even to his friends. When Hawke waved for Noah to follow her, he picked his duffle off of the ground and followed her to the baggage claim area. Once there Noah waited for a few seconds before seeing his luggage, two rifles cases emblazoned with the Pyre logo and a smaller case about half the size. Once he had picked them up, Noah turned back to Hawke and smiled. "Lead the way Commander."

Hawke and co cleared through a checkpoint out of the civilian terminal and in to the military area. Security wasn't in need to be so thick here than elsewhere. Once they were away Hawke piped up a conversation topic. "So Colonel. I've read several reports that tell me the Protectorate is giving The Republic significant military support in the War. Helped give a good beating to them at Carida. Have you participated in any of the battles"? She gave him a light smile and a glance out the corner of her eyes. War stories were always so interesting to hear. Especially ones you're supposed to be apart of.

Noah chuckled as they cleared the final checkpoint and Hawke started up a conversation. "Unfortunately I haven't. I've been out of commission these last two months after I rebroke an old injury from Gehenna. Though now that I'm better, I'm waiting for that final push towards Coruscant, my homewolrd by the way." Noah told her as he hefted the duffle a little closer as he felt some of its contents shift around.

Well there went the chance for any interesting news she didn't know about from the front. Still interesting that he was born on Coruscant but fought for Fondor. "You are a little more like me than I would have imagined Colonel Corek. I was born on Ession in the Sith Empire. Served in her navy. And now I'm with The Republic. And that's what I meant earlier about my loyalties. Bad blood stains forever and I'll always be an outsider to most. People just look at the generalities and assume. The war does me harm thought I've never seen a battle in it". Hawke lead Noah through a small section of the military side of the port to a double glass door to the ship fields. The light was a little blinding as she first exited but she adjusted. There were few ships here, a few small transports and one Watts Class Heavy Cruiser. Her cruiser.

Noah smiled as Hawke made her connection between the two of them. "It weird, you know? When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was get off of Coruscant and go somewhere exotic. Manaan, Kashyyyk or maybe Mon Cal. But now, with the Sith crawling all over it? All I want to do is get back." Noah informed her, his smile faded a bit once he was done talking. "I know how you feel, when I first joined the Protectorate I was looked at with a bit of suspicion, I mean a fifteen year Republic Commando veteran joining up all of a sudden? After a few months and nearly a dozen battles later, I proved myself and even raised to be the commander of their most elite unit." It was then Hawke's ship, a Watts-class Heavy Cruiser. Noah had read about them, a Heavy Cruiser with a fire power of at least two star destroyers.

"Well. Like you did. You earn your place by respect and dedication. I have my crews through hard work and all that. Just going to have a tougher time due to my heritage and service". Hawke looked off to the distance, her ship being the focus. A pause held the conversation for what seemed an agonizingly long time. Really a matter of seconds. It seemed a little awkward to her telling him of troubles she had he could do nothing about, so she broke the silence. "So Colonel Corek. What do you think of her. She's named The Templar. Sadly not my giving; but its fitting in comparison to the first ship I ever commanded". Delving into Hawks past the first ship she Captained was named The Paladin. And every battle she'd fought in as a Captain was aboard her.

Noah nodded his head and smiled as he looked at the ship admirably. "She definetely is a beautiful ship, I'm not to thrilled about the company who made her though. Baktoid has been indicated in paying mercs and encouraging them to kill the Protectors and to commit terrorist acts against the Protectorate. On a personal note, if I find out Wren did put out that ad, I'm going snap her neck myself and I have no doubt Cira and Cater will approve." Noah informed Hawke, spitting out Wren's name with a lot of venom.

It was nice to hear he appreciated the ship for what she was. But everything behind her was tainted to this man. Hawke never knew about what he spoke about. The galaxies a large place and you can't know everything. But she had some advice for the Colonel. "You shouldn't have to resort to murder Corek. Its the standards we abide by that put us above people like this Wren character. If the facts turn out to be true and you ever get your hands on them. Promise that you'll take them to a court of law and let justice be served there. Don't stoop to their level".

Noah snorted a little bit at the mention of courts. "In our time there is little courts can do when it comes to prosecuting a galactic arms dealer who owns a billion credit company. Though Baktoid has come under fire lately from multiple humanitarian groups for still supporting the CIS after what the did at Druckenwell. They dropped a part of the orbital shipyards you know? Killed over 600 million of their own people? You wanna know why? Just to stop us from taking the planet. If your willing to sacrifice that many lives, you might as well join the Sith." Noah informed her as he began the walk towards the ship, interested in taking a look at it. Noah wasn't familiar with naval vessels, since the only starship he usually traveled on was the Solomon, a old Hammerhead-class Cruiser that had been refitted up to snuff with most modern day ships its size.

