- Communications broadcast from the Militor-class vessel 'Exigent Equilibrium' to a pirate cruiser; the latter was lost with all hands.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The Militor-class Autocruiser, whose name roughly translates to "war is waged by me", was made to supplement the workhorse of Globex's droid fleets, the Legion-class Drone Carrier. In stark contrast to the Legion, it carries a squadron of boarding pods at most - and rather than holding back to safeguard the investment it represents, it eagerly casts itself into the fires of war, unleashing a symphony of violence on its targets.
Since the Globex Corporation strongly values efficiency and sustainability, Militor squadrons tend to be accompanied by 'vulture fleets' - civilian or lightly armed automated formations that eagerly salvage any debris left behind. Even debris irrational romantics consider 'war graves'.
Occasionally, independent salvagers will nevertheless find a Militor wreck. Getting to the 'valuable bits' is easier said than done, in such cases, as organics are not meant to set foot aboard Militors. As such, they lack signs, corridors designed for humanoids, and adequate radiation protection. Equally importantly, any remaining Spiderbots and the like will resort to lethal force against trespassers (i.e., any organic).
After all, even wrecked Militors remain the sole property of the Globex Corporation or the purchaser.
It is only right that would-be thieves be recycled and their spare parts used to fuel biomass reactors.
DEVELOPMENT LOG
- Intent: The hammer-cum-anvil of Globex's automated fleets.

- Primary Source: Legion-class Drone Carrier
- Manufacturer: The Globex Corporation
- Affiliation: Globex Security Division
- Market Status: Open-Market
- Model: Militor-class Autocruiser
- Production: Mass-Produced
- Material: Doonium-Hexalloy
- Classification: Automated Cruiser
- Length: 810 metres
- Width: 85 metres
- Height: 330 metres
- Armament: Very High
- Turbolaser Batteries [Forward/Broadside]
- GCA-13 'Starburst' Plasmatic Cascade Cannons
- GCA-11 'Starhammer' Electromagnetic Plasma Cannons
- Secondary Munitions Launchers [Torpedoes, Probes, etc.]
- Defences: High
- Hangar Space: Base | 1 (Optional)
- Hangar Allocations: Militors normally resupply exclusively through 'starscooping' and as such tend to forego hangars due to the structural vulnerability they represent. That said, many can deploy a squadron of boarding pods from smaller compartments.
- Manoeuvrability Rating: Average
- Speed Rating: Average
- Hyperdrive: Class 1.01
- 'Rapid Action Militors' are often equipped with faster Hyperdrives.
- Militor-class Autocruisers are outfitted with all the features and facilities one would expect from vessels of their size and purpose.
- Militor-class Autocruisers are equipped with an advanced 'starscoop system' - sturdy shields allow them to get close enough to most main sequence stars (but not neutron stars), a powerful tractor beam array 'scoops' up chunks of plasma, and a specialised molecular furnace converts it to either Visium (used as both fuel and ammunition) or spare parts / matter for hull repairs / munitions / etc.
- Militors are equipped with Subdrives to enable rapid in-system transit while not being suppressed by hostile vessels.
- Militors are equipped with Gravity Well Projectors so as to better catch and dispose of criminal elements/hostiles.
- Some Militors are equipped with pressurised holding cells, but most are incapable of 'effectuating live arrests'.
- That said, Militors are quite capable of stashing escape pods in cargo holds or 'recycling biomass'.
- Inexorable Juggernaut: Militor-class Autocruisers are tough, pack one hell of a punch, and can operate indefinitely without resupply and the 'downtime' required by puny organics. Even when crippled in battle, they are remarkably good at repairing themselves (albeit rarely fast enough to rejoin a battle) and even when fully destroyed, they are specifically designed to be as easily recyclable as possible.
- Single Point of Failure: Militor-class Autocruisers are wholly automated and unlike some such vessels, they normally respond faster than an organic crew would. The reason is simple - the entire vessel is run by a singular, superintelligent AI. Naturally, disabling this AI, whether by means of sabotage or simply blasting through the ship's hull until the AI core is destroyed, will cripple a Militor's cognition.

DEVELOPMENT LOG
- Initial order placed by [DATA EXPUNGED]. AI Cores are to be replaced or supplemented by [DATA EXPUNGED].
- Order altered by [DATA EXPUNGED]. The vessels are to be made compatible with [DATA EXPUNGED] instead.
- Note: [DATA EXPUNGED] has no urgent need for the vessels. Primary development moved to the Naval Development Fund.
- Order deprioritised by order of the Security Oversight Committee; no further militarisation is needed at this point.
- Order reprioritised by order of Director Terassi; the incident near Woostri showcases a need for heavier vessels.
- Order expedited by the Board of Directors following the approval of 'the Raybrant Proposal'. Priority funding granted.
- Note: 'The Raybrant Proposal' (henceforth referred to as 'the Proposal') is to be suggested to the Galactic Alliance once the product enters final testing. In short, the Proposal suggests that the threat posed by the Brotherhood of the Maw (henceforth referred to as 'the Maw') be resolved through attrition warfare utilising automated elements. Projections indicate that the Maw is incapable of matching the industrial output of the Galactic Alliance. Fatality estimates for such an approach are in the low hundreds of billions. As the vast majority of these fatalities will be suffered by the subjects of the Maw, the Proposal is believed to be politically feasible.
- Order completed; changing circumstances have rendered 'the Raybrant Proposal' redundant.
- Directors' Note: "The Raybrant Proposal will be classified in perpetuity. It is the opinion of the Board that our projections were accurate, but the GADF's current approach can be considered preliminarily successful. Assuming this trend continues, it would be inopportune for our organisation to be associated with an approach that would have resulted in significantly higher loss of civilian life."