Hawke didn't walk with him. She stood her ground gaze downwards. His last words cut so deep they hurt physically to her. "You want to know why I'm not still in one of the Sith factions Corik. I was the one officer who stood up for the people at Togoria. Held her oath to protect the citizens of The Empire while all others blindly obeyed the Emperors genocide. I was willing to sacrifice my life for them. And while I didn't die I paid dearly. A Sith Lord redirected my attempt to kill him and brought me down. Lord Pazela, and millions died. Look at me Corik". Hawke yelled that last sentence to make him stop and turn around. "He tortured me for well over a month". Hawke pulled up her uniform to expose her midriff. Which was covered in scars both large and small. "These scars cover most of my body. Most will never be gone. His men raped me while I was in chains. And all because I stood up for the right thing". Hawke paused a moment, her breathing was seething with rage. "I have more reason than most to ever kill someone right there and then if given the chance. But I know I wouldn't. I would drag that sorry son of a queen through hell and back to Togoria. And only once he's sentenced to death toss him to the crowds to be torn limb from limb and let justice be served. If your courts are to weak and afraid to bring these people to justice then none will ever be had. They'll just be another dead monster for the pile and free space for another. If you won't fight for law and order then why don't you just go join the Sith"? Hawke's fists were so tight they hurt. But she didn't care. His defeatism and murderous inclinations boiled her blood. The Omegan's were one of the bastions of nations who stood up to do the right thing. Noah tarnished their image.

Noah heard the rage in Hawke's and came to the conclusion that he had been a insensitive bastard and he decided to do something he rarely did, apologize. "I'm sorry Katamirth. I didn't mean what I've said, recently I've been stressed lately with the multiple invasions and with the overhaul of the Protectorates rank structure I've been filling out paperwork for weeks. Right now I'm running off of four hours of sleep that I got on the shuttle." Noah informed Hawke as he set some of his stuff down and then sat down, putting his face in his hands as he sat.

Hawke turned her back and rested an arm on the concrete wall, and her head then on the arm. "I'm sorry for blowing up on you too. Bringing up Druckenwell just brought out all those bad memories for me. I wish I could bury my past and forget it. There's no chance of that though". She forced herself off the wall and over to Noah. She looked right at him face to face. the anger she held a minute ago had washed away for a more caring demenor. "The Omegan's are honorable. I'd bet if you asked Ayden he'd never say to murder someone. No matter how horrible the crime he'd seek justice if he could. I'd wager you to are an honorable man too". Hawke extended a hand to help Corik up off the ground. "Care to just put all this behind us and be friends"?

"Sounds good to me." Noah informed Hawke as he grabbed her hand and allowed him to let her up. Of course what Noah didn't noticed was the oil slick nearby by his foot, so when he accidently stepped in it and slipped, Hawke came tumbling down with him, good thing though that Noah hit the concrete and was right below Hawke, though she would still probably get a face full of plasteel on the way down.

[member="Noah Corek"]

Noah's dumb slip did in fact cause her to eat plasteel. And a whole lot of pain. And to top it off a bloody nose. "Ayy you kark...". Hawke rolled herself off onto her rear. She felt a great need to sneeze and she had stars in her eyes making it difficult to see much of anything. The blood trickled down her face and gathered at her chin, a single drop fell to her hand. Reacting she brought it up to her chin and wiped the wet away. A great red smear took up alot of her sight, she knew it was blood but was still a little dazed to do much about it. "Why'd you.... hit me"?

Noah chuckled as Hawke asked why he had hit her in a dazed state. "Commander, if I had hit you, you wouldn't be concious right now, much less talking. I slipped and since you were helping me up, I took you down with me and you bumped your face into my chestplate." Noah informed her as he pointed to a spot on his chestplate where there was a little blotch of blood, most likely from Hawke's bloody nose. Noah then pulled out a rag and beckoned for Hawke to come towards him so he could wipe the blood off of her.

[member="Noah Corek"][member="Noah Corek"]

"Well you could of not dragged me down with you". Hawke pulled out a handkerchief of her own to cover the still trickling blood. Recomposing herself from the hit Hawke pulled herself up. "I think you can handle yourself on your own now. Grab you gear and lets go". Hawke now took lead in walking to the ship. Angry with him even if it was an accident. Blunders and oafs.

Noah rolled his eyes as he wiped off the blood Hawke's nose had spilled on his armor. He grabbed his gear and stood, following Hawke to the ship. "So, I guess the first thing I say is I'm sorry and the second is why are you still with the Republic if the keep you all the way out here in the Arm? With your credentials any other government outside of the Sith would be more than happy to take you in. I know the Protectorate is certainly looking for competent naval officers for our war against the Feds." Noah told her as he caught up to her, walking on her right.
